“One of my go to places! New City roasts their own coffee beans but more than that, the heart behind this little cafe is priceless! It is an organization established to help others within the community so every purchase you make goes back into supporting the local community -- what's not to love! The food is delicious and all of the prices are reasonable and honestly cheaper than most coffee shops without compromising on quality! Plenty of seating and they really go the extra mile to accommodate customer needs and preferences! Can't say enough good things about this spot!“

The egg tarts are especially delicious, and beware, if you buy 3 you might end of eating all of them. The coffee is beyond delicious and especially smooth. I look forward to going back and trying their breakfast/lunch items. Jenny and her staff are sweet, patient, and positive. The overall ambiance is clean and there is a neat bathroom available for customers. I stayed for about 2 hours to get work done, and it's that perfect level of background noise + the caffeine rush helped me through my mid day blues.“

“Everything about the experience there was fantastic. The cocktails were perfectly balanced, whomever was making drinks knew what they were doing, it was a great subtle blending of flavors. We ordered apps that came out promptly and blew us away right from the start. We had the wheat berry risotto which we ordered just because it sounded interesting and it ended up being more delicious than anything we had had in Rochester in a long time. The entrees, also perfectly timed were also great. We had the pork chop and the skirt steak. The pork chop was the best dish for sure. The sage chimichurri and corn hominy that came with it were such an amazing combination. Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly portioned. The server described everything so well that she sold us on dessert even though we were stuffed by the end of the meal. We had a grilled lemon pound cake that hit with a citrusy brightness that perfectly ended the meal.I loved it. Highly recommend. Definitely up there as some of the best food and drinks in the city.Parking: There is a ton of parking there. It's the Public Market area, it can fit hundreds. No worries with parking. “Winter Swan Coffee isn't just a caffeine pit stop, it's a new Rochester ritual. From the moment you step into their stunning new space, you're met with smiles that could melt even the iciest December wind. The baristas are absolute wizards, brewing up deliciousness while chatting like old friends. But let's talk coffee, shall we? Every sip of Winter Swan is a revelation. Smooth, expertly roasted beans meet creative flavor combinations that keep your taste buds tangoing. Their seasonal offerings are a constant source of delight, from the cozy embrace of a Gingerbread Matcha Latte to my new favorite, the swan cloud. Whether you're a classic latte lover or a daring espresso explorer, Winter Swan has something to set your heart singing. And speaking of the new space, it's simply delightful. Practical and beautiful, it strikes the perfect balance between cozy corners and airy vibes. It's the kind of place you want to settle in with a good book, linger over a conversation, or simply watch the world go by with a steaming cup in hand. So, when someone asks me where to find the best coffee in Rochester, my answer is always the same: Winter Swan. Even the simplest menu item is sure to please! The Lobster Bisque is especially out of this world and hard to beat. ( Come on L&B give the people more LB! )The service at Leaf & Bean is always friendly and expedited well. Leaf & Bean is clean, organized and well maintained. The owner frequents the store and I have seen him play many rolls to keep this cafe’ thriving. The atmosphere is happening at mealtime yet completely inspiring for this local author’s out of house writing time. “It may have taken me over a year to finally remember the name of this spot, but I'm obsessed. I recommend it to everyone I know, too. I don't even live in Rochester but this is where I buy my coffee. There are some roasts from different locals than what you may typically find, like Malawi and Sulawesi. It's all good, and all becomes a matter of personal coffee preferences.Someone mentioned the staff here not being nice or friendly, but I've had great interactions with them all. The baristas bust their butts and the coffee area employees put up with my many coffee questions. Prices went up in May to $18/pound from $16, I believe; they clearly communicated it was due to rising costs and paying their coffee suppliers a decent rate. I still think it's a fair price--some places charge than price for 12 ounces versus a full pound.“

“I also love the coffee, But I will not go back to store. I did go on the 9th of month I heard that coffee was $2 off a pound. So I was expecting it to be busy. I entered the store and there was a person that told me to go back outside and wait. Ok I did what I was told, this was my first time here. I looked in store there was only 3 people in it? the sales person came out and asked me what I wanted after a couple minutes, I said coffee. She wanted me to oder out on the sidewalk, I wanted to shop. I did know what I was looking for but I felt like this was a drive through and not a store. I will look for a different way to find this coffee, I will pay the higher price for better service.11/10/2023I received a note from the manager (Lex) note below."Hi Kyle, We do this for our sale on the 9th of every month to ensure safety for our customers and our staff. We are diligently running around the store to fill day-of orders. We put flavor lists on the window for customer convenience, as we know we have quite a few choices. If you don't enjoy this particular setup, I would suggest coming to the store on another day besides the 9th, or ordering online/ahead of the 9th to still have the sale price."Thanks Lex for explaining the reason the store is setup like this. I will change my rating to reflect your note.“
