“Cod, chips and coleslaw. A big slab of fish with light and crispy breading. The thick cut fries also come in a pretty good portion. As well as a respectable sized coleslaw on the side. I'd say you're getting your moneys worth.
They have plenty of options and combos for haddock, cod, hake, and halibut. Though I didn't order them today, I highly recommend trying their P.E.I. mussels. They also have a selection of cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory! There are lots of comparable fish and chips places in the area. But Halibut House is my favourite for sure.

“We recently ordered take out from Thai on Brock and we really enjoyed the food. We ordered Basil Tofu, Coconut rice, Ginger Chicken, Green curry, and Pad Thai. The flavours were very good. The price is quite good too. The coconut rice had a great taste with the rest of the dishes. The portions were also reasonable and we had plenty of food leftover for the next day. If you enjoy Thai food, I would give them a try.“

“I was plesantly surprised with this restaurant. I am always a bit hesitant with older restaurants like this, I worry about cleanliness and food quality. But I gave it a shot and I am happy I did. The service was great, everyone was friendly. I got the souvlaki dinner and it was delicious. Id say one of the top souvlaki dinners in Durham. The portions were huge, i took quite a bit home. Prices were standard for a meal like that. Overall really happy with the experience. Would come back! Thank you.“

“Every time that I go, I am blown away by the menu options. There is nothing standard about what you are offered..and the flavour combinations will absolutely take your palate on an adventure. If you are looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with friends, family or even alone - go to Shrimp Cocktail. You won’t be disappointed.“

“First time here and we cannot recommend this place enough. staff? warm and friendly. atmosphere? calm and inviting. food? to quote my 10 year old: "it tastes like happiness" we had the seafood boil with the sea salt signature sauce, lobster, crab, shrimp, mussels, corn, potatoes, and we added noodles and crawfish. I think my kid thanked me seven times during this meal for bringing her here. we will 100% be back.“

“I had dinner at Red Lobster 🦞 Oshawa location and it was absolutely delicious, great service and price was very reasonable with great portions. It was so nice to have dinner and not be disappointed w the food, price and service. Fish and chips haddock Wednesdays for $17.“

“We come here often to hear musicians. I've never expected much from bar food but Nookies beats expectations. I've had many dishes here all have been good. I recently thought I would compare dish to dish. I was in a named Italian restaurant in Toronto and ordered their butternut squash pasta. I felt Nookies was much better. You just never know, Nookies is good food at a good price point.“

“This was among my few visits to a fish and chips location. I'm not a huge fish and chips fan, so I ordered the scallops. It was fantastic. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the sides were fresh. I will be sure to try the halibut on my next visit.“

“The blue cod here was WOW! I love the fact that Schooners offers something different vs. the competition where it’s all the same species of fish all of the time. The very nice lady behind the counter had a vast knowledge of the various fish species in the water and would definitely return again for another meal!!“

“We came here for lunch as a group. The place just opened around noon and there was no one.
We ordered only dim sum. The quality is good overall, a bit pricy but that’s expected for a casino location.
The servers didn’t seem especially friendly at first but when you get to know them they are quite nice.
I think it’s good to have some Chinese food to cater to the demographics.“
