“BEST BRUNCH OFF HWY 401 We were driving from Ottawa to Toronto, a trip we’ve made a million times. Fed up with enRoute lunch stops, we decided to drive off the 401 a bit near Kingston. I used Google to find some non-chain places within 10 minutes of the Highway and happened on Toast & Jam. It seems far at 6.5 kms from the 401 but it’s only 8 minutes. Are we ever glad we risked it! I won’t bother repeating what nearly every review says about the fantastic, inventive food – mostly brunch-type fare – or the genuine friendly vibe and service. (And then there’s the Bread & Butter bakery that’s part of the place to stock up for the road. Yum!) What I did is analyze the reviews on Google. In the past two years they had 473 reviews: 85% are 5 stars and 12% four stars. If you live in Kingston, you already know about Toast & Jam. If you are driving by . . . GET OFF THE 401 AT EXIT 611 (GARDINERS ROAD) IT’S SO WORTH IT. [NOTE: THEY CLOSE AT 3:00 PM]“

“My Daughter and I went to Nora's Coffee and Sandwiches last Friday For the first time with my friend and her Daughter and it was a great experience. The food was homemade and fresh. The service was great. I walk with a cane and they brought my food over to the table for me. I loved the homey feel and decor. We will definitely be back!“

“Excellent cafe with a surprisingly large selection of vegan treats such as a peanut butter twix bar, pumpkin bundt cakes, carrot cake and red velvet cake. I tried the red velvet cake, which was delicious! Coffee was excellent as well. They also have a small refrigerator section with some take away meals, some of which appear to be vegan. Prices for everything were reasonable. Cafe had some indoor seating, but it was extremely busy when I went, so I got my items to go.“

“This has to be the worst Tim Hortons. Every morning when I go to get my coffee. There is nothing ready, no donuts, cookies or muffins. Go to any other Tim Hortons in the city and you can buy donuts, cookies or muffins. You have to wait until after 8am for these items. Other Tim Hortons are fully prepared with these items. This one store is never ready“

I picked up my order yesterday and didn't realize until I got to work that it was wrong (mistakes happen). I called and the barista who answered the phone was so friendly and helpful. He offered me a free beverage and pastry when I return today. I arrived and it was him who served me. Again very friendly and helpful and no issue getting my replacement drink and complementary muffin.
This is why I continue to return to Starbucks is the consistent quality of my drink and amazing customer service.“

“We pop in to this Tim's because it is so close and convenient. It's right on highway 15 before the 401 in Kingston and it's always busy. The emplyees are always friendly and the service is great. I do worry about it being attached to a gas station/convenience store because people, especially in the morning, go roaring through the pumps to the drive through without looking to see if someone is going to their car. I wish there was a more definite entrance, rather than cutting through the pumps. So if you stop there for your favorite beverage, keep your eyes open for fools rushing for their caffeine fix.“

“Friendly staff, never an issue, come here couple times a week and never had a mistake on an order. The worst I've experienced was maybe a bagel or donut I want that ran out, but it's usually well stocked too. The Staff is the real winner here too, they treat you like a friend and remember the regulars.“
