“Disclaimer, I didn't eat the food myself as I'm plant based. Dennis and Auntie makes it homey. When I look at the pictures and food, it feels authentic and rich, yummies families eat. Portions are great. Definitely smells tempting while I'm enroute to deliver these. Ordered BBQ pork skewers for my Greek friend and he can't stop raving about it. He asked me to get more for him on his birthday. Got the pork adobo for another friend. OMG! Delicious! He's a born and raised Louisiana chef so quite judgy when it comes to food. Definitely, ordering some dishes for my visiting family!“

“Lunch is like a 3 coarse meal at a very low cost. Two of us went. We picked from the lunch menu, received their complimentary appetizer with garnishes, our lunch, and an orange with an umbrella (cute). Total was less than $22. Cannot eat anywhere in Salem at lunch for 2 at this price. Great food!!“

“Fabulous evening with friends before Christmas. The decorations are warm and welcoming along with having the talented pianist at the grand piano. I had the most delicious seafood pasta ever. Large prawns and sweet scallops with homemade pasta was scrumptious. My husband had lobster tail on beet risotto. A little skeptical we all had a taste and it was delicious, too. We appreciate Mo’s graciousness and celebrate his almost 35 years in Salem. Our server Stevie, was efficient, friendly and took great care of us. Best restaurant in Salem.“

“We were in Salem for a concert at the Elsinore Theatre on Friday, November 1st, and were lucky enough to find the Wild Pear, to get something to eat before concert. I wanted to try everything on the menu, it sounded so good! I ordered the Butternut soup & Pear salad. Both were fabulous, & I can't wait to drive back to Salem to check out other items on the menu. We had awesome service and were greeted & shown to a table right away. You will not be disappointed! I will definitely be back, & wish you were closer to Vancouver, WA!!“

“This is my favorite restaurant in the entire universe. I have been coming here with my family for years and have spent almost all my birthday dinners here. They serve THE BEST food you’ve ever had. Once you’ve eaten at China Gourmet you can never eat at another Chinese restaurant again because nothing will ever compare to how amazing their food is! The owners are so kind and funny and welcoming. Being in their presence is half the experience. I’m so grateful for this restaurant and the owners-Jade is the best! We are so lucky to have this place, everyone needs to experience the amazingness that is China Gourmet!! You will not regret coming here! “It is hard to find good breakfast in this area and Cafe 22 hits the spot. I love their peaches, the pancake thickness isnt overly cakey and hard to swallow. The bacon is thick and cooked just right. The raspberry jam is real raspberry jam. The water mentioned in the another review is because they are on a well so it does taste little bit more tinnish, a lemon wedge in my water cured that. Stopped by the fruit stand for fresh strawberries, on the spendy side, but oh the flavor, absolutely nothing beats an Oregon strawberry. Had I known they did strawberry short cake, I woulda skipped the breakfast and went straight to the fruit stand.“

“This place is a must visit! Upon arrival, our host Brandon greeted us with umbrellas to escort us to the tasting room which is absolutely darling! He started up a fire for us and brought us all hot towels infused with calming essential oils. Brandon was very knowledgeable about the land and all of the wines. The wines were phenomenal, we walked away with a few bottles. I am so happy that we were able to visit them. Do yourself a favor and book this place!“

“Staff was prompt and responsive. I ordered the Prime Rib Special. It came out remarkably fast. Medium rare as requested. Unfortunately the baked potato was over done and yet cool. The prime rib was lukewarm. The horseradish sauce was off- I can’t tell why but it had a peculiar flavor that should not have been there. Seasoning of the prime rib was on point and so was the zip sauce. I wasn’t feeling up to potential confrontation so when they asked how the food was I just said good. With prime rib it’s hard because if they warmed it then it might not have come back medium rare…also there was no steak knife but again I didn’t ask“
