“We have been enjoying this restaurant for a couple of years, dining in and introducing friends to the delicious food. Yesterday was the first time we got delivery. We were hosting a Chinese New Year Feast. We ordered our favorites: wontons in chili sauce, wok fired green beans, eggplant in garlic sauce, shrimp fried rice, and sesame chicken. The dishes were all excellent and delicious with generous portions. Our friends ate very well and complimented everything. The delivery was perfect, the restaurant had packed it all really well and it arrived on time. We are so glad we ordered from ChuanZiang HaoZi!!!“

“I have never felt compelled to leave a review until this place. Ordered the pan seared potstickers and the Dan Dan Hand Stretched Noodles. I am fortunate enough to travel around the world for my work and I can genuinely say this is the most complex and flavorful noodle dish I have ever eaten regardless of restaurant or country. The sesame paste they use in the base gives the most rich umami flavor to go with the wonderfully seasoned beef. The hand stretched noodles have truly perfect tooth to them as well giving a very hearty feel to the dish! I could not recommend this place enough! Truly the first 10/10 I have had in Columbus, Ohio.“

“I’ve been eating here for over 15 years, which makes me sad to say that out loud and makes me feel old, but out of those 15 years, I can say they’ve been consistent, and they maybe have made a mistake once maybe twice in that time. I feel like the food is always great. They’re always friendly, and their delivery is truly the fastest I’ve ever seen. Like I swear he’s outside the door with our food as soon as I hit the place order button, it is awesome. I’ve had so many Chinese restaurants that others say are amazing, that I always find bland, and the chicken will have that microwaved flavor but this place never does! I also absolutely adore that they do not put sugar in their crab Rangoon’s, they are amazing. So are the egg rolls! Anywho, just saying, you guys are great. “Was in Columbus for a concert and I walked a few blocks here for dinner. I didn’t see sweet and sour shrimp on the menu (only chicken & pork) and asked if they served it. They whipped me up an off-menu speciality on the spot. And it was terrific! Huge shrimp in a delicious sauce, big chunks of green pepper, etc. Their egg rolls were also nice and crunchy which I love and that seems to be harder to find anymore at places I try. The woman working was watching soap operas or something at full volume but I had earbuds in and was too distracted by the tasty meal to mind. Super good meal and wish I lived closer as I’d love to have it again“

“I ordered Kung Pao Chicken for lunch. It was a beautiful combination of fresh and bright vegetables with juicy pieces of chicken. It Had the right amount of kick and the sauce was so flavorful. My favorite part of kung pao is the peanuts that help counter act the spiciness. Which grand china did not disappoint me and had a nice amount of peanuts in the dish! I also loved they used zucchini in this dish it was superb. Lunch is fairly priced at $7 a combination. I will be back to try more dishes !

April 2026 update

I tried their HUGE JUICY FRIED WINGS , were picked up on a Friday night while at the bar few doors down. Super impressed with the flavor, crispiness and size of theses wings. I already loved the traditional Chinese takeout from here and now I have to start picking up these bug juicy wings!

I do think you guys should offer some sweet n sour or even a house sauce to sell along side it too. It would have been a huge hit with the girls! They were kinda mad I had no sauce.“

“We visited with our friends and decided to try Xin Wei for the first time. The food was delicious. We tried a variety of options such as egg rolls, crab rangoon, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken lo mein and a lamb dish. The lady who served us was really nice too.“

“Food got out fast even though there is only two people working in there. I’ve noticed they usually get it out a lot faster if you go into the store. They definitely have room to improve with the interior and menu being very old but overall a good experience and quality food.“

“The Mala Xiang Guo was perfect in taste and fragrance! We forgot to ask them to omit the numb seeds, which numbed our mouths, but everything else was excellent. The price is very reasonable, and we'll definitely be back to try the Malatang next time.“

We were surprised that the place had been closed for quite some time as it was our go-to place for Chinese takeout. It has been a staple for Marcus theatre area for many many years. It finally reopened under new ownership, but no sign.

The owner was there to greet us and show us the menu. Very nice guy and felt welcomed. We ordered the orange chicken, bokchoy dish, and chicken egg roll. Food was hot and the bokchoy was our favorite dish. Orange chicken wasn't the best but wasn't bad either (would get again). My only gripe is that the prices are similar to a sit-down full-service restaurant and not your typical take-out Chinese food prices. While I would love to come here again the price is way too high for us as we like to go get a quick meal before a movie, etc. I get it the prices need to be adjusted to match inflation/food costs but the price point before new ownership was so good.

All in all, I do want to try the other dishes as the food was good but it won't be on a regular basis as the prices are not competitive with traditional TOGO Chinese places.

“We went to the Ace of Cups to watch a performance by Galactic Empire yesterday and we're hungry so we went across the street to Northeast Chinese restaurant. This little hidden spot for most folks turned out to be some of the best Chinese food that I have eaten in my life and I have eaten Chinese food all over the world. The portions are huge, the price is good and the staff very friendly. I recommended anybody traveling through Columbus that might want some good Chinese food, to look this place up and go there and eat.“

Ordered pork fried rice, hunan beef, general tso's chicken, egg drop soup, egg roll, and crab Rangoon. Came with two white rices as well. Everything tasted fresh and good. Tons of food for the $$$. The woman working when I went in was friendly and my food was ready at the quoted time. Definitely a little hole in the wall place, tucked back off Sawmill but was easy to find. “A great American Chinese fast food restaurant. The place was clean. Their service was fast. Their entree had a large size with a low price. I ordered create your own stir fry coming with chicken, fried rice and 6 veggies. The sauce was bland but veggies and fried rice improved the taste a lot. It is not an authentic Chinese restaurant but a good and cheap fast food place.
