“Incredible food and fun interior/ambiance, though cocktails were mediocre. Highlight of our visit to Portland and visited twice in 2 weeks. The food was unbelievably tasty — they really didn’t compromise on Texan barbecue quality with their Thai focus. The white curry with brisket burnt ends was one of the best dishes I’ve had all year. The massaman lamb curry was phenomenal too.The cocktails (Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Life of Luxury) were unfortunately overly sweet and candy-like. I would skip them and just get a cold Singha draft or their alcohol-based slushies instead. We received cold service on our first visit but super friendly and attentive service on the second. We walked in with no wait on a Monday at 4:30pm and waited 1h30 on Saturday evening at a great wine bar across the street.“
“One of my top 5 favorite place to eat in PDX. The sesame noodles are bright, fresh, and chewy. Served chilled and perfect for summer time. The pork is tender and perfectly seasoned.I have a difficult time finding food that's not too spicy (seems a current PDX trend). They balance it perfectly. I'd more or less given up on enjoying that mouth numbing delightfulness of the Sichuan peppercorn without being blasted with the heat of a million chilies. But they've found the sweet spot. Prices on par with other places in the area. Plus you can enjoy the food in their neighboring establishment, Holy Ghost.I highly recommend paring any noodle dish with the 5min Gin Fizz!“
“We stopped here on a short trip to Portland. We ordered the sliced brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage and coleslaw. The brisket was a showstopper. It was tender and really is what you dream brisket tastes like. The sausage was phenomenal and the coleslaw was just fine. The peach mustard BBQ sauce was a surprisingly wonderful addition to the meats. I would buy it by the jarful if I could!“
“Just had the half pound pastrami brisket sandwich available as the Thursday special. Absolutely amazing. Very generous half pound. As tender, juicy and delicious brisket as I have had. I will be making the trip here often and maybe not just on Thursdays.“
“Brian and the crew at MDBBQ delivered outstanding food for our daughter's wedding, in a blizzard in the gorge! Everyone raved about the food, and we had enough leftovers to help feed our guests who got stuck at the hotel for 2 days! Hire them! You won't regret it! We had the smoked chicken, pulled pork, beans, green salad, mac n' cheese, and deviled eggs for 110 guests. PHENOMENAL!!“
“We had the Boston waffle with PB&J, bananas, and whipped cream. It was delicious and the perfect size as a dessert for two people. Fluffy and light, and just filling enough. The covered portion of the patio was cozy on a rainy winter's day, while still giving a fun food cart vibe. Highly recommend.“
“This place was amazing! Not only was the food bomb but the customer service was top tier. We were visiting from out of town and got there early. They let us come in 15 min before opening so we could get out the rain and cold. I’ll definitely be back when in Oregon again.“
“We parked in a nearby lot on SE 11th Ave & SE Madison St ($3/hr) instead of trying to find street parking. It was pouring rain on a Wednesday at 1pm in February and the carts were still open. It wasn't busy at all. There was seating near the fire pit or more seating in the back with heat lamps! We ordered a vegan club from Smaaken Waffle Sandwiches that was very good. It took a while for the order and they didn't give me a buzzer. We also got mac & cheese from Le Bistro Montage Ala Cart. There are 2 bathrooms (no code needed). I was surprised that they were actually pretty clean. Definitely would recommend coming to show friends around.“
“tldr: Crazy good Hawaiian comfort food from a trending food cart Discovering Habu's food cart was a complete spur of the moment: decided to grab lunch at a local food cart congregation and ended up finding one of my favorite local go-to spots for some meat and rice. The picture is pretty self explanatory already but all you gotta know is that the smoked meats are irresistible. Better watch out or you end up eating the loaded plate they serve you. Owner of the food cart is super easy to talk to and you can tell he cares about the food he serves. He wants you to simply have a great time and to leave stuffed and satisfied. Give them a try when you need some quick eats that's heavy enough to save another meal for later.“
“I mean...what can I say that hasn't already been said? Solid food, great service, and located in the Mississippi District! I have been slowly working my way through their menu and have not been disappointed yet. At this point, I doubt I will. Plus, they now serve Boiled Peanuts!!!!!!!!!!!!“
