New American Restaurants near Pleasantville, NY

“Wanted to give a shout out to the restaurant, Freddy’s, in Pleasantville. Went with a couple of girlfriends a few weeks ago and then again with my hubby last week. Both meals were delicious. The appetizers are yummy! Most of all, though, I wanted to remark on the atmosphere. The people in charge are just delightful. Had a chance to meet the owner. He told me he named the restaurant after his grandfather ( forgive, it might have been his father). Either way I thought it was nice. He has a young family and loves what he does. They have been open for two years, but I just found them now. If you haven’t checked them out, you should soon!“

“My girlfriends and I was just at Moderne Barn last night. It was my first time eating here. I have to say the overall environment was very friendly, welcoming, beautiful. By the way I love the chandeliers. We sat upstairs - very nice area. Plenty of people eating here. The food and drinks I may add is very delicious. I had salmon and white wine and sangria. Have to say no complaints. The staff very very nice and friendly. Highly highly recommend. Thank you Moderne Barn for a lovely ladies night out!“

“This is a wonderful restaurant that has gotten even better over the years. Food has consistently been fabulous, and the service could not be better. Amiable staff, beautiful location, and now we have the bonus of a new parking lot. I travel from New Jersey to meet Westchester family and friends a couple of times a year. Never disappointed. Maybe a little pricey, but isn't everywhere these days, and I never regret the expense.“

“I dined at Lily's with my family for Sunday brunch. We were very happy with the food and service. Our servers were friendly and attentive. The food was great and came out quickly. I had the avocado toast, which was fresh. We all had dessert which included the gluten free brownie, peanut butter mousse, and crème brûlée. All of them were delicious and we cleared our plates. We will definitely be returning!“

“This restaurant is almost a secret. It has a very unassuming facade. Inside it feels like a posh Manhattan eatery in the middle of White Plains. The food is delicious with an elegant presentation. I love that it looks at the fountain on Main Street. So peaceful. Service is also top notch.“

“Sweetest cafe in Irvington, New York. Clean space, service is smooth and quick, food is fresh, and they have an array of pastry options. We tried the honey turkey sandwich, tiramisu, and cappuccino- everything was just right and the portions perfect. You’ll feel at home inside; ideal for breakfast, brunch or for study. Side note that it is Albanian owned and operated, so we already knew it would be good. Can’t wait to be back! ????“

The only problem with the service is that the bartender also has to wait tables, so everything slows down. Prices are reasonable for Westchester, and the place has a very relaxed vibe.“

“The Tapp is the quintessential local bar. The staff are very friendly, the burgers are phenomenal (as is everything else on the menu), and the prices are more than reasonable. If you find yourself in Tarrytown for shopping or seeing a show at The Music Hall, make a stop at The Tapp a part of the experience. Better still, make the trip just to visit The Tapp alone. It really is a great place to hang out with friends, catch a singer, play Tuesday Night Trivia, or have a terrific meal.“

“My husband and I got to the restaurant before the huge crowd arrived on Saturday. The bartender was fabulous but was making drinks for the entire restaurant which you could tell she was overwhelmed, understandably so. They should have had at least 3 bartenders on with the amount of business they had. By the time we were finished with our meal, which was delicious, the place was a total zoo with the volume of business. I think a lot of the bad reviews come from the staff being completely overwhelmed by the amount of people showing up. If they had double the staff it wouldn't be so bad.“

“Place is cool I go often. Food is usually great. Staff are ok. Some seem a bit stressed or not in the mood to work. My BIGGEST issue is the Maintanence. One the decor should be upgraded but that’s a not a real deal breaker. The mess from previous customers are never cleaned up promptly. Every time I go there is at least two to three tables that need to be cleaned. Also the “clean” tables never look cleaned properly.Now I don’t know if they are understaff but restaurant presentation is VERY important. The maintenance should match the quality of food.“
