“I had a wonderful dining experience at Auberge du Pommier. We started with the BBQ lamb toast, which was exceptionally flavorful and beautifully balanced. The richness of the lamb paired with the thoughtful preparation made it an excellent way to begin the meal.

For my main course, I ordered the strip loin, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and expertly prepared, reflecting the high standard of execution expected from a fine dining restaurant.

My partner ordered the orzotto. While the dish offered excellent flavor and quality ingredients, it was unfortunately finished with slightly too much oil, which overshadowed some of the more delicate flavors and affected the overall balance of the dish. A lighter touch would have allowed the ingredients to shine through more effectively.

Overall, the service and atmosphere were outstanding, and the quality of the cuisine was evident throughout the meal. With a small refinement to the orzotto, the experience would have been exceptional from start to finish. We look forward to returning.“

“Had such a lovely experience at Lucie. The space feels elegant yet relaxed, making it perfect for a date night or a special dinner with friends.

The highlight for me was definitely the raw bar — everything tasted incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The oysters were briny and clean, and the seafood dishes were prepared with great attention to detail. Service was warm, attentive, and never rushed.

Lucie strikes a nice balance between refined dining and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a Michelin-recognized spot in Toronto with excellent seafood and a great wine program, this is definitely worth a visit.“

“I was really blown away by this place. The food was incredibly delicious at a very reasonable price for what you are getting which is rare to say for a steakhouse. When compared to say the keg you are paying about the same price for food that is way tastier and a better portion. Will try out some other things the next time I come besides the steak/cordon bleu as there seems to be many offerings on the menu. Also our server was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to please, making the experience that much better. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hidden gem.“

“Really aesthetic restaurant. Friendly staff and amazing tasting brunch. We tried the famous french toast, steak and eggs, eggs Hemingway and eggs florentine, all tasted really really good. They come in generous portions as well. If you go with a big group I suggest sharing a French Toast with the table and also their brunch savory options.“

“Went here for Valentine’s Day with my husband. The staff and servers were fantastic. There was limited seating so we had to sit beside another couple. As this was not ideal on Valentine’s Day, it didn’t take away from our experience too much.

We paid for a 5 course dinner. This was an overkill in my opinion as we had two mains, chicken with potatoes, and filet mignon with veggies. The former was a little dry in my opinion and the later was cooked perfectly but nothing wow. I wish I had the filet mignon before the chicken. I believe I would have appreciated it more. The apps and dessert were my favourite - caprese salad, lobster bisque, and crème brûle.

This was great to experience once. I’ll definitely try different locations abroad and pick less items.“

However, the folks at La Palette ushered me back in spectacular fashion. The spot was cozy, warm, chic. I hosted my Halloween tradition there and plan to return the next time I am in toronto. The food was phenomenal, the wine selection was superb, and the desserts were perfect. The team displayed immense knowledge of their food, its pairings and combinations to enhance your experience. The vibe was very European in some essence. I had the steak fries, my fiancée had the duck confit, both dishes were tasty to the note. The steak was seasoned well and tender paired woth their in-house made butter. A solid cheat however....you must try the Malbec Cohor (Chateau Eugene), with the Ganache. Thank me later! “We got the rack of lamb "cook it yourself" kit on Friday; with the sides it's an amazing value and made an absolutely superb dinner. There was an error in my order, (understandable at 7 pm on a Friday) but the team went the extra mile to make it right. I highly recommend their meals for takeout, and I'm really looking forward to dining in on their extended menu when the lockdown is over.“

We've got an incredible waiter (Joydeep), we've got a lot of restriction with all the allergies I've got and the fact my husband is cœliac and they take care of both of us all night long. “This is my first time trying out French food. I chose this place because this is one of the only French restaurants that are open for lunch. I wanted to try Beef bourguignon but they only serve it for dinner, so I was recommended coq au vin. I really liked the wine sauce even though I am not a big fan of alcohol in general. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was very flavorful without the strong alcohol taste.“

“Over the past 5 years we rarely go out but when my husband asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner, Avant Gout was my first choice. We originally ordered delivery during the pandemic but as restaurants started opening up again, this was a restaurant I wanted to go to. Over the past 2 years, we have gone there 4 times and every time, the food has been top notch. Tonight was my birthday and they did not disappoint. The Escargot was AMAZING, the angel hair pasta was delicious and the service (Tim) and atmosphere was A+++. The highlight of my night was when the patrons (regulars) all sang Happy Birthday to me. The service was attentive, prompt and very personalized (our son and daughter-in-law were with us and had dined there for their anniversary). Kudos to the excellent chef and Carolina.“

“This is a different sort of review. We missed our reservation because of a flight. I travel a lot and it can be a pain when the flights don’t line up with dinner plans.
The team there was so accommodating on a busy night and when it did not work out, they were so friendly that it made me want to come back.

You answered my questions as we went along and provided good advice. The event itself was a huge success. The staff were excellent in terms of knowing when to bring out food, when to pass it and when to place it on the buffet table. Staff kept the gluten free food separate which made it easy for guests to find it - you even placed the gluten free cards I had brought. Beverage service was professional and the wines Valeriia selected were enjoyed by all. I had one guest with some very specific dietary requirements and Chef made a small plate for her which was ready when she arrived which was very much appreciated. The guests commented on the quality of the food and staff. Several people said that they would now come back to Le Select for dinners. I would strongly recommend Le Select for events.“

“A very cosy uptown restaurant ! I have been several times over the years and it never disappoints. Was there again last night and have to say the veal scallopini was excellent. It was a tough choice as there are so many delicious things on the menu. The friendly and excellent service, food and ambiance was perfect. A big thank you to the staff for such an enjoyable evening. “Specialty shop with french and some additional european products. Sells fresh chocolates, cookies, cheese, butters, juice and some pastry. Lots of canned or Jar products from France- pasta, jam, cookies, bon bons, macaroons, etc. Everything you could want to fill your french heart. The french lady working behind the counter was extremely nice and friendly. If you need a gift or want something to impress pop in.“

“Great atmosphere and amazing food! Service was impeccable! The whole menu was fantastic but the Afonsino, Celtuce, and Monkfish were particular favourites. They fully deserve their Michelin star. The care and thought behind each dish was so evident and they were all so well balanced. Even the butter was amazing! The ambiance was great with an excellent playlist, albeit a little bit louder than expected. What I loved, which oddly some of the reviews complained about, was that we were never rushed. Timing was perfect and we had a really lovely and completely enjoyable evening that lasted about 4 hours. This obviously comes at a cost to the restaurant as they cannot turn over the table so I really appreciate and applaud them for their commitment to providing a wonderful experience for their customers. Our server was very friendly and skilled in his profession; he was so kind to help us take photos outside of the restaurant. There are so many great restaurants in Toronto but if you are deciding which one to try, I would put Edulis at the top of the list. To the great chefs and staff at Edulis, thank you so much for making our daughter’s graduation celebration a really special one!“

I was so impressed with the flavours of the food, the yellowfin tuna Crudou was 10/10, the beef tartar, another 10/10, the halibut 8/10, French onion soup was a seven out of 10 but still enjoyable. “I found this place while accompanying my Mom to appointments at nearby Women’s College Hospital. A real gem. Good food and coffee and a good amount of seating. Great selection of teas. I especially recommend it to people visiting the hospital since the hospital food court closes fairly early; grab a snack and a drink and bring it over. It even opens early on weekends, for which I am *very* grateful. I will make a point of stopping by in the future!“

Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“
