“Can’t comment much on service and atmosphere since I had to go.
Their omakase to go was def great. Had the two person omakase and they come in a cute styrofoam box.
Fish variety is pretty similar to other omakase. Overall was good just going to point out the two that didn’t taste as well (Mackerel and Ikura) compared to all the other omakase I’ve been to. Besides that it was pretty stellar for a togo experience. Oh and uni and ikura were a bit in the smaller side as well
Parking: Free parking lot in a plaza but may be crowded as there’s a lot of restaurants“

“Very hard working owner and staff! Very polite and super smiley! Good quality service all the way until closing!
Wish I took a photo of our meal sets as the presentation was super cute and well done- but I was too excited and ate it all before I could snap one!
Would definitely recommend if you are in the Markham area!“

“We've drove through Uxbridge to Lindsay for years. Finally, we stopped for a dinner date. O M G ? you know how to make my taste buds dance. The foodie in me knows that's not an easy task. And I gotta say the Spicy Salmon rolls by far are the best we've ever hard. They use real minced chilli peppers and chicks of salmon. YESSS!! That's how you do it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well done.“

“Food was extremely fresh and presentation was beautiful. Food looked just like the pictures, how often can you say that? Seating for maybe 15 people inside. Bathroom was very clean. Food came out fast. I don't live in the area but will check this place out again next time I am.“

“On the way to Port Perry, we got hungry and decided to grab a bite at Markham.
Based on the reviews, we decided to try this place since Cafe Mozaiko looked like a good choice.
We didn’t check the menu, but it was exactly the kind of food we like. My son went for his usual order of the spicy salmon bowl. He said it was unbelievable and one of the best he has had. It came with pickled ginger, pickled seaweed and a spicy mayo. We decided to order chicken karaage bento for a change. The chicken was melt-in-the-mouth and the coating was very flavourful with the right amount of crisp. The sesame sauce it came with was also great. The rice was seasoned and paired very well with the chicken, not dry at all. The lychee iced tea had fresh lychee bits and was very flavourful. The taro milk tea tasted like real taro and the boba was good too.
Overall, a fantastic experience and we’ll be back to try the sushi.“

“Fish was fresh and got to eat take right in front of the chef. Food was prepared quickly but a little bit rough around the edges, however the most important part was the fresh fish.Went for lunch and ordered the Big Otoro roll and the daily special. Dined in and no one else was there on a Monday lunch which is expected. Place was clean and stocked with lots of take out ingredients.Don't think I need to come back here, yes it's fresh but being a downtown body, Kitaya ( l beside C&C near the science center) is a better option and taste equally as fresh. Plus they have great hojicha ice cream there.“

“This ramen shop is in a highly competitive area! I know what I am getting whenever to go to Kinton Ramen. So this place more than satisfied my tastebuds. I sortta would have told them to hold off the dressing on my dumplings. But other than that all is good in Ramen world.“

“I’ve come here with my husband for the last 12 years when we were dating. The food is amazing, always consistently good, and the staff are so kind, especially Victor and Jenny. Over the year we’ve brought family and friends here and it’s our favourite place to get AYCE. We used to live in the area but now drive 30 min just to come here to enjoy some great food. Always happy when I eat at Matsuda Steeles. Highly recommend.“

“Like a neighborhood japanese restaurant. I think it runs by a Japanese lady and a chef. I wanted to try my lunch somewhere new, and this place seems to exist for long, but I've never been. So I decided to make a visit. We ordered Miyabi set for two, which came with salad, steamed egg(which I love), assorted sushi and sashimi, ice cream for dessert.Food serving is very slow. You need to be very patient. But yes, it's really fresh and feels like you are invited to a Japanese house for lunch. Our tea was refilled every 10 minutes. I would go again when I'm not in a rush or take out next time.“

“We started going to this restaurant since covid-19. Honestly there were a lot of choices in Markham, and Ikon was not the only sushi restaurant we ordered our food. But things have changed because we can hardly find better restaurant in Markham. There are restaurants that focus on lots of menu choices, some name their food with unheard titles, and some raise their prices to make you feel theirs are imaginative "premium". But Ikon comes in simple packages. They give you the max quality of food in simple menu and shockingly reasonable price. The chefs and the owner (tall woman) always dress in clean and simple outfits, and then greet you with a warming tone as if you were a good friend. As a bonus, take-out orders come with a Japanese soft clothes to carry your food. The whole package is simple and beautiful. Thr portion is bigger than many places. Sadly not many restaurants are like this. Disclaimer: I don't own any restaurant. I do not know any of the staff members and the owners. Japanese food is our family's preferred cuisine.“

