Had the smoked pork sandwich with coleslaw on it. A phenomenal pairing Tried the bbq spaghetti which nearly blew me outta my seat!!! The bbq sauce was epic! @strangebird you need to shrink the size of the bbq spaghetti to a fries size and server them with the handhelds in place of French fries with that bbq sauce. Cuz heck yes! That bbq sauce on the side as a dipper 🤩🤩🤩. Great job to the staff. Bigger vehicles might wanna park on the street. If it’s busy, the parking lot is very narrow.”

This unassuming place from the outside pleasantly surprises once you enter with its quaint bar area, blacked out ceiling and twin open kitchen stations. First litmus test is the quality of bread with a full complement of spices to prep your own dipping oil. Check! Special of the day, Seared Halibut on a bed of risotto, didn’t disappoint, nor did my samples of homemade Rigatoni à la Bolognese (just like Mom’s Sunday sauce) or the Chicken Milanese! Completed the meal with an ample slice of homemade Ricotta Cheesecake with Berry Compote. The owner checked in with us several times. The table service was perfect. The glass enclosed wine cellar in the middle of the dining area completed an impressive ambience and dining experience. Run don’t walk to this most pleasant gastro treat!”

We’ve been twice and are going back with friends to share the experience. Our first time was taking our daughter there before she moved to Spain 🇪🇸 and again for our anniversary 🍾🥂. The shaved asparagus salad, grilled octopus, duck, corn dog and chicken shawarma were all excellent! I can’t wait to go back to try more!”

“This space was amazing! It was stress free to book and to plan my event. Everyone was so helpful and our bartender, Hilery was fantastic. We definitely had more than enough space for all our guests and the venue didn't even need any extra decorations. We had plenty of time to set up and take down. All afternoon my guests were telling me Fairport Brewing was a wonderful place to have a party. I am sure if I need to have a party again, I will definitely come here. The only downside (and it's not really big) is some people had a hard time finding it. In my invite I made sure to tell everyone it is not in Fairport but University Ave. I also wish there was a sign hanging on the front of the venue so people definitely could see it as they drive back. The negative is not even a real negative, just a suggestion. It really was a wonderful time.”

I booked them because the manager Joe was sooo friendly, responsive, and helpful right from the first communication. The food was awesome and we got nothing but compliments the entire time. Their staff was quick and organized and everything ran smoothly. They weren’t expecting tips from any of our guests which was unexpectedly generous but they absolutely deserved them. Highly recommend working with Joe and his team if you want a delicious and easy crowd-pleasing event!”

Got our food very quickly and the food was just as great as the service, we love eating at Famous Dave’s (large chain of restaurants) and I have to be honest, this place is much better. All of the sauces are good, they have something for pretty much any taste out there. The seasonal side of corn casserole was amazing, if they have it when you stop in, GET IT!!

The only thing I was disappointed in ( which wasn’t any of these peoples doing) was my porterhouse steak. For the money, it should have been a nice cut. It was an end cut, one that even some stores don’t use…let alone a very upscale restaurant. It was also supposed to be med rare n was med. I didn’t send it back because st least it was pink, but it was well past med rare. My crab cake was very good. The lobster and crab mac and cheese was also very good. I’d definitely recommend and go back. Just not sure if I’d get the porterhouse again. Probably go with just the filet.”

You can tell the staff really loves their jobs and they give excellent attention and service to patrons. The owner John and his wife Elizabeth have truly mastered the art of upscale diner cuisine. Although many people love the ultra delicious pancakes, I was ecstatic when they added crepes. The cheesecake crepes with berries paired with a side of bacon are the perfect pairing of sweet and savory. I will definitely be a regular customer.”

