“I went last week to TKRC on McDougal in the evening! The two men (I forgot their names but two young non Indian gentlemen who were there between 6-7:30pm) helped me with my large order! They were fantastic!!!! One even suggested the crepe place across the street which was AMAZING! To whoever owns this particular store, those two men were excellent spokespeople for your business, really took care to speak to me with courtesy and friendliness and in no uncertain terms….. were the best! I LOVE the food but with these two men represting your business, I would come back for the lovely service too 🥰🥰 To these two gentlemen…. You are the best 🍻“

“So I just had iftaar with their tikka paratha roll that I had got last Sunday evening. It just tasted so good even though I ate it cold straight from the fridge. 😊 It didn't taste as good when I had ordered it on site. Then, without me even asking for anything, they remade it and gave it to me to take it home with me even though I had told them I was full. 😊😊 The largest portions I have ever seen anywhere, good food, clean, best interior and decor, excellent service. I have yet to see a BETTER or even equally nice place in NYC. 🤍 Jo baat hay. Food makes/breaks the mood.“

“The mint tea hit the spot and the chicken pastilla was also very solid. The highlight for us was the jawhara which was so light and crispy, with a great flavor of pudding. For the pastilla the portion was a bit small but fine for the price. However my personal preference would be to have egg inside (I don't think they use egg in theirs). Still, very pleasant food and service and I would definitely come back.“

“The food was amazing, I ordered the falafel sandwich which was $8 and the chicken over rice which was also $8. Both were well made and the portions were generous. This is a bang for your buck considering how expensive meals are in this area. They even have a green sauce available that they make themselves.

Kazi himself despite a bit of a language barrier is an awesome person to speak to, he is generous in terms of helping his clients out both in pricing and with his sympathy. The service is awesome and overall I would recommend this halal cart/food to anyone out there!“

Since I’ve moved to JC (which I know is only across the river, but the food scene really is different), I have yet to find my go-to halal spot… until now! I paid $10 for a chicken over rice. “I used to go into the city for halal then by richmondhill/glendale. one night after work i decided to try essa's chicken over rice by qcm... 10$... that was 2021 best decision ive made and price has stayed exactly the same from when i first went there till now, not only is his chicken seasoned great but he blesses you with a perfect mix of veggies, fries and one falafel(if thats what ur lookin for but if u a plane jane then he'll bless ya wit that to. His green sauce is crazy good too. he's a genuine down to earth guy and always says wassup when u walk by.“

“The sliders are decent and large with a good varying amount of spice levels suited for anyone to enjoy. The hot mozz on the other hand, which is pretty viral, was a let down. It tastes really heavily like one of the red peppers, cayenne or paprika, and seems to just be known for a cheese pull.“

I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund.
