“We met our Son from out of town for lunch. I had a gift card and we've been wanting to go there. Everyone was so friendly it felt like it wasn't our first time being there. The service was excellent and the food was so good and the portions were ample. We will definitely be dining there again.

“A Must-Visit Lunch Spot in McMinnville! Every time I visit McMinnville, this restaurant is at the top of my list—and once again, it did not disappoint! In fact, my friend and I loved it so much that we had lunch here twice during our trip. The corn chowder was absolutely fantastic—so creamy with just the right amount of seasoning. My friend enjoyed the ½ Turkey Sandwich, while I devoured the Chicken Cashew Salad, which was fresh and delicious. The broccoli cheddar soup was just okay, but the tomato vegetable soup was a standout, according to my friend. And let’s not forget the in-house wheat bread—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to our meal. Our waitress, Andrea, was incredible! “My husband and I have driven past this place for years and on a whim, decided to try it. The environment was cozy and felt like a perfect small town diner. We ordered two chicken fried steaks, chef salad, rosemary fries and 3 bacon, two eggs and pancakes. The food was beautiful and the portions were large! The pancakes were fluffy and moist and the garlic bread that came with my chef salad, made my husband smile. Overall the food was fufilling and didnt make us feel groggy afterwards. The waitress was attentive and super sweet. Worth the money we paid!“

“I’m from Portland, but visit my mom often in Forest Grove. Whenever I’m in the area, I always drive by The Ace but never stop. Last night that changed and I’m so glad it did! The two young ladies from 9/5/2024 last night at around 8pm, were wonderful! This sundae typically lasts me 2-3 days! This business is people of colour friendly!

“My partner and I had a wonderful evening after the local vineyards all afternoon. Walked in with no reservations but got a nice intimate table in the bar side. The drink menu was hand made and menu was on a chalkboard. This is my kind of place. The atmosphere was lovely and had the perfect Oregon welcoming vibe. All the employees made you feel welcomed and knew exactly what they were doing. I had the Strip Loin steak dish and I can confidently say this was one of the best steaks I have ever had at a restaurant. I asked for medium and it was cooked perfectly. I wanna genuinely say thank you Thistle for a highlight of my weekend getaway trip for my partner and I. We will definitely be back. 🥩🔥❤️“

I liked the large amount of cheese on the burrito. I wish it would have come with some salsa because the potatoes were a little dry by 9:30 am. “Berts chuckwagon is some of the better barbecue we have around here. Trouble is in the northwest we just don’t have a lot of barbecue. I feel like the sides are what really shine. His ribs are good. They do it smoked style but they are pretty tough and dry and that’s what happens when you smoke ribs. Mine are like 10 times better in the oven and so juicy they fall off the bone. He’s a nice guy and the prices are moderate for what they offer portions are pretty generous. I’ve eaten here multiple times when I didn’t feel like cooking. Will probably come back again. But I do prefer to make my own barbecue over berts.“

“I had the cowboy philly, it was so good, I couldn't stop feeling about it the whole time, lots of meat, lots of cheese, lots of peppers and with the Cajun fries and coleslaw..???it was so good I actually drooled into my lap. Brooke was very tentative and quick, Josie and Blaine were on the team as well. The kitchen staff really killed it with our food! Can't wait to tell all my friends to come here!“

“Went in as out of towners for a girls trip. We went initially to go to the roof top bar but it was already closed so we enjoyed a cocktail at the main bar. Rachel was our bartender and she was excellent. She took time to make this delicious cucumber margarita cocktail for my friend that had a lot of components and you could certainly taste the love! I would definitely recommend that drink and made by Rachel. Don’t complain about the time it takes to make it because it’s worth it and she is a true mixologist! Thank you Rachel!“