The wine is exquisite; something for every palate. The space is beautiful; inviting and comfortable through the changing of the seasons. The windows are wide open with fresh air in warmer months and the tasting room is cozy during our typical upstate winters. The staff is exceptional and make you feel like you are at home. The host and the servers were impeccable. Sassy, funny, and attentive to a T, we were incredibly impressed and immediately relaxed with the atmosphere and the people. The ricotta appetizer was incredibly and reminded me of a favorite dish in Florence Italy, and the swordfish was perfection. Drinks were delicious, so thank you to the obviously talented bartender, as those were very much needed after our long drive. There was road and parking lot construction and since we weren't use to the area , we didn't know there was a ramp to help my mother, but every staff member was so courteous and friendly helping my mom and my 15 year old get them both in (while I went to park the car). The excellent customer service didn't stop there......... throughout our meal, water was filled up and they especially made sure my mother was comfortable! I happened to catch a food bag available on the Too Good To Go app and bought it immediately! I already knew the food would be delicious, so I knew I would enjoy whatever I got. Not long after I purchased the bag, I remembered that I bought movie tickets for myself and my family to see a movie that would only be showing through today. My pickup window was during the movie. I reached out to everyone I knew and they either couldn't pick the bag up for me or didn't answer. With time running out, I tried calling the restaurant to see if we could arrange for me to pick up later, from someone's house or even another day. When I told them I was hoping it would be my last meal before surgery tomorrow, they asked for my information and offered to DELIVER my meal to my house!!! I arrived home a few minutes before the delivery was made and Cassie's daughter hand delivered my food. I truly wanted to cry and give her a hug! NEVER have I experienced such outstanding service - even if I wasn't already a repeat customer, I certainly would have become one tonight. I will be singing the praises of Cassie's Citchen EVERYWHERE I go!!! I have a cousin due with a baby soon and I'll be ordering several meals for the family when they're home from the hospital. “After a tip from friends, we checked out Merchants Wood Fired Pizza & Bistro. It's in an out of the way location, but is so worth your trip. Nestled in a city neighborhood, this place is delicious with a super cute patio. Food gave off an "Old School Italian American" vibe in the best possible way. We enjoyed flavorful housemade meatballs in a great sauce. Burrata was tasty with the most delicious charred tomatoes (we omitted the prosciutto at one diner's preference). The salads were just the right size if you wanted to have those and split a pizza, which two of us did. The Funghi Pizza was tasty and had just the right amount of truffle (some places go overboard). This was a super hit -- very crave-able! For our pickier diner, the Spicy Cup Pepperoni Pizza was the perfect option. Both pizzas had a nice crust, baked nicely, and a perfect amount of cheese. Service was friendly and attentive. Everyone greatly enjoyed the meal. We'll definitely return.”

My only reason it's not 5 stars is that we had a weird miscommunication with he server. 2 people at the table asked for a side of churros and the other had chicken and churro entree. The server came over and said that they can't do the churros and so the person with the chicken and churros ordered side of fries instead and they 2 others with the sides of churros asked for sides of bacon instead. Fast forward, all of us got our entress instead of 1 person. They waited 15 minutes longer than everyone else. Then all of a sudden 3 sides of churros came out. The server said ok the kitchen is trying these. So now at this point everyone had their replacement sides and now 3 sides of churros. We assumed they "were testing them" since that's what the server said and they would be on the house since now that's too much food. But when we got the bill we were charged for the curros and the other sides. It was just confusing overall with the communication on that and then also we got charged for sides and the cjurros when we wanted 1 or the other not both. The manager, which I think is the owner was very nice and they comped the churros. It sounded like the server told them that we didn't like the churros, but it was more of the principle of being charged. Would definitely go back, I would never hold a miscommunication against a restaurant, but just wanted to voice a few things. Overall cool new spot”

They were easy to work with, gave us a great deal and checked in a few times to make sure everything was on schedule. When I arrived for pick-up they greeted me at the door by my first name with smiles just like I was family. They also helped to load everything into my trunk. A few days after the event they even checked in to see how everything went! This is how you run a business! It’s hard in 2023 to find an establishment with that kind of class and professionalism. Poached egg was done perfectly with yolk that walked out of the white, rather than ran. Biscuit was brown and flaky with buttery and salty goodness. Nailed the strawberry danish real proper like with flaky and soft pastry and wholesome compote. Came back for dinner a few days later and the scallops were delicious with the perfect juicy and soft (but not raw) texture. It had a basil and herbed beats that I could eat—and I don’t eat beats. Ricotta cnocchi was so damn smooth it slid down the gullet with ease; no heavy chewing or rich resistance. Haven’t even had the pork chop I ordered yet but suspect it will be on point. Regardless, the delivery of all the above warrants a 5 star rating. Highly recommend. Mad props to the chef and cooks.”

