“The three of us all had a different meal and all three were amazing. Best food I’ve had in a long time. The club sandwich and poutine were ridiculously good and my wife’s Philly cheese steak sandwich was tender and delicious and my daughter’s chicken parm was out of this world too. They nailed all three out of the park!”
“Just went to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago with some friends. The food was amazing. Decided to take my family there for dinner and once again the food was amazing. The waiter was incredible with my whole family. We will be making this a regular spot for dinner for sure!!Kid-friendliness: The waiter made my 6 year old feel like she was special”
“We've been ordering from this location for years. Always fresh and hot, delicious pizza. The delivery drivers are always friendly and polite. Is it a touch pricey? Yes, but you get what you pay for.”
“Had the chef's tasting menu and was impressed by the development of flavors and complexity from one course to the next. Was delighted for the Uni risotto and the aged duck. Wine pairing was worth it. Service from Larry was excellent, and the Soms were charismatic. Would definitely recommend!”
“Friendly staff and beautiful restaurant. Portions are smaller than what you would find in traditional Chinese restaurants, but as it is a very esthetic place, I think the portions are what you would expect there. The food is good though, I'm satisfied with it! The table waiting system is quite efficient!”
“This upscale restaurant has been overwhelmingly popular for the past few years and for good reason. It offers unpretentious and very welcoming service, creative plating, and some of the best food around. It's evident a lot of time and thinking go into the dishes. There is no generic sauce or ingredient that is used repeatedly through the tasting menu. Instead, each dish has its own distinct flavor profile and matching fresh ingredients. Their cocktails are also delicious. What really stands out in the experience dining here, even for fine dining restaurants, is their service. Everyone that I interacted with (5+) was just down to earth, friendly, and extremely patient and attentive. Though the restaurant gets busy, staff members take the time to make you feel constantly attended to and well cared for. The restaurant is also nicely decorated. Overall, Annalena should be at the top of your list if you're looking for a memorable fine dining experience in Vancouver.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian option.Parking: Lots of paid street parking within a short 3 minute walking distance.”
“Excellent food and service. Special note of the gracious person on the phone who explained their reservation system and dining options. Would be 5 stars, but the room is small, and the volume generated by the one large group the last time we were there made it impossible for us to have a normal level conversation. This was not our experience other times when seating was tables of 4 or less so we will be back.”
“My experience at Savio Volpe was amazing! I have always wanted to try this restaurant ever since i’ve heard of it few yrs ago but unfortunately couldnt get in coz it’s hard to make a reservation. Glad i was able to get in this time. Me, my husband, my mom and in laws came over to celebrate our bday at this restaurant and it really surpassed our expectations. Our fave were the maple farm half chicken, primrose pork belly with scallops and green apple puree, tiramisu and amaretto bday ice cream! It was def chef’s kiss! Shout out to Steve for constantly checking on us making sure we were ok and we were enjoying our meal. We would love to go back again sometime in the future.”
“?Exceptional hotpot experience! Fresh ingredients and attentive service. Our server May was incredibly warm and accommodating??. Don't forget to mention the secret code for a bonus treat! Highly recommended!”
“Their Saturday Lunch Special was absolutely delicious! Fresh seafood, delicious pork hock and the broth was so rich in seafood flavour!!! Highly recommend this place! Definitely coming back!”
“Ok I am going to start off this review by being a little bit conceded so I apologize in advance. I am not going to say I'm an expert in smashburgers or burgers in general, but my Knowledge of such more than likely surpasses most that have or will walk through their doors. I have been making and obsessing over smashburgers myself for well over a decade. So I can say with the utmost confidence that these SO FAR are most certainly the best smashburgers in the city. Simple, great crust with some nice lacy edges while still remaining relatively juicy, house made mayo, American cheese and very well caramelized onions. I then talked to a man whom I would assume was the owner and he obviously has great confidence and love for his burgers. He explained that the beef is grass fed and grass finished from local farms, I only wished I asked the grind and fat content, between 25 and 30% is the sweet spot for me. But I digress, you can't go wrong with these burgs so go now and go often! Especially when they open their brick and mortar spot.Vegetarian options: Impossible for the veggie eaters out there. The only way to get go. Beyond kinda sucks.”
“Came here for dinner with some friends on a Friday evening. We got a table right away! This is my second time at this location and it did not disappoint. Still one of the best ramen places I’ve ever been to! The broth is so rich and flavorful and the portion was quite good for the price.Service was excellent as we got our food right away and our server checked up on us often. The environment was clean and well-kept. Would definitely come back here! 10/10!”
“Absolutely love this place, came here under the recommendation of good people and was not disappointed, dead rabbit was present this evening and knocked it out of the ball park. I love their brand and the servers there are top notch ! I will be back !!”
“Thank you Angel for your considerate and enthusiastic service. We were very happy and satisfied to bring our Japanese friends to experience Chinese hot pot for the first time! Every time we need anything, Angel comes to help us immediately and then confirms that we are fine before continuing. We had a great time eating ?”
“First time for me to eat at Kingyo on Denman Street. Went for lunch and loved the food and restaurant design. My server Shohei was also friendly and thorough. I’ll definitely go again.”
