“I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and I’m so glad we finally did. If it were closer, this would easily be our go-to spot for Asian food.

The service was excellent and the staff were some of the friendliest we’ve come across. The Red Pepper Special was incredible — orange crispy beef and shrimp that were perfectly tender and crispy, packed with bold flavor, and beautifully presented.

“I love authentic Chinese food and seek it out when traveling. So, when in the area recently I did some research and this place came up as being probably the most authentic in the Buffalo and Niagara areas, so I went for lunch. Sure enough, their menu is legit, filled with many of the recognizable delicacies you won’t find at the ordinary Chinese-American joints.

Entering the place is odd, they have a weather barrier (those plastic slats) hanging from the door after you open the glass door – very odd placement of them. Inside is rather small and simple, not decorated much, it’s truly a carry-out place that provides table service too. Service was decent, far from fancy.

I decided to try their cumin beef and an order of scallion pancakes. The cumin beef came out first and though I asked for it to be spicy, it most definitely was very mild. The flavor was a little bland overall and this is typically a dry-wok’d type of stir fry with more oil and less sauce, but mine was slightly saucy and lacking flavor completely. The scallion pancakes looked and tasted decent.

Perhaps if I ordered something different I would have enjoyed the food more. I still recommend stopping in if you’re seeking authentic Chinese, I’m sure they have some great dishes here.“

“There's no better Chinese food take-out in Western NY. Great quality and quantity. Best prices. Always served hot and it's double packaged to keep it hot until you get home. We love the Sesame chicken and fantastic boneless spare ribs. We go once or twice a month. Food is always hot and ready before the promised wait period. Since moving to the area we’ve ordered from the closest place to us, and while it was always good it was never really amazing for the price. We decided to venture just a little further tonight and I am so glad we did. Everything was hot, the portions were large enough to have leftovers, and we didn’t spend an arm and a leg. “We finally found a good Chinese Restaurant. Our menu choices were Chicken and broccoli, Egg Fu Yung, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Great taste, and great portion size for the price. Clean and friendly!“

“We've been back to Golden Dragon twice very recently and were quite happy with most items. The menu is huge, so we expect we'll find a lot more to like.

Their lo mein is totally different than when they first opened and I love it now. I got beef the first time, but it comes with very little, so I opted for vegetable the second time. Not a lot of vegetables throughout (mostly on top, as you can see in the photo), but it was really delicious! Both times the lo mein noodles were the perfect firmness and had great flavor. I want it again and again!

Matt didn't enjoy his sesame beef. The batter is too thick, and the beef gets completely lost. I like that they will do sauce on the side. We like to toss it ourselves last minute so that it doesn't get soggy. Better for leftovers, too. They do charge an extra $1.50, but they give you a lot of the sauce.

The wonton soup is amazing! A small is only $3.95 and it comes with five big pork wontons. Makes me happy because I get wonton soup cravings. I'll definitely be getting this again.

The General Tso's Chicken is spot on. The pork egg rolls are good, your typical egg roll. The crab rangoons are also quite good.

Their prices are great and the service has always been friendly. I'm so glad we tried again, they're really close by, makes it very convenient.

“Food was actually some of the better Chinese food that I’ve had in Buffalo. I got chicken lo mein, fried chicken rice, orange chicken, and vegetable spring rolls and everything was very good. Orange chicken were large chicken chunks. Lo mein very good and the fried chicken rice was very good was yellow rice and really liked it. Service was great and right to the point. They use Styrofoam "clamshell" containers, which I'm not a fan of (the old foldout boxes are better), but the portions are generous and they tend to be ready faster than they tell you (I only ever buy 1 or 2 dishes, they always say "5 minutes" and it's already done when I'm counting the last of minute 4). Staff are efficient and not discourteous. And the location is pretty convenient for the east side of Buffalo. Parking hasn't been an issue yet.“

“Gin Gin might be my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Buffalo! Even as someone who grew up working in Chinese restaurants, Gin Gin has impressed me. First impression, it's an older restaurant, the interior is nothing fancy, but older, which might give the wrong impression but I'm not one to quickly judge until I get my food. So after we sat down, we were given the menu. All Chinese restaurants have a big menu with countless options to choose from, but Gin Gin has by far the largest menu I've ever seen, adding onto the dishes not on the actual menu but posted on the walls. The cool thing is that they serve not just your typical American Chinese food but also some authentic Chinese dishes. So it took me quite some time to decide what to order. I even had to ask the boss for recommendations. She recommended me the Curry Chicken (Chop). Which was unlike the Curry Chicken my family's restaurant used to make or any other restaurant I've been to. The use bone in chicken wing pieces instead of the typical chicken breast/thigh meat. While I do prefer it the typical way, I was down to try something new. The Egg Drop Soup was also great, and it came with a side of Crispy Noodles, which you can add into the soup. But I like dipping it in duck sauce like chips and salsa. The Egg Drop Soup was very flavorful and I believe they use chicken broth/stock instead of just water, which means higher quality! The Beef w Garlic Sauce is something I always love to get when I go to Chinese restaurants, and they made it beautifully. It was full of flavor and better than most Beef w Garlic Sauce I've had. The portions were also great! We left all full and satisfied. Will definitely be back to try other stuff next time!“
