“I remember going to their original location down on Main St. right next to/connecting to the Half Moon. I moved here in 2008 and have known them for 14 years now. “We had a late lunch around 2pm here on a Saturday after fishing near Hagg lake. We had a party of 9 and had a party room available that could fit us all together at one table. We appreciated being able to be seated together. They do charge a tip/service charge of 18% to use the room. We tried the chicken teriyaki don, katsu don, beef don, and salmon teriyaki don,oyakodon, as well as a salmon avocado roll. Everything was presented nicely and tasty. The dons included a small dish of soy based green beans. The one drawback was the kitchen was a little on the slow side, perhaps due to the time (2pm) we were being served.“

“I am a local guide who does reviews on restaurants and I am happy to recommend Mandarin China Restaurant! They are consistently delicious, the seasoning is spot on and the meat is tender and the vegetables crispy. The portions are generous and the timing for pickup is generally right on target. Forest Grove has a real winner with Mandarin China Restaurant!!!“

“Quality ingredients, and super worth if you get their $10 cheeseburger combo before 4pm (comes with truffle fries and a fountain drink). Burgers are cooked to medium by default unless you ask for it to be cooked differently (stated in small print on their menu)

Even without the deal: fair pricing in my opinion, all things considered. I could see some people thinking the burger looks a little small, but I think it's a pretty typical size. It's just a little taller with a smaller circumference, but it gives it a better meat to bread ratio in my opinion. Good size for me but for someone with a larger than average appetite or greater caloric needs, you'd probably want to get the double or get two cheeseburgers.

More thoughts:

Was a first time customer as someone from out of town just passing through. Got the $10 deal. Service was friendly and the staff seem very hardworking.

Burger: Solid burger. Thick juicy patty (1/4 lb) and decent beef quality. Personally would prefer a less shredded lettuce. Cheese coverage could've been better but I think that's just how the slices come (and I might be nitpicking at this point). Can't speak on the pickles since I got my burger without them.
Fries: Great texture. The fry sauce is nice. I think I would actually prefer them without the truffle oil but I can see why other people would like it a lot.

Guessing they don't have tomato as an option. Didn't see it anywhere on the menu but also didn't ask. Would be a nice option to have to be able to add on (if it's not already one).

Came in during a slow hour and was there long enough to observe a bit of a lunch rush. Self service kiosk should maybe be moved a little further to the side from the face to face order taker spot. I think that minor change would improve order taking efficiency and would probably make the line more pleasant. Some customers seemed to have a strong preference for the self service kiosk but it created a slightly awkward line that blocked the face to face ordering.

Bathroom was pretty clean but they did not have seat covers stocked. I appreciated that they did not have air hand dryers (paper towels are way more sanitary anyways).

Overall, solid, charming burger spot. Definitely thoroughly enjoyed my food. Will likely be back if I'm ever in the area again.“

However, it turned out that Google had the wrong information about their operating hours. Despite this setback, the staff at Baja Fresh were incredibly understanding and patient with us. They took our orders efficiently, and we ended up enjoying our meal at home.“

This was our first time visiting our local MOD Pizza here in Hillsboro, and wow—what an experience!
From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a good time. Christopher greeted us at the door rocking a cowboy hat, and that instantly set the tone for a fun and welcoming visit. As we went through the ordering process, he kept the energy going—he was hilarious, easy to banter with, and made the whole experience genuinely enjoyable.
It wasn’t just about ordering pizza—it felt like a real human connection, which you don’t always get these days. Christopher truly made our visit memorable, and you can tell he loves what he does.
And of course, the pizza was amazing too!
We’re so excited to have found our new MOD “family” here in Hillsboro. Thank you for such a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back soon!

Instructor was great at slowly walking the group thru steps to learn. Loved the happy hour drink prices. The employees were really nice and helpful. I didn’t order food so can’t give feedback there. Several tables around the dance floor if you just want to sit and watch others or enjoy your food. Loved it!“
