“This Tap & Barrel location at The Shipyards in North Vancouver is super close to my office, so it's my usual go-to spot with coworkers for lunch. This time, my husband and brother came by to visit me after work, so we headed over to take advantage of their Happy Hour which runs every day from 2:00 PM-5:30 PM & 9:00 PM-close, plus ALL DAY Monday!

It's a massive location with two full floors of seating and stunning waterfront views. Our server was awesome and gave us the absolute best recommendations for our table. We fueled up on an epic spread:

- Tap Snack Burger & Fried Chicken Snack Burger: Perfect bite-sized, flavorful burgers to kick off the meal.
- Hot Honey Calabrese Pizza: The ideal balance of spicy, savory, and sweet.
- Maple Bacon Hot Wings: Crisp, sticky, and packed with flavor.
- Truffle Waffle Fries: Absolutely addictive, a must-order every single time.
- Sour Cherry Lemonade & Pink Lemonade Slush: Super refreshing and the perfect Happy Hour treats.

The staff were amazing, specifically Hubert who provided a laid-back vibe and very good conversation while I sat at the bar. Hubert was working hard pouring drinks and making Nachos for a growing mix of ppl coming from the Lamb of God concert. The 2 girls waiting on customers were also pleasant and down to earth. The music was an eclectic mix of old school rock all the way to the 80’s, 90’s and current metal. Loved it! The place was open late with No Pressure to get during last call. If you’re in Vancouver go, see Hubert at The Brighton before or after a concert at the Coliseum, or a drink to sit back and look at all the awesome memorabilia on the walls.“

“Has an old pub feel and so are the patrons. No waitress / waiter to be seen, you had to get your own drinks (is that a Vancouver thing?) Food is ordered from a window in a wall but good wings. Live music was vintage rock, they were really great!“

The brunch food was delicious, the portions were generous, the prices were very affordable and the server was friendly and attentive. She had a good memory remember our orders. His joke about “Scotty staying in the corner” was absolutely out-of-this-world hilarious and had us laughing so hard. 😂 It's those spontaneous, memorable moments that really make great service stand out. Nice to find those spaces that feel like a step back in time; when things were less complex. Lots of space, many TV screens, Karaoke on weekends... you can't beat it! Great service too. Even my 82yr old mother loved it. Am a huge wrestling fan... hoping they may show some of the big WWE events. Gonna make the trek from Vancouver a lot more frequently. Its worth it! “So upset I did not find this place before moving to cloverdale from north delta. It’s hard to find a pub that checks every box but this place has it. I got the wings ( of course) they were saucy and cooked to perfection. The blue cheese was the good chunky kind!!I sat by where the food was coming out and every time a meal passed me it smelt unreal. The owner even came out at one point to see how patrons would like a beer he was thinking of bringing in..The staff were on top of every refill and dirty dish. I will drive out from cloverdale to keep coming to this place.“

“Popped in to the Kings Head this afternoon. Our second visit as I am visiting family. Had a great afternoon sat in the sun when the clouds would let us. But no matter as the heaters were on and kept us nice and toasty. Had some great wings & fry’s all washed down with some Cider. Served by Christina who’s new to the role but destined to be management in no time, attentive without being overbearing. And made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon… cheers guys“