“We booked a table for our anniversary and we did enjoy our food there. Our menu consisted of a series of smaller plates, almost 7-8 in total if we count the pre-amuse amuse, the actual amuse and the post-desert, i.e. the mignardises (which I really enjoyed, especially the truffle-chocolate).Dishes were balanced and complex flavor-wise. I would have preferred the bread from the bread service to be a bit less sweet from that glaze and a bit more fluffy, it was quite dense.Since this is my 24th Michelin Star restaurant, I have to say that portion-wise, the entire meal in total was on the barely-enough-food side. I have rarely had this experience with restaurants of this caliber and I usually make fun of people who say that in fine dining portions are small, because for most degustation menus, you rarely leave a place hungry.Unfortunately, I left St. Laurence almost hungry. My delicious caramelized onion tart was barely a bite, my amazing pasta dish was barely two bites and my duck breast main had literally two tiny pieces of duck. Even for the bread service I was never asked if I want more than a tiny bun that was supposed to serve two.To compare French cuisine with French cuisine, at Le Bernardin, a three-star restaurant in the heart of NYC, the bread service is impeccable, the bread is of a higher quality all together, and you can have as much as you want. If you visit for lunch you get probably 3 times more food than St Laurence, for the same amount of money approx. So, while I enjoyed the flavors and the service was good, I really did leave the restaurant almost hungry, and while my palate was highly entertained I felt that the restaurant could afford to serve slightly bigger portions. In other words, I felt a bit cheated, as if I should be satisfied with less food because (insert a make-believe explanation here)Btw, we did add extras to our menu and still the food wasn't enough. Also, for a French restaurant the wine list is just unacceptable. Very few choices really. It will take me a while to visit for those reasons.”
“Very cozy restaurant, I highly recommend the Bigoli Nero - the best tasting seafood pasta I've ever had. The staff provided friendly and excellent service too.”
“The pinnacle of of good sushi. Miku Restaurant are the pioneers of Aburi Sushi in Canada a technique that uses a light flame sear on each piece done with Japanese Charcoal, it is delicious. They suggest not to use Soya Sauce which we didn't, the reason behind that is you can taste all the subtle flavors of each piece otherwise you would loose those from the powerful flavor from the Soya Sauce. We ordered alot, and everything was wonderful.”
“We've been here twice now. Beautiful interior space, delicious food, and attentive service. Our absolute favorite dishes are the carne cruda and the off menu omelette with king crab. Tajarin pasta is very unique and worth trying. We also had their daily special buckwheat tagliatelle which was quite delicious.A wonderful spot for date night! Be sure to make a reso in advance.”
“Incredible care and tastes in all foods and very attentive staff. For being so busy and limited with space it was a great experience and they did everything to accommodate and make any patron feel valued.”
“Such a cute spot for brunch! Lovely food and presentation. I started with a tequila Caesar and it was so good! I opted for the mushroom and loved it. The crispy oyster mushrooms were so tasty and I loved the sauces. Pricier than expected ($23) but the flavors were on point.”
“We had a wonderful dinner on Christmas Eve and it was our first time there. Many thanks to general manager Jason, host William and our waiter Jomar for making it a memorable experience. Merry Christmas to you All!”
“Highly recommend the seafood tower as a shared starter for the table. I’ve never had jellyfish and was surprised at the sweet flavor and interesting (not slimy) texture. Service is excellent without being stuffy. Our party of four had a booth and despite the busy crowds we could converse easily without shouting. We will be back.”
“Came here for happy hour and it was a decent time. Had some oyster shooters which was fun as well as a dozen oysters, their muscle dish, and truffle fries. The way they clean off their oyster shells definitely seemed like it was extra effort because there were no extra loose bits of shell that sometimes come off and you’re trying to slurp the oyster and it even seemed smoothed so the edges weren’t sharp. But overall it seemed ok. Nothing special but their wide range of oysters.”
“Truly exceptional experience dining here for my birthday. From the atmosphere, service, tradition, 25 course meal and piano playing Happy Birthday, it was the dinner of a lifetime. Every single morsel is crafted to perfection. I tried over 20 different kinds of fish! All impeccably prepared with traditional methods and modern design. Absolutely spinning from the experience!”
“Everything was great. Werewolf drink was so effing delicious!! Never had anything like that before. Wine prices were too high. Room was very noisy. Hard to hear the waiter's description of the plates. Simple room treatment could solve this issue. Would recommend for sure!”
“Came here recently to celebrate our anniversary. Cozy restaurant with limited seating. Reservation highly recommended. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented using fresh, good quality ingredients. Service was very attentive. Our empty plates were taken right away and our tea cups were filled constantly. Fair price and good food selection. Had an enjoyable evening.”
“I had an incredible experience here last Friday! My friends hosted a surprise bridal shower for me in the private dining room. The staff were thoughtful and helpful with the setup, allowing my them to come in early to decorate the space. They also did a flawless job with executing the surprise by pretending to bring me to a table first. The server was fun, warm and attentive throughout the night and I feel terrible that I’m forgetting her name! All the food was delicious, which has been the case every time I’ve been to Boulevard.”
“If you like food… vegan or not- this place is a must try!We decided to embrace the dining experience and loved the chef’s selections. The dishes met my expectations- were delicious and unique. Love the twist on ingredients. We will certainly be back on our necktie visit to BC!”
“Warm & quirky atmosphere.Awesome, high quality food at a reasonable price. Some of the best coffee you'll find in the city PERIOD.If you haven't been you are sorely missing out.”
