“Look at this burger! I promise it was as delicious as it is beautiful. Top that off with a frosty pint, tons of TVs playing all the sports games, pool tables, friendly family atmosphere (this is a literal mom and pop business) and great service and you have the perfect place to become a regular at.
Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly“

“My waiter was outstanding, friendly and helpful. Food not so much. It's called Biscuits so I was expecting a lot from them, but they were kind of gummy and not very crisp. The corned beef hash was odd: a lot of shredded corned beef but not very many potatoes, and the potatoes looked like slivers of onions!?!“

“One of the best brunch spots in Portland. Everything is high quality, and they even have delicious mocktails! The seasonal veggie hash was a clear winner for us. The fried chicken was so juicy and tender. Highly recommend- come early because it’s crowded and there’s always a line!!“

“Real neat place with fun staff. I got the Beast and the Beauty sandwich, and it was huge! Absolutely delicious with a ton of meat and delicious toppings. My friend got a gluten free Rose City smashburger, and it was on a sliced sandwich bread that got toasted but no complaints from them. Definitely recommend.
Dietary restrictions: Seems like the only gluten free bread they have is sliced loaf bread.“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!
Kid-friendliness: Not great for kiddos.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair accessibility tables.“

“Their newer digs in the SE warehouse district are tougher to spot than their pre-covid NW ones, but the hunt is worth it. Look closely for an unassuming sign above the door. Their charcuterie and mussels are as good as ever, and the gazpacho, even better. The new space is divided: One part larger, more airy; the bar part darker and more intimate. Take your pick. The service isn't stuffy but very attuned to the menu and diners. We had a great experience. OP earned its recent rave review in the Oregonian's 2025 Best Restaurants.“

“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! Thank you!“

“Cozy little place with awesome food and great servers. The eggs Benedict was awesome and the chicken cordon scramble was good too. Ask Kari for the Kari menu and she'll give you some interesting ideas worth trying! (Hope I spelled her name right.)“

“Since I’ve arrived in Portland, I have not received great service. But this place changed my perspective. One of the bartenders made me and my friend feel at home during our time at punchbowl. Finn, an amazing bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we knew about any specials happening. There are fun games to play and Finn told us to come in for their all day happy hour on Monday, which had $5 drinks and half off food. It was well worth it and added some entertainment to our Portland visit.
If you’re visiting Portland stop bye PunchBowl, and ask for Finn!“

“Ate here with my family in October 2024. Nice sunny, chilly day visiting Portland. I had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. My boys had burgers and loved them. The lemonade was delicious but expensive for the little cup. In a little section off the street with 3 other food trucks, and some outdoor picnic seating. We had no problem parking around the corner, but no parking right in front. Free water and cups are available in the seating area.“

“I ordered the Strawberry salad to go. So good! Perfect for a very warm summer dinner. Quite large and filling. And generous with the toppings of berries, hazelnuts, and blue cheese.
It was ready for pickup when I arrived after work, which is always a plus
Will definitely eat here again. Just wish they were open on a weekend...“

“I've always had decent food here at Bannings. This morning I ordered Pumpkin pancakes.....what a disappointment. The pumpkin batter needed salt added to it and it also could have used a bit more sugar in the batter. The syrup was not real maple syrup but table top ad says, "warm maple syrup," so I expected real maple syrup. It also says, "whipped butter." I asked the waiter about the maple syrup and he told me it was "artificial" maple and argued the fact that the restaurant never said "real" maple syrup. Maybe the butter is whipped margarine...who knows what liberties are taken in menu descriptions. I'm a "real" maple syrup customer.“

“So, I'd like to give this place 5 stars, but the place is a lie. They are named jojo, say they have jojos, but it's a lie. They have the best fried baked potatoes I've had in a while, but they sure as heck aren't actual jojos. They aren't pressure fried. They're double cooked. That's not a jojo. Liars.“

“If you are looking for a quiet unassuming place with good food at a reasonable price, this is your spot. It is the restaurant attached to a hotel in the slabtown neighborhood. At Sunday brunch time, there were only 4 people although we were told it can be very busy. The food was perfectly prepared, the coffee was good, and the waiter was engaging and helpful. This is not a.trendy foodie hotspot, which is what makes it an understated gem. The menu misspellings gave us a laugh, but the chef's cooking skills are no joke. We thought it offered excellent value in these days when everything is so expensive. Off the beaten track, and well worth a visit!“

“This is a beautiful spot to sit and listen to some vinyls. Loved the atmosphere and the service was top notch. Why only 4 stars? The food was lacking a little in price and in flavor. We had the burger, BLT, and chicken parm sandwich. The chicken parm sandwich was 100% fantastic but we asked for no pickles. The burger was small for the price especially compared to the price of the chicken parm sandwich. The burger was very bland and I was disappointed that adding tomato would cost extra. The BLT had more lettuce than I'd prefer. One common issue was the garlic aioli is very strong! It was so overpowering that I couldn't taste the cheese on the burger or the bacon in the BLT. The fries were delicious. I would go back again for the chicken parm sandwich. Another issue was we had to wait quite a while for our food but we didn't know about the event down the road and our server apologized so I would definitely check it out on a less busy night.“

“Possibly the best chicken tenders I've ever had. Juicy and crunchy in all of the best ways. So much better than the frozen stuff most places serve.

“Amazing little, literal, hole in the wall for some quickish eats. Food is fresh and on point and the staff is super friendly. What more is there? Highly recommend the Spicy Russian. The Pastrami is hard to beat at this price. $1 chips and sodas like the ole’ days. Do it!“

“I made a reservation and arrived to discover it was not very busy on a Sunday night. Very nice looking pub style and very quiet (at least on this night). Found the menu somewhat limited as far as selections with many out of my usual likes, but that's just my taste. My wife and I both chose the Crystal Smash burger. I got the tater tots with mine. My wife got the fires. The tots and fries were both cooked perfectly. The burgers were a good size and the beef was very delicious. I really enjoyed the style of bun they use. They serve RC Cola products which I am good with. We are not in downtown Portland very often and this was a new place for us. Overall dining experience was positive. Our server was very pleasant.“

“Not my favorite Mike's, that would be the Oregon City location, but this place smacks. Food is great, service is always fun, if a little slow at times. My issues are with the actual location - which is treacherous. And that it's best for the mild weather. Not so much for the rainy season. Or the extreme heat we've had recently. No indoor seating.“
