“If you like authentic Jamaican food with real spices, pepper and all that, this is the place to go. It’s very clean and well maintained. Thank you Bishop Lynne Middleton for introducing me to this amazing restaurant. Yes the food was delicious! I don’t normally eat outside fried chicken but I decided to give it try with rice & peas with oxtail gravy, callaloo. I enjoyed the meal for 2 days. Even my friend who ordered oxtail, she was raving about it as well. She said, “I should’ve ordered 3 more meals.” I’ll be returning there very soon with another friend who likes authentic Jamaican food. ?“

“I recently visited Ripe Kitchen & Bar near the Bronx, and it turned out to be a really memorable dining experience. The restaurant has a warm, intimate atmosphere with dim lighting and a relaxed island vibe that makes the place feel cozy and unique.
The food focuses on authentic Jamaican and Caribbean flavors, and everything I tried was rich and satisfying. One of the standout dishes was the jerk ribeye steak, which is actually one of the restaurant’s most popular items. The seasoning had a great smoky jerk flavor that paired perfectly with the tender meat.
The drinks were also a highlight. Their rum punch and tropical cocktails complemented the food really well and added to the overall Caribbean atmosphere. The menu includes other favorites like oxtail, jerk chicken, and Rasta pasta, giving plenty of flavorful options to choose from.
Service felt friendly and relaxed, and the whole place had a lively neighborhood feel. Overall, Ripe Kitchen & Bar is a great spot if you’re looking for bold Caribbean cuisine, strong cocktails, and a laid-back island vibe just outside New York City. I’d definitely come back again.“

“Very good food, drinks (descent) and atmosphere. The owners are friendly and will accommodate you as much as possible. I remember my very first time going there it was my 2018 2nd Masters Graduation celebration. The owner surprised me with a nice setting with tables and covered chairs, great lighting and the aviance was breathtaking. My guest, family and I thought it was quite impressive. The prices are reasonable as well.“

“I visited this place twice and enjoyed the food on both occasions. On my first visit, I had the rice and peas and jerk chicken, which was solid. On my second visit, I tried the rice and peas and kingfish, which was also good. However, the price of the kingfish seemed a bit high for the portion size.
Macaroni looks appealing, but it wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Dumplings are good.
I will be back when in the area. I want to try their breakfast menu.“

“"While the food was flavorful and the atmosphere was good, my experience with the owner was disappointing and raised questions about the establishment's integrity because he charged me $40.00 for hookah when it was only 20.00.“

“There is no atmosphere to rate, the service is hit or miss. They can have a bit of an attitude. Normally the oxtail are out of this world good, but lately they have been a bit off. The last plate I got they were so fatty that I barely got any bites of just the meat. Meh.“

“Great food but terrible customer service I absolutely love your restaurant the food is amazing! But honestly, some of your staff could really use hospitality training. There’s no reason I should be leaving upset just because an employee didn’t want to serve me over something as small as extra gravy. Without customers, there wouldn’t even be a business, so the service needs to reflect that.“

“Had JerkQ’zine cater the cocktail hour of my wedding this past weekend on 10.10.2020. I ordered many small bites including cocktail patties, assorted surprise dumpling bites, and fritters. I did not get to sample the bites as they were all thoroughly enjoyed by my guests! Contact information was also provided to many who asked. Thank you Jerk Q’zine for making my day successful! #jerkq’zine“

“Friendly service, VERY reasonable prices, almost cheap if I’m being honest. The jerk chicken was good, could’ve had more spice for my liking, but it was good. The rice and peas delicious, and the curry chicken gravy I got over my rice was amazing I think I might try the curry chicken next time. I will definitely go back again.“

“Its rare to go to a jamaican restaurant and they have a full comprehensive menu with all items available 7 days a week. In most places they only serve certain items on certain days. Everything is available everyday here. And the taste is top notch. From now on, I will come here everytime I'm in NYC.“
