“Loved our visit to pFriem last night. The atmosphere was lively even on a Wednesday night but not too loud. The beer was great, I especially liked the passionfruit hazy. The food was one of the best I've had at a Portland area brewery. We enjoyed the apple bleu cheese salad, the wings and the brat plate. So nice finding a brewery with an in house kitchen that serves more variety than sandwiches or pizza. We will definitely be back.“

“We live 3/4 across the country in Indiana but every time we come to town we always visit the Ale & Cider House. The lady who owns the place and always seems to take care of us and is always very friendly. As for the beers and ciders they are the best we’ve had. Loved the ciders before they filtered them but still taste just as good but without the “look”.😉 A true gem that you must try next time you are in the quaint little town of West Linn. I usually stop buy have a pint and order food to go which most of the time I don't even finish my beer before the food is ready.“

“My biggest criticism is the lack of cleanliness in themed restaurants these days. You put so much effort into decor, and a yearly cleaning would not be too much of a sacrifice for decorum. Bartender was too busy to tend to the tables. Gave a good tip, but while I understand I was underwhelmed.“

“We got insane sandwiches at Dos Hermanos next-door and they said we were allowed to eat in this tap room. The guy said we didn’t have to buy anything but we did because it was such a come up. The space is cool and beautiful and the bartender and staff made us feel very welcome.You self bus and you can get food from the surrounding cart pods.“

“Love this place! Jen and the whole crew are so friendly, welcoming and just overall kind people. The food was fantastic, from the burgers to salads to the pretzel and pizza and chicken tenders on the kids menu, everything was fresh, homemade and delicious. We tried the beer sampler- it did not disappoint- huge variety, loved the hazy. Even the cab was amazing, which is not usually the case when you visit a brewery. “Stopped for a brew. Had the watermelon hibiscus which was yummie. Fresh crisp and tastes of summer. Refreshingly light.
Hubby had the Kolsch. Good stuff. Then a pale ale.
Multiple food vendors. Thai, Venezuelan, Mexican, Indian, Cuban. Had the chicken saag and tacos. Fresh and tasty.“

“Very cool tour - great tour guide and well worth the price. Highly recommend you go early and get a piece of pizza by the slice - the pizza is an absolutely fantastic and proper New York style slice pizza.“

“The McMenamins is basically the same as all the others I've been in. But the theater rocks! It's a very old theater with a very old fashioned style, but it's been well kept up and I enjoy going there just for that.

Parking: It's a very busy area, so you may have to park a few small blocks away.

“We wanted to find something fun and simple for our anniversary dinner and McMenamins was it. We walked in and it was quiet, fire going. It was perfect.
Their seasonal cocktails were amazing.
And the food tasted PERFECT.
I asked for an extra coaster just to have as a little keepsake for our anniversary date and our server gave us 3!

“Excellent Coffee Tour. The gentleman that did the tour was extremely knowledgeable about all things coffee. It was easy to follow the things that he said and we were able to sample the Sumatra and Kenya blends. I Love That Mcmenamins makes the extra effort to make sure they are working with fair trade brands and no chemicals. Its so cool to learn about the ends and outs of roasting the beans and the formulas they have to follow. I had no idea all that went into making an awesome cup of coffee.“

The service was friendly and she and the kitchen did a great job considering it seemed there was a large group ahead of us. The cheese smash burger was, well, very cheesy, but super delicious. I broke up the richness a bit by putting on some lettuce and pickled onion from the salad on it. The French fries were shoestring-style and so crispy and crunchy. We liked the seasoning salt on them as well. We also got Mac and cheese—divine! And the poppers, which were eaten so quickly I didn’t get to try any so they must have also been great. Plenty of seating inside with AC or outside with a beautiful patio with plenty of shade and space for four-leggers.“

But each one is really cool and there is a reason they're the only brewer that's growing rather than disappearing like so many taprooms in Portland. This is a really cool place with pool tables and tabletop shuffleboard. And they've renovated so many cool buildings: theaters, hotels, taverns, etc that it's worth visitinf at least a couple.“

“We had the most incredible time on Friday. It was pouring and we sat at the bar and on their covered patio. The beer was incredible, cocktails out of this world, and the best cider. “This business was originally called the Wilson-Chambers Mortuary. It was built in 1932 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. This is a cool looking historical building and a must see. The bartender was very nice and told me some of the history of the building. Be sure to check out the food.“

“Stopped in to try the burgers on a Monday night. The vegan burger choice tasted good, although a bit overpriced with the up charge of $2 for the single vegan patty substitute, then minus the cheese and sauce, when the meat burgers are double patty at $17 with the works. Then add the $2.50 for fries. So I felt a little bit gouged for being a vegan. Also they were out of diet coke. They do have a full bar despite the google listing only beer & wine. Vibe was relaxing on this Monday night, server was pleasant but only one server on duty and then the payment system crashed so not server's fault that things moved a bit slow. I'll try this place again some day to see if things improve.“
