“Having been going here for 16 years and still love this place. We no longer live on the island, but still will deal with the tolls and the bridges to get Chinese takeaway from here. Have tried other Chinese takeaway near where we live now, and they lack in comparison. And for any negative comments about the aesthetics of the building, get over it. This place is still clean.“

“I have to say this is one of those special places that gets overlooked. This is a go to Chinese food take out place that many people seem to forget. I have never been disappointed with their food, it’s always consistent. I realize others may have had some bad experiences, I have not. “China Taste is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Buffalo/Niagara region. Believe me when I say - it is one of very few authentic Chinese food places in the area. And no, it's not like any typical Chinese takeout place, and the fact that we drive 30min each way to eat there almost every chance we get shows just how much we love it. We always order enough food for 6-8 people and then take the rest home and eat them throughout the week.
They have a huge menu and we continue to try one new dish every time we go. I don't have pics of everything we've ever ordered but our favorite items are:
1. sweet and sour pork - we always always always order this no matter what, and sometimes we get another order to go. It's nothing like the ones you get from other Chinese places. The coating is super crispy, and maintains its crispiness even after microwaving.
The sauce is tangy with a hint of sweetness and not all thick/gooey and sugary like other places.
I don't even like sweet and sour pork as a dish but I absolutely love and crave this all the time.
2. As for soups, we usually go for the Westlake beef soup. It's seasoned ground beef with tofu in a delicious egg drop like broth. It has a lot of cilantro so if you're not a fan of cilantro you won't like this. The wonton soup is very good too but it has seaweed in it for those who might not be a fan. I think you can probably ask for it without the seaweed though.
3. Scallion pancake stuffed with pork, beef, or lamb. All the meats are a little spicy and all are delicious, but our favorite is the pork. There's this homemade kimchi inside and it just makes it extra delicious.
4. Green beans and minced pork - it's my personal favorite vegetable dish. They did make this other dish that has bean sprouts with sliced pork but they took it off their menu a couple of months ago because not enough people order it :(
5. All the dumplings. They're all homemade and I love them because the dough is not super thick like most other places. There's a good dough to filling ratio and that's one of the key characteristics of a good dumpling. We usually ask them to be pan fried (hubby prefers them that way) which takes extra long to do and costs extra, but is worth it if you like more of a potsticker style dumpling. Also, the wontons in spicy sauce is very tasty too - that's a dish we typically order as well.
6. We usually get some kind of beef dish. The ones I remember liking are the beef with scallions and onions, the black pepper beef, and the spicy shredded beef.

It’s a small space and the atmosphere isn’t the greatest for say, a date night. But it’s always clean, the staff is always friendly, and the food is always delicious!“

“We've been back to Golden Dragon twice very recently and were quite happy with most items. The menu is huge, so we expect we'll find a lot more to like.

Their lo mein is totally different than when they first opened and I love it now. I got beef the first time, but it comes with very little, so I opted for vegetable the second time. Not a lot of vegetables throughout (mostly on top, as you can see in the photo), but it was really delicious! Both times the lo mein noodles were the perfect firmness and had great flavor. I want it again and again!

Matt didn't enjoy his sesame beef. The batter is too thick, and the beef gets completely lost. I like that they will do sauce on the side. We like to toss it ourselves last minute so that it doesn't get soggy. Better for leftovers, too. They do charge an extra $1.50, but they give you a lot of the sauce.

The wonton soup is amazing! A small is only $3.95 and it comes with five big pork wontons. Makes me happy because I get wonton soup cravings. I'll definitely be getting this again.

The General Tso's Chicken is spot on. The pork egg rolls are good, your typical egg roll. The crab rangoons are also quite good.

Their prices are great and the service has always been friendly. I'm so glad we tried again, they're really close by, makes it very convenient.

