“Fantastic speakeasy sushi joint. Very small, no more than an handful of people may join the omasake style bar where 3 talented (and cool) chefs serve you the best crafted sushi you can get. Definitely going back soon.“

“I'll try to keep this to the point —
I gave Food/Service/Atmosphere 5 🌟 because they were on par for me. For a local spot, this really took me by surprise.
What I ordered:
Miso Soup:
Standard Miso Soup, nothing groundbreaking, but very tasty. Would have loved a tad more tofu & scallion, but that's just me.
Salmon Avocado Hand roll:
Not the hand roll I expected meaning it wasn't in the cone shape I'm familiar with, but it came presented like a taco with the seaweed as the shell. Salmon cuts were huge, and with great colour, avocado was bright & ripe, coupled with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted clean, and fresh.
Yellowtail Jalapeno Nigiri:
I messed up with this, originally I wanted a sushi roll, but my brain flubbed. Great mistake though, because the yellowtail was delicious, practically melted in my mouth, topped with a delicate cut of jalapeno on top.
Love Milk Tea:
Honestly, just a really delicious milk tea topped with osmanthus flower. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet thankfully.
Wagyu Tataki:
Tataki is meant to be briefly seared on the outside, but the center remains raw. Was this seared to the degree I wanted? No. But, was it delicious? Yes. And the meat was incredibly tender, flavour of the sauces really complimented everything on the plate.
I finished off with a matcha cheesecake to go, I'm sure it'll be good.
With tip, I spent $67
Again, for a local spot in Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Personally, with slight adjustments, these folks would do great in midtown. I spent a little under what I would spend at a restaurant in the city, and got an incredibly satisfying meal, and left full.“

“It’s the best sushi place in ridgewood without a doubt by every metric imaginable. But please I’m begging for the love of nori, please stop blasting country music at all hours of every day. I want so badly to sit and enjoy my food but this music is making my spicy crab taste like baked beans and confederacy.“

“A laid-back omakase spot in Long Island City offering incredible value. For $118, you get 18 courses with generous portions and sushi fishes were fresh and tender. On top of that, they served us complimentary sake, and the service was warm and attentive (they gave us a handwritten bday card too!). Overall, it’s a true bang-for-your-buck experience and a highly recommended choice for a night out in LIC!!“

“Great hole in the wall omakase. My girlfriend and I did the $95 course omakase. I tend to always go to Manhattan for omakase, but this place restores my faith in Queens! The tuna caviar hand roll was so excellent, I had to order it twice. Check it out at least once.“

“Great place for a quick bite at a nice price! I had the Thinly Sliced Beef Donburi. It also came with egg, seaweed salad, and a nice miso soup to top it off. The beef was cooked very well and had a smoky flavor I’ve had in some of my favorite places in Japan. Would definitely come back here! 😁“

“This elegant sushi spot is a true gem serving everything from ultra-fresh sashimi to creative à la carte dishes—all packed with authentic Japanese flavor. 🍣
The sashimi was incredibly fresh, but the pizza sushi completely stole the show—crispy, flavorful, and unlike anything I’ve had before.
If you're craving top-tier sushi without the Manhattan crowds, this is your sign. Save this spot—you’ll thank me later. 😉🫶“

“Discovered this amazing sushi spot through Google Maps! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly at a fair price. I especially enjoyed the special roll and shrimp dumplings. The service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend Sushi of Miso for dine-in or takeout if you’re nearby.“

“Sushi yoshi was one of the only spots open before noon so we gave it a shot! Everything was fresh - exactly what you might want from the spicy rolls and the eel avocado was definitely our favorite. Don’t sleep on the Korean fried wings - the texture was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We were hoping for the spicy wings but got original instead I think - either way they were quality and delivery was fast.“

“We went Saturday night as a party of 5. The staff were very welcoming and the food was really good. I normally don’t finish all my food for hibachi but i definitely enjoyed my filet mignon and salmon. Lychee martini 10/10 it was sooo good and no coconut milk was included so that was a plus. Great place. Must try’“

“Food its great but there’s always an actitud when delivery, we’re paying for the food and giving tip it passed no more than a minute since the doorbell rang we live in the 3rd floor we can’t open the door the second the door rang we have to go down 3 floors he/she was complaining. We like the food, we will order again hope your costumer service improves!!!!!“

“Wasn't table to take pics of my orders but already got take out here twice in two consecutive nights! If you're looking for affordable but good sushi, this is definitely the place. They have a promo any 3 rolls for $16.50 :) I was able to get my takeout within 10 of ordering. Great service too. Highly recommend this little gem!“

“This was some of the best street food I’ve come across in NYC, from this restaurant’s food truck stand outside of the World Trade Center. The okonomiyaki tastes just like it does in Japan, and served in the same style - even with dancing fish flakes on top! Highly recommended for authentic Japanese food!
Friend trying it for the first time says: ‘very good medley of flavors, especially the pickled ginger on top’.“

“It’s almost embarrassing how much I order from Kumo. Their teriyaki lunch platter is unbeatable pricewise and is so tasty. They know how to do tofu and salmon right and the rolls are always fresh. It’s a takeout spot so don’t plan to eat in. Food is ready quick and always hits the spot.“

“Abi has been my go-to Japanese in Astoria for nearly 10 years. They have hands down, THE best veg udon soup I've ever had. My partner and i order it regularly along with any of their many incredible vegan rolls. I wish they would label everything that's vegan as vegan, because they have an honestly impressive amount of options, and it's literally ALL good. Tofu nuggets, sweet potato, pumpkin, oh my... Their haru maki rolls are also vegan, and absolutely delicious.
Their service is helpful and kind. They called to clarify the type of tofu I wanted to add, and when something I wanted was NOT vegan. May you live forever, Abi!“

“The owner is always super friendly and the food is good. We leave feeling full and the food is fairly priced!
The waitress usually offers us hot tea, on the house, which is very nice and helps in the cold weather.
If you can, go in person. Going in person here is such a more satisfying experience than over paying a delivery app with a bunch of fees. Great service. Great food. Great value. Can’t ask for much more!“

“Seriously deliciously hearty Salmon Skin Salad the real way, and super fresh sushi a la carte. Relatively big portions at very reasonable prices. There are other Japanese options within this area’s restaurant jungle, but this one is a must try for a humble yet fully authentic quality.“

“This is a pretty decent sushi place. I got a platter and I was very satisfied with the sushi.
It's pretty expensive but it's about what I'd expect a platter that big to cost. It even comes with a free drink.
It's not the best sushi I've had, but it is not as bad as the other reviews would have me believe.“

“The food was really good and the price was unbeatable compared to neighboring hibachi restaurants. They were very patient in accommodating my large group of 22 people in light of several guests arriving late. I will definitely be coming back!“
“Great selection of fresh sushi with reasonable price. I’ve had yellow scallion rolls, salmon avocado rolls, salmon bowl, and chirashi bowl. I don’t find many places that sell chirashi bowl, highly recommend it. Though chirashi is on the pricier side, they use uni (sea urchin), a premium ingredient, while the salmon don is topped with ikura (salmon roe). The taste and the fish quality totally justified the price. They have two tables outdoor and a bench under the tree. Location is convenient and very close to Hunter’s Point Park. The employees are friendly and gave you informations, their food is always refilled because they have their own kitchen. Wasabi is not included so make sure to ask at the register.“
