“I drop into Kelsey's from time to time for lunch. On June 1/26, I was at Kelsey's and sat at the bar where Louise was the bartender. I found Louise to be very professional, upbeat and attentive, She has served me in the past and I find it amazing how she never seems to change. Good job Louise!!”

Golden Fish and Chips in Georgetown delivers a genuinely enjoyable experience that keeps you coming back, with just a couple of small things holding it back from perfection.

The food itself was fresh and tasty — you can tell they're working with quality ingredients. The fish had a satisfying crunch and the chips were cooked well. My only gripe is that the portions came out a little oily, which can feel a bit heavy. A slightly lighter touch with the oil would easily make this one of the best fish-and-chips around.

What really stood out was the staff. From the moment you walk in, the team is warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly — the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. It goes a long way in making the overall experience a pleasant one.

The ambience is decent and functional — nothing too fancy, but comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy your meal. The one downside is the strong smell of oil that lingers throughout the space, which might be a little overwhelming for some. Better ventilation would make a noticeable difference to the dining atmosphere.

Overall, Golden Fish and Chips is a great neighbourhood spot with good food and even better service. Sort out the oiliness and the ventilation, and this place would be a clear five stars. Highly recommended for a casual, satisfying meal!”

“Despite the restaurant understanding that it was our anniversary, we were given the " bums " rush after 2 hours despite other patrons were able to stay longer. We had a reservation at 630, restaurant stated closing at 930, those arriving at 830, would have had 1 hour to order and eat.”

“My sister and I arrived at Joe’s Great Pizza one afternoon in late April, 2026, just seeking a little nourishment before visiting our sister in a nursing home in Georgetown. We had not previously been aware of this business but it was strategically located. We were also seeking a place that sold Pepsi which was a request from our sister’s daughter to take to the nursing home for her mother. They had a great special on slices with pop. (and yes … they sold Pepsi!) The owner/server was very friendly and accommodating and the pizza was delicious ❣️I’d highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The place lives up to its name.😃 Thank you for the experience.”

“Having heard that there are clearly marked vegan options for a long time, we finally made it. The inside was amazingly clean and tidy. A small house-type structure made into a restaurant.

The individual was helpful and cheerful in taking the order and answering all our questions to make sure which food was vegan.

We ordered vegan Banh Mi and they were out relatively quickly. The bread still slightly warm. Nice toppings and all veggies were fresh. Some
Banh Mis we have tried had some pickled veggies and none in this Banh Mi. The mushrooms were good. What we missed was some protein - Tofu would have been nice. Just veggies and bread tasted good but did not keep us full for long and this was a very light meal.

Will surely try to come back and try some other dishes.”

“Ask for the original Korean bibimpap and you'll get the genuine flavourful Korean dish at this location run by Korean owners passionate about Korean cuisine. Just adjust the amount of kochujjang (red pepper paste) to your preference.

Whenever I'm in Georgetown, I have bibimpap for lunch and never get tired of it.

They have other options, too: if you want soup, I recommend their comforting and filling udong.

Their bibimbap, however, is the one to try for its genuine taste that almost transports you to Korea.”

“The best fish & chips in town! Always fresh, hot and delicious! The portion sizes are great and the prices are very reasonable. The fish is perfectly battered and never greasy. They have great daily specials and family meal deals. The restaurant is always clean. If doing take away, it’s so easy to call ahead and they’ll have your order ready for your arrival. The owner is so kind and friendly. It’s such a lovely small business and it’s definitely one worth supporting!”

“Wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone at Georgetown Thai. I have been wanting GOOD thai food for a while now, and have been craving…. A curry and rice dish- and man did they deliver! The yellow curry was silky and spicy and so yummy. They’re food is so fresh, and reasonably priced. We had leftovers too, for today. And the hostesses + servers were so kind. The chicken Satay was AMAZING. It was cooked perfectly and was so tender. And the mango ice cream didnt taste like fake mango. And the thai puff was so light despite being filled with potatoes! I’m just a bit… blown away by everything lol. It doesn’t happen often, and I wanted to let everyone know! Definitely check them out if you haven’t yet! We will definitely be going again. Everything...the spring roll, the sauce for the spring roll, the pumpkin soup and the chicken + shrimp Pad Thai was delicious (lunch special takeout).

Considering it came in a takeout box as well the presentation was actually impressive. Price is right as well. For just over $20 you get a lot of meat and food in general, I pretty much get two meals out of it.

Your coffee is always fresh, the food made properly with care and piping hot, and you are met with people who actually take pride in their business at the window. It really matters that you hire people who genuinely care and do things properly and from now on I will be coming here, even if it means going out of my way 1st.
