“I had espresso and it was really good i was surprised!! They have option for food too looked good, the price was ok. They close at 5pm i went there at 5.05 again for coffee and food but i was late. Should be open more till 6.00pm maybe but its ok all good.“

“I called two days ago to order a breakfast catered for my sons’s friends from college that were coming for the weekend. The girl on the phone was very helpful assisting me with selections. I ordered two bagel platters and two muffin platters along with 1/2 tray of each bacon and sausage. On pick up the staff was very pleasant and assisted me to my car. The kids enjoyed it all and we have enough left for breakfast tomorrow morning for them too. Thank you!!!“

“Delicious Diner.

Exactly what you expect when you picture a diner. No frills, cheap, and exceptionally average food. It gets the job done, with the kind of gritty atmosphere you’d expect from a place that’s been serving neighborhood regulars for years.

I had the cheeseburger, while the person next to me was chowing down on chicken parm and spaghetti. The cheeseburger tasted like it came straight out of the freezer. It reminded me of the kind I used to get at the bowling alley as a kid.

10/10 recommend. Will return.“

Buddies Coffee is a very small coffee shop planted on a mostly residential block of Alphabet City. the interior is colorful. there's are a couple of chairs inside but no tables as the space is quite compact with most of the space taken up by the coffee bar, but the the vibe is modern and cozy. the exterior has chairs set up on the sidewalk as that is where most of the seating is... very clean, neatly arranged coffee shop with a variety of house-roasted bags of coffee beans for those who make their own coffee. the coffee drinks menu is fairly concise with your usual suspects of espressos, cappuccinos, etc. as well as some signature drinks. the coffee, here, is consistently good. the roast is aromatic and the flavor smoothed layered. enjoyed the drip coffee, Americanos, and cortados...and none have disappointed. the coffee shop, itself, is very much a neighborhood spot as the hours are limited with closing times being on the earlier side. if you're in Alphabet City or the East Village then Buddies Coffee is well worth your time.“

“This is the best coffee shop in the neighborhood. The staff (shout out Elvis) is incredibly kind and make you feel like the only customer they've ever known. He comes to my dog's birthday parties if that tells you anything. The shop is clean yet dog friendly, small but warm and sunny. The food is INCREDIBLE. I could drink a small swimming pool of their lemonade. Just go - get a biscuit. Or a sandwich. Or a banan bread. I could go on and on.“

In the city full of world class roasters (Sey, La Cabra, Canyon, etc.) I find Ben’s bean selection more interesting than most of the above. And what’s even more important, shots are consistently perfectly dialed in and exceptionally well served.

“Love Farm to People so much! I just started a month ago and have gotten several deliveries since. Always such fresh fruit and produce, something I can't get in the grocery stores near me. They have an excellent selection of pantry goods too. I like their prepared dishes and plan on trying more this week.

Customer service has always been so responsive and I've had addresses changed, items changed, etc., just from texting them like I would with a friend. Super happy that I gave this service a try.“

I grabbed their iced cold matcha alongside the double sausage sandwich with everything on it, and honestly, both delivered. The sandwich is hearty, flavorful, and seriously filling—one serving is more than enough to keep you fueled. The front area runs a bit tight, but there are a few tables tucked in the back where you can sit down and take your time. Top it off with warm, accommodating staff, and it’s an easy neighborhood cafe to keep in rotation.“

Still, I think locals, especially those who have reading nights, could’ve been more appreciative of the place and the staff, ordered more drinks, and left more tips while they occupied the whole space for over 3 hours. We should really make this place go and thrive because we don’t have many in the area.“

The only downside for me was that the mini cheesecakes / little cupcakes felt overpriced for their size. Either they should be a bit bigger or priced more reasonably for what you get.“