“I was intending on eating somewhere else but when I walked by and saw the ramen options I went in and ordered. I was NOT disappointed! I had the Hokkaido Pork Ramen and it was delicious! The pork was flavorful and well cut. The broth was delicious with lots of umame. I also had salmon sashimi and it was so tender and it melted in my mouth. Now that I know it's there I will go back when I'm nearby!“

“yummy“
“Ordered a 40 piece sushi sashimi tray for 2 people. It has a pretty good portion. Even with my big appetite, we felt satiated after finishing the platter. The fish has a thick cut, the way I like it. Unlike other restaurants where the cuts are so thin that you can see light coming through the meat. It is a take out only establishment, so I didn't bother rating the atmosphere. I'll most likely come back again.“

“Food is good and consistent.
Service is a bit slow.
Biggest issue is portion size. Paying for extra noodles is literally 1 bite... I'm not exaggerating. If you get 2 extra orders of noodles, it brings the bowl of noodles to over $20.... and still not full.
You need to seriously consider fixing this if you want to attract more customers and have more regulars.
I remember watching an interview with the owner of izakaya ju years ago and he said "I keep my prices low so customers can come everyday and won't feel like it's a special occasion"
If you're paying 25 bucks for a bowl of ramen... feels like a luxury compared to other options.
I'm good if you want to charge more... but make sure you actually feed me.“

“Solid poke bowls for a quick meal!
The Poke Box bowl:
- Salmon was pretty tender and fatty, tuna was decent as well
- Appreciate that you can do one topping substitute for no charge (swapped red onions for corn)
- Plethora of yummy toppings included, especially enjoyed the tamago which I think is pretty rare to find at poke places
- Can also choose your own finishing touches (sesame, furikake, togarashi, etc)
- The sushi rice base was a little too firm/bland, would have like it to be softer and seasoned more
At $17.3 for a regular, you get a pretty sizable portion (I was stuffed at the end). Also they make the bowl right in front of you, so you can get it in less than 5 minutes.“

“It's a family run business (I think) who are really sweet and very kind - I believe they are Japanese.
The taste is great my favorite of all times is the Sakura Roll, the cream cheese taste in the sushi with everything else on it (crap meat, lots of salmon, avocado, asparagus, cucumber) is just heaven. It's also deep fried. Many other special rolls options are available. I love the tampura shrimp and the yam - so good!
I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service is always great. I've been there three times but I regularly order through Uber Eats and Dashdoor. They gave me complimentary tea, water and Miso Soup 🍲.
Parking is always available every time I visit. Location is perfect.“

“Project sushi is a great spot for a quick lunch or linner. Service is fast and food is prepared quickly. The salmon set consists of thicc fish pieces that are dense and chewy. Delicious! “I had an amazing dining experience at this Japanese restaurant! The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the menu presentation was so unique with its rustic wooden design.
The food was exceptional! The sashimi platter was incredibly fresh, with perfectly sliced salmon, tuna, and yellowtail that just melted in my mouth. The sushi rolls were beautifully crafted and packed with flavor. The tempura dish was a highlight—crispy, light, and perfectly fried, with the lobster tail being the star of the plate.
The attention to detail and presentation of each dish truly showcased the chef’s dedication to authenticity and quality. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine with an elevated touch!“

“I typically come here for lunch after my child's doctor's appointment.

“I am very impressed! My boyfriend and I went here on a date in October. I haven’t had sushi from Ontario in so long. It was nice to eat sushi out from the east again. The owner was very kind, very professional and provided excellent service. She allowed us to have a sushi boat which I yearned for, on a small order of sushi. An oh my goodness, the miso soup is amazing! Normally it is a hit or miss with miso, but this one hits harder than anything that hits you in life. The broth is so flavourful, the complementary miso was just amazing! The food was very highly quality. I recommend this place!“

“We felt like getting sushi takeout and was going to be in the area so thought we'd give this place a try.
Value-wise, I think the prices were very good. It was a decent amount of food with good variety (for a 40 pc sushi/sashimi/rolls tray) along with some of their seasonal mango-inspired sushi. It wasn't the best sushi I've had, but for the price, I think it's very good. (The mango rolls kinda fell apart on the car ride home hence why it looks that in way the pics.)
Overall I think this place is worth a revisit.“
