“Great food! Been a few a few times, always had delicious food and never left hungry. Beef Chow Mien and Cheese Cappelletti are delicious. One small critique…little more dressing on the Caesar salad.”

“If you appreciate the absolute pinnacle of culinary precision, understated elegance & world-class hospitality, Alo is not merely a restaurant—it is a masterclass in modern fine dining. Discreetly tucked away on the top floor of a Victorian building at Spadina and Queen, stepping out of the elevator into this minimalist, polished space feels like entering a private, elevated sanctuary far above the noise of the city.
The atmosphere is effortlessly sophisticated: muted tones, warm ambient lighting & a seamlessly orchestrated front-of-house team that operates with quiet, surgical choreography. There is zero posturing here - just pure, unadulterated dedication to the craft.”

“Never had Pakistani food so this was our first. Spotted this restaurant randomly on the street and it caught my attention. Food was great and service is amazing, shoutout to our waiters Rahi, Asta and Yash to walk us through the menu and service with great hospitality. Will come back and try different things in the future.”

“I'm usually resistant to go to elevated Chinese restaurants, but Sunny's Chinese was an exception and it absolutely delivered across the quality of dishes we got, and the service. The stars for me were definitely the Mapo Tofu with side of rice, and Black Sesame HK French Toast. Try to book at the Counter Bar if you can, always the best spot in the house. Will be back again to try their takes on other regional Chinese dishes - just follow the Red light at the end of the Hall.”

“Finally lively AYCE hotpot with wagyu.
Liuyishou is a popular outfit for traditional hotpot, and here in the GTA they have long moved to AYCE format. This Scarborough location has been around for a long time as seen by the dated interior. Nonetheless it’s still popular with some good promos to compete among the huge swath of Asian restaurants in this plaza. We chose an array of hotpot broths including the house special spicy, sukiyaki, pork bone broth & tomato soup.
We came here to celebrate a family occasion, and Liuyishou delivered with its good selection of broths, meats, seafood, and veggies. The $8 Wagyu add-on on weekend was a nice upgrade—thinly sliced, tender, and worth trying if you want something a bit more indulgent. The $3.99 all-you-can-drink station was a pleasant surprise too, making it easy to keep refilling without thinking twice. Service was quick even despite it being relatively busy and a bit loud during dinner peak.
Note the pricing per adult ($34.99 weekend dinner) excludes the soup base which is about $17 for a large shareable pot or $9 for an individual sized pot per guest so the bill can rack up. The wagyu and drinks are add-ons too. They do have a 2 adult + 1 kid family combo for $73.99 on weekends with one drink pitcher excluding soup base. Dessert is included such as taro soft serve, rice ball soup & cold jelly.
Skip it or hit it? Hit it for a casual, authentic hotpot experience.”

“It was my first time going to this restaurant and Leslie was kind enough to show me his recommendations for each category on the menu. He also explained the spice levels available. I ordered sauteed pork with bamboo shoots with regular spice and it was amazing. Spice level was tolerable. I was sweating but it wasn't bad that I couldn't taste the other flavours. Serving was more than enough for one person. I had to get the rest for take out.”

“Guys this place was awesomeeee. The food was amazing. the service was insanely fast. before the waitress was even done taking all our orders they were already bringing in the soups. and you're only allowed one ice cream per person but the waitress gave me an extra one to be nice. and then all of a sudden this other angel of a waitress brings us three extra orders (by accident). but we obvi werent penalized for it. i 1000% recommend this place. bathrooms are nice and clean too, but they're downstairs so maybe if you have mobility issues you may struggle with that. actually if you have a wheelchair the space may be a bit tight for you. no parking nearby but as for most things in toronto u can transit there easily. 5/5!!”

“What an extraordinary experience.
We were fortunate enough to experience Chef Daisuke’s remarkable culinary artistry before the restaurant’s final service. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality by a team whose attentiveness and kindness set the tone for the entire evening.
The menu was exceptional. Each course seemed to surpass the last, showcasing thoughtful technique, beautiful balance, and impeccable ingredients. Every bite was memorable, and the carefully curated selection of unique sake added another layer of discovery to the experience.
One of the highlights of the evening was Chef Daisuke’s interaction with the guests. His passion, humility, and engagement created an intimate atmosphere that transformed dinner into something truly special and unforgettable.
While it is bittersweet to see this chapter come to a close, I am incredibly excited to see what Chef Daisuke creates next. His talent, creativity, and dedication to his craft are undeniable. If his future ventures are anything like Yukashi, they are destined to be extraordinary.
Thank you for a truly memorable evening and a dining experience we will not soon forget.”

“Kindest staff and best food ever. I remeber when I first came here with my friends and the staff were super nice and attentive the entire time, moreover, the hair tie they gave me was super strong and long lasting but I lost it. I came in today just to ask if I could have the hair tie again since it was so good and the staff gave me an entire pack of them :). Always 10/10 service food and everything overall.”
