“When you travel, you seek to find outstanding restaurants. Sometimes you win, other times, you don't. The Hudson House is a great find, a winner at every turn! From our initial greeting by the owner, Matt, to the great staff who didn't miss a beat, to the most critical part, the food, there wasn't a moment of regret. We started with a couple of tables shares. We had cheese plate with 3 cheeses, homemade fig jam to die for, fresh thinly sliced honeycrisp apples, delicious grapes, and an oil-infused crustini. Perfect start, followed by the burrata and pumpkin seed salad with carmelized pears and sweet potato chunks. I didn't think it could get better after this. I tried the sweet potato and fennel soup, very warm and hearty on a cold night, and the taste was just as I hoped! A beet and farro salad with radishes hit the mark! My partner had a fresh halibut that was cooked to perfection, served on ramen noodles and baby bok choy, with an array of fresh mushrooms, with a gentle but flavorful broth, but not enough to be called soup. To me, one of the best fish dishes I've tasted in a long time. Our guests, the wedding couple, ordered duck breast confit, and hanger steak. The duck, one of her favorites, was tender, most, cooked properly and seasoned well. It was a hit with her and her mother. The hanger steak was the choice of the groom, a very picky eater. He couldn't stop reaching about how amazing it was! Sadly, we were so full, we couldn't eat dessert. All the desserts are homemade by the owner, and they sounded unbelievable. But I'll have to return another time to speak to them. Finally, ask to sit in the jail cell. The pictures tell only some of the story. It's a wine cellar, a hidden romantic getaway, a reprise of days long gone. Or have a seat at the bar with the locals. Or just come and see the beautiful tin ceiling and walls. No matter what you do here, you won't be disappointed.“

The 2nd one was in a short glass with another dry lime wedge that tasted different and not as good as the 1st one. Bad lime season so not the bars fault.Parking: Very small parking lot. Few spots in the street. After hours you can park in the post office parking lot across the street.Wheelchair accessibility: None in the front of building. I don't know about the back.“

On our first visit, we didn't have a reservation, but the staff still accommodated us on a busy Saturday night. The food was exceptional. Immediately, the bartender, Steven/Stephen, starts telling us about the place and it’s rich history. He was so kind and helpful the whole night. He made sure he connected with us for a great experience.We ordered espresso martinis, because obviously. They were INCREDIBLE. You can get it with or without Baileys which was nice. We even got decaf espresso. The level of sweetness was just right. The foam was foaming. They were truly a treat. 10/10. I also ordered a Tiramisu martini which came with a lady finger on top. This was a little stronger but still nice and creamy with great foam. 9/10.The food was absolutely DIVINE. He told us the food is made fresh because they don’t have a freezer..?!?!!? Impressive if true. We started off with the Arancini because they are my religion. Mouthwatering. The rice was perfectly cooked. The crispy outside was amazing. The sauce was smooth and creamy. The tomatoes really came through. I wish the Calabrian chilis poked through a little more for more of a spice. However, the flavors were still balanced. 9/10.The vibes were immaculate! We got there about 7. A DJ started playing music around 9:30. It turned into a club vibe which was shocking. The music was blaring so it did become hard to hear each other. The music was still good though.They do have HH Monday - Friday which seems like really great deals on drinks/food.I would 100000000% come back here and recommend it to anyone. I hope to try their sister restaurant soon, Hudson Prime Steakhouse, which is the only steakhouse in Irvington apparently!!!For me to live in Westchester all my life and to not have heard of this place before is crazy! Went once and now regularly drive an hour just to come here for the red snapper and Pollo al ajillo which is my favorite (huge garlic fan). “Was visiting another store in the plaza and dropped in here for lunch. Wasn't busy so we were able to pick our seats. Nice drink menu and the margarita was large. The salsa tasted really fresh and had a little hint of spice to it. Loved the beef flautas. Service was friendly and fast. We also had a shot of coquito at the end that was delicious!“

“We had some time to kill before an event and this place showed us a great time. Their DJ was fantastic! He knew we weren't regulars and still made us welcome. “Dietary restrictions: I still like the beef but it was actually bison meat. I am on the whole 30 diet. It’s very strict and only allows quality meats, veggies and fruit and that’s it. I was reluctant to get any sort of “fast food”. But I did not find fast food at Bareburger. It’s obviously the highest quality meats and ingredients. I had a double bison burger filled with caramelized onions and avocado and wrapped in collard green wrap. The food was of very high-quality and it was delicious. The bison was lean but not dried out like a hockey puck it was moist and tasty. Overall it was a great choice than a great experience. Even though it was a pick up both the server and bartender that helped me were very helpful and pleasant. As my massage therapist is in town I will be back!“

First blush as you walk in your imported to a different era with the wait staff in appropriate outfits and the walls and music surround you with that “ speakeasy “ feel! Our server, Karissa was spot on with her comfortable way she welcomed us and explained the specials. We shared some of the offerings since they listed some as half or full order and Brussel sprout sides was excellent. All in all we will go back for sure.“

“Santiago was a great server, he knew the menu very well, he recommended almost everything on the menu to the point we let him chose our meals and it was all wonderful. Everything was great, the service, the food came out in a timely matter, there was water ready at the table to quench our thirst. For 4 people spent $200, that's with an appetizer 2 entrees. We had a kid who had fries and someone who had a soup special and buffalo wings (they ate before getting there). No cocktails, 4 sodas; that's gratuity included. Overall, the ambiance is great, right by the train, across from the waters, plenty of parking.“

The staff was amazing, they checked in on us multiple times and filled our water every time we needed a refill without having to ask. “It was a nice place to have a meal. Kind of mid-lit trendy place. It was comfortable and our waitress was really friendly. Come to think of it, the hostess was really nice too. That set a good tone for the evening and we all loved our food. The Waygu burger in particular was amazing and cooked to perfection. The prices are a little high in general, but I would say they are about normal for Ridgewood. They have good cocktails for $18 each and they also have some nice local beers. There is a small side room that it looks like you could rent out, and it looks like it holds like 15 people or so.“
