“We felt like getting sushi takeout and was going to be in the area so thought we'd give this place a try.

Value-wise, I think the prices were very good. It was a decent amount of food with good variety (for a 40 pc sushi/sashimi/rolls tray) along with some of their seasonal mango-inspired sushi. It wasn't the best sushi I've had, but for the price, I think it's very good. (The mango rolls kinda fell apart on the car ride home hence why it looks that in way the pics.)

Overall I think this place is worth a revisit.“

“This is my third time coming here, and the service is always excellent. Since we visited on a weekday, we were able to use our discount coupon and got $10 off, which was a nice bonus.

The food quality is consistently great, just as always. It’s a bit of a pity that the foie gras sushi wasn’t available on weekdays, as that’s one of our favorites. Other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful.“

“A little place in Langham Square if you crave Japanese food. It's mostly a takeout place with a little corner where you can squeeze in and sit to eat.
The food itself was good. The fish were fresh. Most pieces were common fish. The size of the dishes were not that big.
I ordered the salmon and ikura don while my friend ordered the chirashi don. Both were OK.
I would go back if nearby. But likely try other sushi places first where it's dine in.“

“Had the Tasting Menu for the second time, and it was really fantastic. Beautiful fresh sashimi and sushi. With delicately flavoured specialties. And then miso black cod which I love.
The presentation was very nice. The service was good and I really like the decor. There is also an extensive menu that looks great.
Will definitely go again next time I'm in town!“

“The sushi here is incredibly fresh and easily the best I have had in the area so far! It is genuinely on par with many of the sushi restaurants I have tried in Japan which really surprised me. The atmosphere is great, the vibe is just right, and the staff are very kind and attentive. I ordered the Sapporo Boat with my family and was honestly blown away by how good everything was, there wasn’t a single item I wouldn’t order again! Even the sushi rice stood out as being above average really bringing everything together. I highly highly recommend this any sushi lovers in the area!!“

I ordered the deluxe set. I enjoyed the dynamite and spicy salmon rolls which came with it. What I didn't like in the deluxe set was the cream cheese rolls, which came as a surprise to me as I ate it.

Nothing bad about the service.

The food came after about 25-30 minutes

Price 💰💰💰: 4/10
Some of the items were quite expensive. If I recall correctly, there was a boat for $72 which contained about 36 rolls. $2 per roll is probably not a deal I will take.

Atmosphere 🪰: 4/10
The restaurant was clean, but the main problem was the flies. They were flying everywhere and landing wherever they please.

“The staff are always really friendly, which makes eating in feel relaxed and welcoming. The sashimi is usually pretty decent and fresh, though a couple of the salmon pieces were a bit stringy on this visit.

The chirashi don was the standout for me – for around $24, the portion and quality were totally worth it. I also order from this place a lot on Uber Eats and the food is consistently good when it arrives. Overall, a solid neighborhood sushi spot that I’m happy to keep going back to.“

“The restaurant, service and food at this restaurant was good. However the only downside is that the customers are literally asked to pay a tip. During this difficult period of the pandemic, it is hard to leave a tip. It should be optional but if you do not tip, you are sort of asked "why no tip". This becomes odd and the customer should be given the discretion to tip. This is the reason, I am giving 4 stars to this restaurant.“

“Jun - the owner, chef and server was Awesome!! Explained each dish as they were served, with detail on fish, preparation (smoked, cured, aged), fish cut, fish origin location etc.. very complete Omakase and ended the meal with delicious ube ice cream!! “Was in the area and starving so I decided to walk in to Daon Sushi and boy was that a great idea! The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, the owner was super nice and helpful! The food was fantastic, some of the best sushi have had in a while. Fresh and tasty! I ordered Miso Soup, Roll Tray A, Yam Tempura Roll and the Gold Label Roll. Everything was so so good and the Gold Label is my new favourite. So happy I decided to grab dinner from here, I def will be back 🥰 I couldn’t resist and had some bites before I took pictures 😋😋“

“I don’t usually write reviews, but this is easily the BEST SUSHI I’ve had in Toronto. I normally dine in, but because it’s so busy on Fridays and weekends, I ordered takeout and WOW. The sushi was still incredibly fresh, and the presentation was just as beautiful as dining in. You can really tell how much care goes into their food. Highly recommend.“

I have been to many sushi spots and all of them don’t give out fresh sushi and especially sashimi like here.

