New American Restaurants near Pleasantville, NY

“Wanted to give a shout out to the restaurant, Freddy’s, in Pleasantville. Went with a couple of girlfriends a few weeks ago and then again with my hubby last week. Both meals were delicious. The appetizers are yummy! Most of all, though, I wanted to remark on the atmosphere. The people in charge are just delightful. Had a chance to meet the owner. He told me he named the restaurant after his grandfather ( forgive, it might have been his father). Either way I thought it was nice. He has a young family and loves what he does. They have been open for two years, but I just found them now. If you haven’t checked them out, you should soon!“

“My girlfriends and I was just at Moderne Barn last night. It was my first time eating here. I have to say the overall environment was very friendly, welcoming, beautiful. By the way I love the chandeliers. We sat upstairs - very nice area. Plenty of people eating here. The food and drinks I may add is very delicious. I had salmon and white wine and sangria. Have to say no complaints. The staff very very nice and friendly. Highly highly recommend. Thank you Moderne Barn for a lovely ladies night out!“

“We came for a saturday brunch and it was nothing short of excellent. The manager greeted us and we had some drinks at the bar. The bartender gave us some great recommendations for the menu and the owner even came over to us and introduced himself which was very nice. We got the meatballs, rockshrimp and calamari, lobster guacamole, and burrata which were all incredible and great shareables for us. 5/5 and will definitely be back.“

“I have celiac and nut allergy and they were able to accommodate me. I had the steak sandwich and unfortunately the steak was low quality. it had tendons in it. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich it was average. But they served us quickly, even though it was busy because we had to catch a plane..“

“The food is excellent. Best burger in Westchester. And if the pulled poro empanadas are on menu they are a must order. Beer selection is excellent. The service is top notch. The atmosphere is fantastic especially in the bar area with a view of the river and bridge. Overall this is one of the best taverns I have ever been to.“

“First time at Kee's & it was a great experience. Went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. No crowds, easy parking. Food was very good except lobster bisque soup very salty. Raw clams excellent as were the baked clams. Salmon & branzino dishes also excellent. Service was A+“

“Parking is a BIG issue for this restaurant, just a suggestion for Valet services in the future. The food however was FANTASTIC..had the grilled ( not fried ) Calamari and the filet Mignon and lobster tail. Both were seasoned and cooked to perfection and served at the right temperature, portion size was generous. But most importantly the fish was not fishy smelling or tasting which means the quality of food is good. I will definitely go back on an off night to see if parking is any better.. but strongly suggest Valet.“

“One of my favorite places for dinner. The calamari with Thai chili sauce is amazing. Our waiter Angel is fantastic. All of their food is delicious and fresh. Their desserts are amazing. I understand their brunch is awesome but yet to try that. Plenty of parking. Just a beautiful family run business.“

“It's been a while since I had been to Freelance but was reminded as soon as I walked in why I loved it there. I was greeted at the door, was seated immediately and while I waited for my friend to join me, I was very comfortable. The food was delicious, I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly along with a wedge salad to start, and should add it was the best dressing I've had in a while! I look forward to going back, perfect for a date night or an evening out with a friend. The bar area looked very friendly and comfortable, I would have no problem stopping in for a drink if I was in the area. Highly recommend on all levels.“

“This is a good chain with consistent Burgers and decent Fries, but the winner is the chicken sandwich and Gluten free fried chicken and collard green wraps.
The shakes are decent but $11 .
No frills decent bar but gluten free buns are little too thick that takes away from the burger..“

“Care and concern were the hallmarks of Mariposa starting with responsiveness when I asked Chef questions about the menu offerings even before making the reservation. Very flexible and accommodating with the menu resulting in many more offerings to choose from for those with challenging dietary restrictions. The staff created a special table arrangement for our group given mobility limitations. And then the wait staff consistently demonstrated their light touch at the right moment to meet our needs, answering questions, providing refills and options for consideration. I look forward to dining at Mariposa more regularly and hope that you will also.“

“The Tapp is the quintessential local bar. The staff are very friendly, the burgers are phenomenal (as is everything else on the menu), and the prices are more than reasonable. If you find yourself in Tarrytown for shopping or seeing a show at The Music Hall, make a stop at The Tapp a part of the experience. Better still, make the trip just to visit The Tapp alone. It really is a great place to hang out with friends, catch a singer, play Tuesday Night Trivia, or have a terrific meal.“

Everything we ordered was great, but our bartender, Neschmy, definitely elevated our experience. She was super professional, very knowledgeable about the menu, and gave great recommendations (plus makes great espresso martini’s). Would definitely come back and sit at her bar again.“

“First time eating here. Appreciate the order kiosk, so that I can make sure my order is entered correctly. Food (burger, fries and shake) were presented to me as ordered and were pretty good tastewise. Entered the premises at about 7:15 on a Friday night, so there was a lot of traffic. They have an outdoor eating area that appeared pleasant, although we stayed inside to track our order and decided to remain in place once it arrived. Wait was long (15-20 minutes) but that's not a surprise considering the time of day. The staff appeared to be going all out to get the orders through, so kudos to them. Will definitely consider returning here if in the area. Restaurant is located in a shopping center, just off of 287, so there is plenty of parking.“

“My family and I went to Truck for the second time with some of our relatives, and we loved it just as much as the first visit. The food was amazing, so filling but still so delicious! I ordered three tacos: fish, pork, and chicken. Even though I was full after the first one, they were so good that I couldn’t stop and ended up finishing all three! Therefore, I’d recommend not ordering too much at once. For dessert, we pretty much shared everything on the menu, and I loved every single one! There was even a chocolate dessert—which I usually don’t like—and I ended up loving it too. The service was excellent; our waitress was super friendly, greeted us warmly, and kept checking in to make sure we were enjoying everything! The atmosphere made it all even better: casual, lively, and perfect for a fun family dinner.“

“We had a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration at The Kittle House Inn on Saturday, October 11th.

We worked with Katina Rodriguez at the venue to plan the event. The venue has been recently renovated and it is just beautiful; a lovely upscale venue with gorgeous light and windows that give such pretty views.

The food was fabulous, the bartender was great with the guests, our maitre d was very attentive and the valet guys were friendly and so helpful with our guests.

I would highly recommend this venue for any special event.“
