Got the Fresh Prince, which doesn’t come with cheese and I debated adding it, but i didn’t and I didn’t miss it! The flavors are so well balanced and delicious, the sour dough was just awesome. Everything together was phenomenal, and I immediately wanted more.“

“Portuguese muffins are my favorite. When visiting my grandparents Newport, RI, the muffins were always my favorite for breakfast - and in the past I have asked family to mail me muffins on occasion. Lottie & Lula's breakfast sandwiches on the muffins are to die for. I always get a 4-pack of muffins to take home. “I stopped by with a friend and his girlfriend to check this place out, and overall, it delivered a solid experience. I ordered the Southern fried chicken, which was flavorful and well-cooked. Fair warning: it comes generously coated in sauce. It adds great taste, but it’s definitely a hands-on meal, grab plenty of napkins before digging in.

The JoJo’s were a standout. Perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice, they’re dangerously easy to keep eating. They reminded me of Pringles in the best way, once you have one, it’s hard to stop.

As for pricing, it sits on the mid-to-higher end. It’s not a budget spot, so come prepared to spend a bit more.“

“Got the chicken and the pork katsu sandwiches for our train ride. Even after sitting in our bags for a couple of hours, both were delicious even if they weren’t crispy anymore. Got extra sauce as others have advised and it was not truly necessary (but it was nice!) Tonkatsu sauce is like regular tonkatsu sauce, which is very yummy imo. Love that there is cabbage instead of lettuce, as cabbage sits better over time and doesn’t get wilty or weird like lettuce does in a bento.

We got our food in less than 10 mins and service was friendly. I think I may prefer Tokyo Sando’s chicken sandwich a little bit better but the cute ambiance and indoor seating spaces makes this preferable in the winter.

My one little gripe is that I wished the meat was a little wider and reached the edges of the sandwich bread. But overall I was full and happy.“

“This place is great! Locally owned and operated. Quite possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Have eaten there 2x so far, and pleasantly surprised both times. Bought my staff lunch from here, and they were all mystified at how good a sandwich could be. The first time I was there, I had the special, a bologna & cheese. Described as “something you want when you get out of the pool
In the summer”. This past visit I had the tuna (it’s smoked. Whoa.) and it was a culinary adventure. Not your mom’s tuna sandwich, that’s for sure. Another employee had the Cesar and noted that the bread was garlic bread?! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING, NOSHPIT?! FIVE STARS.“

Everything was fresh made, but the godfather sandwich I felt a bit bland. I wish it had a little bit more flavor or seasoning to bring it stand out. Maybe we didn’t order the right sandwich option. Overall, it’s a decent sandwich spot to have in Portland.“

“Jojo comes up on a lot of PDX "Best of..." lists, and as a result, when I was looking to book a reservation and found no convenient time slots available, I figured the next best alternative would be to skip the BS and just hit up the food cart. Good choice.

Reasonably priced for a premium burger in Portland, I went with the Mr. Onion Burger, which lived up to the name in every way possible: an assortment of awesome Alliums assembled under a bun, and tied together with a tasty, tangy Alabama white mustard. Very much approved! I'm now even more intrigued to return and try the Spicy Cheeseburger, which would normally have been my #1 pick, but I wanted to try something different.

Of course, one can't eat at Jojo's without trying the Jojo's, right? And my visit was no exception: a small order of the Nashville Hots was a fantastic accompaniment, even if the red sauce and breading got absolutely everywhere! And even a small order is a sizeable portion, meaning I took half of it home with me, for later.

Jojo came with a lot of hype and expectations, but they knocked it out of the park, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. And if you're like me, and you don't need any pretense to enjoy a classic burger at a reasonable price, don't bother reserving a table in NW; just head over to this cart on SE Powell.

Parking: Plenty of parking at the John's Marketplace lot.

“I visit here on a regular basis as it's very close to my job and a place I can get in and out of pretty quickly. It's service goes above and beyond. I love the owner and it's workers. They are friendly and fast. I always order the bulgogi without lettuce, tomato and peppers and it's honestly so good, I'm afraid to try anything else but their menu is so large I know without a doubt I'd like pretty much anything offered. My kids and husband also enjoy the bulgogi as well as the teriyaki chicken and spicy pork bowl. I definitely recommend“

Completely missed seeing the specials board somehow, which had a great vegan sandwich listed, but the whole menu has great options for whatever your diet is (except maybe GF, but they also have salads). The drink selection in the bodega is also awesome, a lot of unique options, and they have UTZ chips (including the dill pickle flavor), which I haven't seen anywhere around here before! Anyways, the sandwiches are bomb, and I will for sure be back.“

“I went out at 2:20 in the morning to get something to eat. I did not expect to eat one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at that price range. The store owner was very nice and gave me a few recommendations for what to eat and he made an excellent choice because the food was amazing. The environment around the outside of the store was a little rough but that was not the store owners fault and shouldn’t take away from the quality of the food. Overall a great place to eat, would recommend for a night munch.“

“Coming from Detroit it’s tough for me to swallow paying $14 for a 5 and 1 on hard bread, but that is the cost of having better paid workers and a walkable neighborhood. If you’re going to spend on a sandwich out, it has to be good. I’ve now had a regular and the Mercury Sandwich Week 2026 Special and both were nice. Quick, easy, filling. “I have been coming here for years to get their sandwiches. They are always great. Sometimes you will get a new trainee but they are learning so I cut them some slack. I have bought sandwiches from Jersey Mike's all over the state but this location with Dave the Manager is the best. Dave is a super great guy. He will do his best to accommodate the customer. There are stores closer to my house but I will drive a little bit further to support Dave at this location. Keep up the good work Dave.“

“While I can also easily visit the Hollywood & Couch locations, I've always enjoyed stopping by the Fremont location as well (it's right off the 8 bus on the way to/from Alberta street). The store is quite busy but is also well-stocked, organized, & carries the customary large number of vegan-friendly products & brands. “Monkey subs has been by far the best sub shop in town for over a decade, but lately their sandwiches have changed. I’m not sure if they changed their bread but lately it has tasted hard and stale and the meat portions have dwindled to only a few slices. They used to load the meat on. Might give it one last shot but it’s not what it used to be.“