For the non-sushi eater, don't hesitate to order their ramen. It is wonderfully prepared. Service has also always been friendly and fast. Special requests were accommodated with a smile. Prices are reasonable and the portions are good. If the weather is nice, enjoy dinner on their patio. This is one of our favorite spots in the city. It will not disappoint!”

“The Hideaway hosted an event for us in their back room and it an amazing experience. Food and service were far beyond what we expected. We were having a hard time booking a different venue for our event so I reached out to Max just in case it fell through. Max responded to my inquiry right away and set up a call to discuss the plans for our event. He offered to hold the room for a couple days while we made our decision, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Based on that interaction alone, we canceled on the original venue we had been communicating with for months and went with Max and the Hideaway. I wish I had known they did events earlier. They were amazing! They were flexible on the time, let us arrange the tables in the room as needed, were very personable and somehow knew exactly when to come by to get us more food and drinks. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience... I'd rate them higher if I could! If you are looking for an event or party venue in Rochester, look no futher”

I asked Erin for oil and vinegar and cheese for my bread she brought it all out. Erin stopped by several times for refills on drink and more cheese and bread. She did an awesome job. What a good decision!!😄 Upon taking the food out I could see in the prime rib container and viewed this beautiful pink. Prime was an inch thick, huge cut and cooked perfectly. Huge helping of pencil thin asparagus with ends trimmed and a heaping portion of potatoes. Special also included a nice side Caesar salad and a pizookie for dessert. Caesar next day for lunch. Leftover prime, potatoes and asparagus for dinner and still had a chunk of prime and asparagus left. Kudos to your kitchen staff and other staff members who packed up my order and included everything!! Hang on to whoever is doing your smoking!!”

“Small cafe tucked in on Monroe Street, my first visit, personally I only go for hot tea, but today I went for hot sweet, boiled, frothy milk, dusted with cocoa, and some sugar gummy like square in a tooth pick, on the side. I was biting this sugar cube, in between my sips of milk. This cube had flavor of rose water and kewra, a familiar taste for me, it's used for flavor in sweet things in India. It was fun. I loved the place, quite, simple, place.”

“☀️🍜🥢 We checked out ROC Pho Shop today over near RIT. It’s a cozy little place with a lovely patio. We tried shrimp tom yum soup, papaya salad, fresh and fried spring rolls, brisket pho, and pineapple fried rice. Everything was fantastic. This may be the best pho that we’ve tried in Rochester! Service was great as well.”

“IM OBSESSED! Its so cute and quaint in here. The person working was super nice, the matcha was super good, and the cherry jam pastry was TO DIE FOR. Like i dreamt about it. if i lived closer id come every day. there was also a small selection of trinkets and books that were really neat! And i really appreciated the single stall bathroom. overall the vibes were unbeatable and i felt very safe in there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“I have taken my son here once and then my boyfriend last night. This is an ideal spot for literally anyone. The atmosphere is so calm and inviting with beautiful traditional details. The food is exceptional with tons to choose from and it’s reasonably priced. We left full and relaxed with leftovers. Highly recommend!”

“Ate here while visiting family in the area. Service was excellent and the food was great. I ordered the Cajun catfish with Harlem potato salad and coleslaw as my choice of sides. A server brought us a plate of BBQ samples to try. Everything was good. On-street parking available plus a nearby parking ramp (for a fee). The place was noisy but had a great vibe.”
