This was our second stop on a Portland dumpling tour. Killer Banh Mi & Momo is a small spot in a strip mall that Google Maps seems to have a hard time navigating to... Still, we managed to slide into the parking lot eventually and parked easily. The restaurant is bright and colorful and smells terrific. There were homemade chicken pickles and homemade pork pickles in jars on the counter. Be sure to try some!
The tasting that we got with the tour included 4 dumplings; 3 vegetarian and one with chicken. All four were cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. Not too hot and certainly not plain! The first momo was crispy on the outside and dressed with a chickpea and onion relish (?) that complimented the veg filling. The second momo was a bit more savory with a wrapper that had a tender bite to it. The green dumpling was about what you'd expect with dim sum, but the sauce it sat in was a complete surprise - rich and brothy with just a hint of heat. And the egg rolls were crispy and tender with a bit of sweet sauce.
We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.“

“Portuguese muffins are my favorite. When visiting my grandparents Newport, RI, the muffins were always my favorite for breakfast - and in the past I have asked family to mail me muffins on occasion. Lottie & Lula's breakfast sandwiches on the muffins are to die for. I always get a 4-pack of muffins to take home. The bread was the true Prince. Opted for sourdough and it was tasty and even had a bit of crunch! No rubbery texture causing the ingredients to slide out with each bite. I got the small size as they come in large or small and it was perfect for what I needed since I wasn't overly hungry. Great first visit. I'll have to keep this one on my radar!“

“Awe, I wanted to have this be a slam dunk so bad. Ordered a sandwich and while everything was fresh, the bread was real tough for my sandwich. I did love how fresh the rest of the ingredients were and that it came with a side of chips. The service was alright and my food was ready when I arrived. They are tucked down a small “alley” lined with other small shops. Plenty of outdoor seating and seating indoors as well. Very nicely appointed inside and offer a cafe vibe. Street parking around the block can be sparse. Hopefully it will be better next time!“

“I would love to call Addy’s a “hidden” gem, but they are far too busy to ever be considered hidden! This cute sandwich shop is only open 4 hours a day, only Monday-Friday so if you want to try it you should plan to wait a bit for your food.

The wait is worth it however! They serve delicious sandwiches and salads, with generous portions for the price. I always enjoy checking what the daily sandwich and salad specials will be. They are usually creative, tasty, and healthy.

For me the tomato tapenade panini always hits the spot. They don’t skimp on the mozzarella! I usually get a turkey salad too, and it’s always chock full of cubed turkey and avocado.

The real pro tip here is to get some of the free sauces next to the water station. I love the green sauce they have. I would buy it by the bottle if I could!

The employees here are friendly! I mentioned that I wish I had gotten a side of the wild rice salad they had today, and the employee behind the register kindly gave me a sample!

“This is half of the roast beef mushroom and Swiss sandwich. The other half I ate before I get a chance to take a picture. Ever since I moved to this area I have frequent chunky subs, food cart and truly the owners are awesome. The food is hot fresh and delicious every single time you eat it. The owners are incredibly kind. The food is very generously priced and you get a lot for what you pay for. The food is delicious. The sandwiches are good. The tacos and burritos are good. Their hot Cheeto elote is amazing.

The only sandwich I haven’t tried is the Philly cheesesteak cause I lived in Philly for 10 years and I just don’t know if I have it in me to try. It’s not that I don’t trust them to make an amazing sandwich. It’s that I don’t know if it’s gonna taste like a real Philly cheesesteak and there’s something special about that greasy cheese whiz taste that you can only get while eating it off of a Wawa garbage can at 10:30 in the morning.“
