50 Best Fast Food Restaurants in Portland

“Currently they are running a special called the Mariners Burger, which mimics the classic Seattle Dog in smash burger form. It's amazing, and absolutely inspired. However I'm not just here to write about the exceptional food this place serves, but rather the literal magic they deliver:

So, yesterday (10/17/2025 for future record) I, a lifelong Mariners fan, picked up said inspired burger on my way home from work to watch game 5 of the ALCS. For those who don't know, this is an historically rare feat for the Mariners, and as excited as I was to watch the game I was also starving.

Fast forward to my arrival home--the M's are down 2-1 and are once again beginning to look like a team that forgot how to play baseball. I sit on my couch exasperated, next to my dog with burger in hand. First bite: delicious, creamy, jalapeno spicy, CAL (BIG DUMPER) RALEIGH HITS A HOMER TO TIE THE GAME! I lose it, go absolutely ecstatic, dog is barking, etc. I realize I need to stand up and get some water so I do that. Next thing that happens, Blue Jays load the bases as I'm processing all of this sensory overload. I realize I'm once again starving and take a second bite--EUGENIO SUAREZ GRAND SALAMI! This is not hyperbole, nor lie, both bites led to some of the most impactful and momentous events in Seattle Mariners baseball history. My soul left my body, my brain still doesn't function right, and this morning I still believe that this burger made history happen last night through osmosis and magic.

Tomorrow is game 6 of the ALCS. Will definitely be buying another burger, maybe 5 for it.“

“We happened upon this place while walking back to our hotel from the Roseland theater, but I would drive an hour to eat here again! The Dolma salad was overflowing with dolmas, tons of parsley, fresh veggies, a large helping of humus, tzatziki and a generous sprinkle of sumac. We truly enjoyed it.“

“One of the best burgers I’ve had in awhile.Size was worth what I paid for the area as well. Curly fries were well seasoned and crispy. Cheese curds were also on the money! Loved it. “We ordered Momo Soup and chicken chowmein and the preparation was great! The portion of the food was great for price and the service was very accommodating too. They have this amazing red chutney they serve with momos that is very very hot, exactly how I like it. This place has a more of a Nepali preparation as opposed to North Indian. The place where is food truck is located has a chill vibe and lots of seating space to enjoy your meal.“

“Paid Face Plant a visit after hearing many good things from friends. I’ll preface by saying I’m not vegan or vegetarian but was down to give the concept a try.

It’s in a bit of an odd part of town which I was surprised by but it’s a lovely little corner they have. We wound up going in to order vs doing a drive through but it looks as though they could accommodate a large amount of volume. The inside atmosphere is simple but clean with nice branding. Feels classic and timeless.

Food wise went with the standard combo meal with a strawberry shake and a small side of nuggies. The burger as someone who typically eats meat was definitely the closest vegan equivalent I have had. Even the cheese which I usually avoid was pretty solid. It was hearty and tasty. The fries were also good and the shake was a big time standout. Not sure what vegan equivalent they use but the shake was rich and thiccc. Couldn’t have told you it was vegan.

Service was solid and they brought the food to our table which was nice. I can imagine that with a large group or a busy time it could get backed up a bit, but we found it alright. There’s ample parking in the parking lot for guests looking to dine in.“

“Tried the lamb gyro, falafel, and hummus. All top notch. I would say even better than most sit down Mediterranean places I've had. Fair prices and good portions. The staff was friendly. Probably my new favorite food cart downtown.
I would say falafel is hit or miss at most places. But here they have such a fantastic balance of crispy texture and flavor/spice.“

“So disappointed... That I didn't know about this place sooner!! Last night my husband told me he had NEVER eaten a gyro. I knew I had to correct this immediately. So, I started looking for gyros near me. Now, since he's never tried one, I didn't want him to have a bad first experience that would put him off of them forever since I enjoy them so much. I chose this establishment based on very high google reviews (5 stars) and because it's so close to where we live (5 mins). This place has gone beyond expectations! The food is amazing! “Right off the freeway, super easy to get on and off the freeway from here. My son and I got a late night meal here after a Weird Al concert on Thursday Aug 14 2025. We were hungry and about 40 miles away from home, we got off the freeway, got our food and got back on the freeway in about 10 min. Food was fresh, served fast and super tasty. Thank you“

“In an unlikely location in the heart of the issues on 82nd this restaurant is my go to because of the great customef service which defines the phrase fastfood. You are in and out so fast that im impressed every time. Eating out has become a very expensive trip out for the individual and the family. This place howeve,r is reasonbly priced and the food is excellent -especially the rootbeer freeze -which is second to none. Check it out its worth the trip.

“They only do a few things...and they do them VERY well. A hallmark of some of the best chains there are. They don't focus on any flashy graphics - in fact everything is basic primary colors, plain fonts, and simple pictures. They don't have big ad campaigns. There's no gimmicks. No flash. No fluff. Just really good burgers (they do a single, and a double. That's it.) with a tangy burger sauce, pickles that look and taste homemade, and perfectly seasoned crinkle cut fries, none of which gets cooked until you order it. Your food is always hot and fresh. The fries are always crisp and golden. It may look like a generic fast food place out of a throw-away scene in a Nickelodeon movie...but do NOT let that fool you. This is a must-try spot. In my humble opinion, it is the ideal fast burger place.“

“Very well made food. The fries were hot and crispy. it came with the right amount of salt and ketchup packets. The drive through staff was nice and friendly and I did not have to wait long for the fresh chicken patty yum. The only thing was the trash people left around the building made it kinda displeasing.“

The space is small and can seat 20 at the most.

The decor is minimal and too much concrete for me.

“This is the cleanest fast food restaurant on 82nd I've seen. Bathrooms are very clean, including parking lot. A lot of homeless people hang around out side due to the bus stop being right on the side walk near the building but had no issues with them. The service has been the fastest I've seen in a while less then 5 minutes after Ordering. Even when asked to site out front to wait for meal. Great place love their Oreo large shakes they have now they really hook it up. And the plus side is the drive thru is open 24 hours witch is great for that late night munchies.“

“A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. “The highest quality restaurant available at the Washington Square Mall food court. They have a pretty extensive menu of different Indian foods, including a lot of options available to eat right after purchase as well as items that they make fresh after you order. They offer different types of meats and sauces, and all that I've tried so far have great flavor. Their butter chicken is definitely a favorite from a lot of people who order. It is a pricier option than other restaurants around it, but not by much, and well worth it. Service is really nice and the employees take the time to remember you if you're a repeat customer. “This place is amazing. Everything is delicious here, even the stuff I don’t normally drink. Soon as you walk up they fill you up with multiple samples and allow you to try all of the drinks they have to offer. They are all so good I always leave with more than 1 drink, but I only have 2 cup holders in my car so I can never buy more than 3 at a time. I wish they had bottles of their drinks so I could take more home.“

“Came in a couple weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed. I don’t usually like Mod pizza put I thought I would give it another shot. I didn’t know what to get so I asked Elliot which one he thought was good. He said the Mad Dog with bacon and it was amazing!!! I realized I wanted the fresh mozzarella too. He took the little pizza off the shelf and scooped it on. He even got me a free drink with the lunch special. Gave him a 5$ tip and told him not to share it with anyone but he put it into the tip jar instead. Thoroughly impressed with the customer service here and I think he deserves a raise for getting me to like Mod pizza!! Will continue to come.“

“Glad to see someone took over the old Burger King on grand ave. It had been vacant for many years. They gave it a nice face-lift. Everything looked bright and new. Maria F. did a great job juggling front counter, door dash, and drive thru. Very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would suggest is to pipe in some music into the dinning room.“
