Although we had never ate at a place like this "build your own hotpot", it was straight forward to grab a large bowl and use the provided tongs for picking your ingredients. Your bowl is weighed and you choose from 1 of 4 soup bases to be added to your chosen fixings while it's cooked. We felt it was good value and greatly enjoyed our meals. It was a nice quiet environment, the staff were attentive to filling our water glasses, and we left our bowls on the table when we were done as the staff clear the tables frequently. I can't wait to return with my husband and show him how good of a spot it is!??“

“A gem of a place. I had never tried this type of bbq experience so it was with a little trepidation that I went with my son but it was fantastic. Our hostess was super kind and friendly and explained everything, helped with our choices. The meats, sauces, spices and vegetables were amazing. Definitely will be going back again.“

“We saw this place and decided to give it a try, our first time trying this cuisine. We ordered Schezuan Chicken and Special Lamb Skewers. These were very delicious and juicy. We also ordered a Spicy and Sour base soup with Orleans Chicken and this was so flavourful with the perfect spice level. Keep in mind the Mild is pretty spicy to begin with.Thw service was impressive and fast. We are pleasantly surprised and would definitely be a regular.“

“It’s a Chinese fine dining in town. Good quality food with excellent presentation for each dish. Well trained staffs and they explained well for each food items on the menu. Very clean and quiet environment for dinner. Washroom is clean. Price definitely is a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants. This restaurant is located in a busy street at the market area so it may not be easy to find a parking spot on the weekend.“

“Well priced and great tasting noodles, but a bit crowded.The noodles are excellent when it's hot, and they are by far tastier when you eat at the restaurant (I've ordered here with an app before) but the place is a quite cramped with 4 2-seat tables and 1 4-seat tables.And occasionally the wait time is a bit long as they seam to prioritize call in and app orders over once in restaurant. But for all the things I dislike, eating the fresh noodles when they come to your table is fantastic!??“

But, Saturday had us searching for something different, and we ended up at one of our past favourites. In the past, always very good. But tonight, super fantastic ! Everything was GREAT !We ordered from across the menu, picking out some of the tougher dishes to get right, including the BBQ duck, and I am VERY picky when it comes to a properly cooked duck. From the won ton soup starter, the egg rolls, and a half dozen different rice, meat, and veggie dishes …….. everything, I mean EVERYTHING, was fantastic ! Also, the staff, super team approach, all dishes to the table piping hot, every need taken care of, and all super polite. Worth the price and was glad to tip for great service.“

“This is one of the best places to get Chinese food in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. They are so accommodating to my very weird allergies (celery) and take extra steps to ensure that my food is safe. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. Their food is delicious, the staff is extremely friendly, and we thoroughly enjoy visiting them every couple months as a treat. Please give them a try. Run by the sweetest husband and wife and the best thing about the Minda Cafe is their food is made in house with fresh ingredients for very fair prices. “My wife and I ate here with a couple of friends. We started with won ton soup, hot and sour soup as well as vegetable spring rolls. They ordered chicken satay, mixed vegetables, chicken fried rice and pineapple chicken. We ordered beef with ginger and onions, five spice prawns and pork fried rice. Everything was freshly made and delicious. They received all their dishes before us though so service was a bit out of sync. We had dinner on a pretty cold night and we had to ask our waiter to turn on the overhead heater as we were seated near the door and every time it opened, we got a blast of cold air. The seating area is small so it would be difficult to avoid this. Food was excellent, service was a bit slow and price was a bit high. Would recommend and would certainly return when it’s warmer.“

“Wonderful place! Dropped by this evening and got the pork buns, tea egg and a soda and it was pretty fair price on campus. The food is homemade and made with care and personally, for the quality and care, I think it is a very fair, and good price.The buns were nice and soft, had ample filling and we liked they added vinegar and chili oil which elevated the taste. The tea egg was good as well.Overall, highly recommend! The wait time for food was pretty quick and compared to other options on campus, I think this is clearly one of the best.“

The General Tao chicken was delicious and just the right amount of spice (ie: not very) and used the lean chicken breast so it was not as fatty as others I've had elsewhere. The shrimp low mein was tasty and delicious, noodles perfectly al-dente and generous on the shrimp. And the chicken fried rice was also a generous amount, and had bits of chicken breast in it. Not greasy at all, everything was tasty. We highly recommend it!“

“This used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant in town. We even got a VIP membership and that's how much we love it. Our fav dish is braised beef noodles and we order it all the time. But unfortunately, I noticed that the taste started to go down hill starting from this year. It was mushy, no green onions. I got the wonton soup and the broth lacked depth. The wonton filling lacked seasoning. But honestly, I would order again. I probably wouldn’t get the fried rice or soup again, but I could eat those noodles everyday, and likely will be due to the huge portion and I’mnot mad about it.“
