“Offbeat Cafe is so cozy, and it's got plenty of space to sit and work on something or to just chill with some coffee. Their pastries are unique and tasty, and they've got a nice selection of seasonal and interesting drinks! Also, free bubbly water! They also have their own (small) parking lot, but there are lots of other places to park as well. 10/10 my favorite coffee shop in Salem!“

“I love the laid back atmosphere where delicious food is served. Fresh salads with a variety of ingredients are very satisfying. The hearty wraps are made with wonderful combinations. My favorite are the sweet potato fries. They have a variety of sauces for dips too. I deeply appreciate the fact that they deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I have limited mobility and have difficulty preparing large meals. I can have the family over and be a happy hostess as a result of this service.“

“It’s still so hard to rate Chinese food after eating at Kwan’s for so many years, but China Gourmet is a wonderful hidden gem in north central Salem. The service is great and the restaurant is cozy yet small. The food is delicious and flavorful and was fresh and hot. Pot Stickers were amazing. So was the Kung Poa Chicken and the Garlic Sauce Chicken. BBQ Pork fried rice was as expected and we will try a different fried rice next time.“

“A good take n' bake pizza, so if you have a little extra time you can pick these up and in 10-12 minutes have a hot pizza. During October they have a Jack o lantern pizza.

Vegetarian options: They have dozens of different veggie toppings.

Dietary restrictions: My daughter has a friend with allergies to gluten and this was one place that can accommodate her.

Kid-friendliness: They have mini pizza kits so that your kiddos can put their pizzas together. That's what I would always get my girls.

I live in Portland, but Dough Hook is becoming a regular thing when I'm in Salem almost every week lol. Just the best I've had by far, and the varieties are excellent. Right this moment as I type, my favorite is the marionberry-lemon donut - yum. Definitely check it out if you're in Salem - order early!“

“We were in Salem for a concert at the Elsinore Theatre on Friday, November 1st, and were lucky enough to find the Wild Pear, to get something to eat before concert. I wanted to try everything on the menu, it sounded so good! I ordered the Butternut soup & Pear salad. Both were fabulous, & I can't wait to drive back to Salem to check out other items on the menu. We had awesome service and were greeted & shown to a table right away. You will not be disappointed! I will definitely be back, & wish you were closer to Vancouver, WA!!“

The raspberry jam is real raspberry jam. The water mentioned in the another review is because they are on a well so it does taste little bit more tinnish, a lemon wedge in my water cured that. Stopped by the fruit stand for fresh strawberries, on the spendy side, but oh the flavor, absolutely nothing beats an Oregon strawberry. Had I known they did strawberry short cake, I woulda skipped the breakfast and went straight to the fruit stand.“

“We had the greatest meal here. If you are looking for a vegan/vegetarian friendly place that also has local beer on tap, Venti's is a must. Their vegan grilled cheese sandwich was delicious.“

“Where to begin? The location looks great, and it has a good vibe to it. The customer service is top notch, my server was very nice and even put some special attention with a message on our anniversary order bag (very sweet!).

Now the food. The flavor on the beef ramen is fantastic. The beef is tender, the noodles are cooked perfectly and all the veggies tasted fresh. The Takoyaki here has to be some of the best in Salem. I also tried the fried chicken bun for the first time, great flavor, soft bun and crispy chicken in the middle.

My wife ordered the chicken stir fry ramen, fresh veggies, fried chicken all tasted amazing.

Wheelchair accessibility: It might be a little tricky to wheel between tables. The booths do not have room for a wheelchair at the end of a booth, but open tables are available. Also, they have outside seating, & can start a fire if it's cold. But it's not enclosed.“

That being said, it's REALLY great food and they do offer take out and it's also so good. It reminds me of all the photos and videos of tiny sushi places in Japan. They offer all you can eat on Sundays.“