The portion sizes are reasonable. I always have leftovers for the next day that heat up wonderfully and taste just as good. Some of my favorites things to order are the pork eggs, sweet and sour pork, wonton soup, all the lo mein dishes are good, beef or roasted pork broccoli, fried rice, pork with garlic sauce ❤️that it’s spicy and the Mongolian beef. “Best Chinese food in Buffalo and I’ve tried a lot to the point I stopped going to any altogether. We moved down the street and decided to try this place out. It was great, quick and exactly what you except. I love their wonton soup, normally I never even eat wontons, I get it for the broth but their wontons are very good. Crab Rangoons are triangle shaped which I prefer over the sharp ones that most places have. They used to give sweet tea I was never really sure why but I love sweet tea so I’m not gonna question it but the last time we went they started giving out water bottles which is still nice but I prefer the tea.“

“Food was actually some of the better Chinese food that I’ve had in Buffalo. I got chicken lo mein, fried chicken rice, orange chicken, and vegetable spring rolls and everything was very good. Orange chicken were large chicken chunks. Lo mein very good and the fried chicken rice was very good was yellow rice and really liked it. Service was great and right to the point. Atmosphere was horrible but this is mostly a takeout place so it’s not supposed to be the most fine decor.“

“Very fast, very yummy Asian-American food at reasonable prices. They use Styrofoam "clamshell" containers, which I'm not a fan of (the old foldout boxes are better), but the portions are generous and they tend to be ready faster than they tell you (I only ever buy 1 or 2 dishes, they always say "5 minutes" and it's already done when I'm counting the last of minute 4). Staff are efficient and not discourteous. And the location is pretty convenient for the east side of Buffalo. Parking hasn't been an issue yet.“

“I've been going to China Town for some years now. I used to frequent another local Chinese Take-out but an ownership change brought with it meats I was unable to identify.

I found China Town and haven't looked back. I hardly ever vary my orders, but never tire of the food. The BIG take-away from this place is first, you CAN identify what it is you are eating. That's a huge plus for me. Additionally, they provide a good proportional amount of veggies to their dishes, with generous slices of carrots, full broccoli florets, peas, water chestnuts, etc... So healthy is a thing (and yes, you can, and I have, request less sauce in the food).

Tonight I went against the grain and ordered the boneless ribs and white rice, and VERY satisfied. I usually order Cashew Chicken, which is a top notch mixture of meat, veggies and rice.

The owners may not always have time to be social, but they are hard working and seem to really care about putting out a quality dish. I've never used their sit-down area which is a bit on the sparse side, but that's no reflection on the restaurant.

All told I intend to be a customer as long as possible, and will order from them once or twice a week.“

“Gin Gin might be my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Buffalo! Even as someone who grew up working in Chinese restaurants, Gin Gin has impressed me. First impression, it's an older restaurant, the interior is nothing fancy, but older, which might give the wrong impression but I'm not one to quickly judge until I get my food. So after we sat down, we were given the menu. All Chinese restaurants have a big menu with countless options to choose from, but Gin Gin has by far the largest menu I've ever seen, adding onto the dishes not on the actual menu but posted on the walls. The cool thing is that they serve not just your typical American Chinese food but also some authentic Chinese dishes. So it took me quite some time to decide what to order. I even had to ask the boss for recommendations. She recommended me the Curry Chicken (Chop). Which was unlike the Curry Chicken my family's restaurant used to make or any other restaurant I've been to. The use bone in chicken wing pieces instead of the typical chicken breast/thigh meat. While I do prefer it the typical way, I was down to try something new. The Egg Drop Soup was also great, and it came with a side of Crispy Noodles, which you can add into the soup. But I like dipping it in duck sauce like chips and salsa. The Egg Drop Soup was very flavorful and I believe they use chicken broth/stock instead of just water, which means higher quality! The Beef w Garlic Sauce is something I always love to get when I go to Chinese restaurants, and they made it beautifully. It was full of flavor and better than most Beef w Garlic Sauce I've had. The portions were also great! We left all full and satisfied. Will definitely be back to try other stuff next time!“
