“Exactly the type of Chinese food I associate with Canadian style. Great and big portions. More pricey on some menu items, but great quality overall. Food arrives always hot and tasty. Staff is professional and efficient. Interior/Atmosphere is limited as this is a take-out place only. Doesn't hinder the fact that this is a 5-star place for me and one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the city.“

“Excellent Chinese food. I had been searching for a good Chinese restaurant for a long time, and this place did not disappoint. Duck is their specialty, and the portions are very generous. “The dumplings are tasty. It is a long wait. They do not take names so you have to stand there for 40 minutes in the cold to be seated. It would be better if they took numbers and called when it was time to be seated. Overall the food was good, and if it is warm outside it is worth the wait.“

“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.“

Growing up, birthdays in my family were always celebrated with Chinese food, and even as time passes and habits change, I still find myself craving Jadeland’s crispy noodles with shrimp when my birthday is around the corner. That dish has been a favourite for more than 20 years and still brings back that familiar feeling of celebration and comfort. Their General Tao chicken, crispy beef, salt‑and‑pepper shrimp (shell‑on), and of course the crispy noodles with shrimp have all been part of that long‑running tradition (each one giving me a hit of nostalgia every time).

One thing that makes Jadeland stand out is how good the food is whether you’re dining in or ordering takeout. Not every restaurant can pull that off, but their dishes hold up beautifully, retaining their flavour, texture, and quality no matter how you enjoy them.

Although I don’t eat there as often as I used to, that’s no reflection on the restaurant itself. Jadeland has maintained the same charm, warmth, and delicious food that made it a family favourite decades ago. It remains my number one Chinese restaurant in Ottawa, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.“

“It’s hard to beat the price and connivence of Flour Kitchen. It’s cheaper then a lot of the other places on campus and restaurants around. The staff is super nice and the portions are large. Not a huge fan of the ultra small sauce containers but I understand it. Highly recommend!“

“It’s a real old fashioned Chinese restaurant. They have the best Egg Foo Young in town. Not many restaurants have egg foo young on the menu anymore. I have been coming to this restaurant for 22 years. I like the atmosphere because it looks like small town Canada. It is quiet and I feel relaxed when I am here enjoying the menu. Also - it has a giant menu and delicious specials daily. I have had delivery from them as well. They are great.“

The food is delicious, the portions are huge and the price is even better! They have the best wonton soup I’ve ever had, and their dry peanut noodles with beef is also amazing. “Love these guys. Typical Chinese-Canadian food, have been ordering the combo F for over a decade. Food is simple, but very tasty. Also, years ago (before uber eats and all that), I was actually missing a buck or two (mistake on my part, didn't count my money right like a first year university student that can't handle his liquor quite yet) and their delivery guy was nice enough to give me the food anyways. “Ordered a dozen egg roll, General Tso, Cantonese chow mein, chicken fried rice and chicken balls. The chicken balls come with more chicken than breading at a 70/30 ratio. The chow mein was very good and flavourful with fresh chicken shrimp and pork. Chicken fried rice was good same as most chinese spots. The General Tso on the other hand was a huge miss. It came bland, not too spicy and the sauce was broken and more watery than thick. Egg rolls were as they always have been for years- the best in the city.“

we have just had our fill of the excellent cuisine of the owner of Tai Hong Chinese food. All his dishes are abundant and delicious for this type of cuisine.

I have just reread Mr. Bélisle's comment which I find to be very severe for someone who has ordered 150 meals in the last 5 years, according to his own words. I don't doubt his bad experience during his last order but from there to give it a star!!!

As they once said, it is not customary and to err is human!

“Everything is simply awesome. The menus are simple, with a lot if options. The service is very polite and friendly (and online ordering is a big plus), food is delivered very promptly (one time it was 15 minutes early!). The food portions are generous, but quality is not sacrificed for quantity. What's a cool plus is that they use a mix of Styrofoam and reusable plastic containers (not only better for storage but a little less wasteful). I have only eaten 3 times from here, but have been very happy all times. The fried rice, general tao chicken, chicken balls, and egg rolls (among like 5 others I've tried) have all tasted great. Definitely think I've found my new Chinese delivery / take out place!“