“Love love love this place. This time I had their Chirashi Sushi, and the Bulgogi dinner. The serving size was perfect if not on the larger size for me. Their food always tastes heavenly and fresh. Can't say enough great things about the sushi, the flavours of their dressings and sauces, and their presentation. Try it for yourself and find out.“

“This was our first time at Takumi and we are pretty happy with this place. We order a platter and tempura appy. The restaurant didn’t look busy but there were a lot orders coming in for delivery or pick up. The platter took longer than we hoped but it is Friday night. We have been noticing that orders coming in take precedent over orders taken from customers dining in.
Overall, the fish was very fresh and the sashimi was cut generously. We enjoyed ourselves and will probably come back.“

“Such a cute, little spot tucked away in the heart of several beautiful neighbourhoods! The sushi was extremely fresh and the owners were honestly so kind and hospitable. The prices here are definitely on the higher end but honestly, the quality of the sushi, sashimi and even the miso soup made it feel all worth it! Everything tasted clean, fresh and truly made with intention. They even surprised us with matcha ice cream at the end of our lunch, which was so sweet and thoughtful. It was a slow Friday afternoon and it turned out to be genuinely an amazing experience. I left so happy, full and wanting to come back to support them again! Ordered sushi rolls today, bunch different ones. We were group of 3, no one had breakfast, no one ate anything else except this.
We all got stomach pain, frequent washroom, and crazy nausea.
I don’t know what was it, was it tempura roll, or was it the strange looking smoked salmon roll (that salmon was either steamed or parboiled for some reason?)
Idk. Please check your fish. Getting all of those symptoms for sushi that we got (that none of them had even raw fish) is wild.

UPD: took some pills and feeling better. Jin sushi chef personally called me today, really happy for such a quick reaction. He assured me they will recheck everything, but they always take health concerns seriously (and I do appreciate it). “One of my go-to places at First Markham food court. Pictured is Chicken Korea which has good portions of rice, chicken and cooked bean sprouts with miso soup, always satifying. “I don't usually eat sushi, but this place knocked my socks off.
I ordered the Beto Box dinner which came with 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 pieces of salmon each resting on a bite sized mound of rice; thin slices of teriyaki chicken over vegetables; a healthy portion of white rice; 2 spring rolls and sliced orange fruit. It was all very well prepared and had wonderful flavors.
Next time I am in Toronto, I will be paying a visit to explore the other treasures on the menu.“

“This place was a life saver during my pregnancy. Love that they have so much variety with their menu and all of it was done pretty well. Definitely my go to whenever I had a craving. When I ordered California rolls while pregnant, they made sure there was no cross contamination and separated out the fish roe. You can tell that they care about their customers.“

“This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants in the east of Toronto. Japanese owned and operated. The fish is exceptionally fresh and well presented. Also, they have interesting varieties you typically don’t see on other sushi menus If you like draft beer, they have Asahi on tap which somehow comes out freezing cold, and stays that way for a long time. Probably the coldest beer I’ve ever had on tap, which is great. Service is efficient and sweet. There are two seating sections which are not connected. They are separated by another store in the strip mall. Both are a little frayed and could use a bit of an update, but don’t let that deter you. This is an excellent spot that I’ve been coming to for years. Everything is fairly priced and tasty. Reserve before you go.“

“So good!!!!!! Ordered for takeout. It was fresh, fast, fantastic. The sashimi pieces were HUGE which I am not accustomed to, other sushi joint sashimi pieces are dinky little slices. These were basically little fish steaks! Also ordered a few rolls and appys. Honestly such good value, 100% would recommend.“