“This is the best BBQ joint that in town. The food is amazing!Their Slaw is hearty, the Mac and Cheese is delicious, and sprinkled with crispy cheese bits.I like the 2 meat platter (Bunt ends, and ribs),It all f'in incredible.Eat here! You wont regret it.I may get the names wrong, But Nick and Jen and pretty awesome people too. Thanks for keeping me well fed.??✌?“
“This place is amazing! Such a good selection and no competing carts. Every one has individual dishes and origins. The outdoor dining is picnic style but also has some cool features like a boat to sit in and we'll fed cats to love on. If I could give them a 6th star for having cats I would. I had a Doner Kebab, kids had grilled cheese and my wife had fish and chips all in one stop and our kids were occupied by the cats. It is the perfect place for a family looking to have a lot of food options but still share a meal. There is also indoor heated seating if the weather is not ideal!“
“it is in the heart of downtown a couple blocks from Powell Books in the beginning of the park block the most important it is clean and it's a good diversity of food cart they even have a double decker bus that serve coffee in the morning and beer and wine in the evening plenty of seating outside looking at the park block.“
“Outside seating was perfect for the 65 degree weather. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the burnt ends deviled eggs, happy hour ribs (a little dry) and the happy hour Mac and cheese bowl. The Mac and cheese bowl was amazing, perfect amount of cheese, not greasy or oily, delicious pulled pork and the crushed chips on top were well suited for the dish. Definitely recommend.Parking: Great location in the heart of town so we walked. Looked like there was plenty of on street parking on the same block if not around the side streetsKid-friendliness: Kids welcome, bar feel and outdoor seating was spacious“
“This is a great community dive bar. It’s clean, the staff are great and the food is tasty (and at a relatively good price). Their pancakes are fluffy and delicious.Vegetarian options: You can request no bacon/meat on a lot of their dishes to make them vegetarian. My wife loves their breakfast burrito and short stack.“
“This is a culinary gem! From the vibrant ambiance to the mouthwatering barbecue, every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. The owner couples were friendly and attentive. So happy for them as their business is growing bigger. Parking was convenient. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean cuisine!“
“I wish we didn’t have to use QR codes to order. I’m trying to get off my phone and one of the main things I do is don’t have it during meal times so I had to go back to my car for my phone just so I could see a menu and order. The food was delicious, the Mac and cheese leaves something to be desired, it’s very bland but the meat is really really good and so is the chili.“
“The eggplant melted in my mouth. I recommend the scallops, oysters, scallions, chicken hearts and cauliflower. I will have to go back to try it all. The flavors were fantastic! Friends live in the neighborhood and they say they have been going once a week.“
“Used them for our work Christmas party food and it was pretty awesome. Pulled pork was great ribs were awesome and some of the best corn bread I've ever had (it was sweet and dense) the hickory bbq was great and the Carolina bbq sauce was pretty dang good, also beans an collared greens were awesome. Overall I'd check there food truck out“
“This is my son's favorite weekly go to. The food is consistent- grilled chicken is delicious, the nac salad is fresh, and you can grab extra sauce for your takeout. Staff is always friendly. The dining room is small and fairly basic. Better if you can sit outside by the "lake".Parking: Parking is a small lot and shared with another restaurant. The office building next-door has a larger parking lot but is fairly full during business hours.“
“Greetings,Finally got to try this place out and it was delicious ?.Got the Pulled Pork Sandwich and fries. The sandwich was excellent and definitely will ask for more BBQ sauce next time. The fries were well seasoned and not greasy. Would definitely get again.Customer service was well done and food came in a timely manner ?.Great job all around!“
“I’m pretty sure that any of these reviews that are bad about this place actually have not even a slight clue about true authentic Hawaiian food.I can assure you that Hawaiian Kine BBQ is EXACTLY the same as anything that you’ll eat on Maui. I know this because I lived there for 10 years. These folks know what they’re doing and the food makes me homesick every time I go there. Trust me if you want a real taste of Hawaii, eat here.Everything about this place is exactly how it is on Maui. Especially the Mac salad. So unless you’re a picky haole, you’ll love this place.“
“Amazing catering experience. Super great Hawaiian cuisine and the delivery & set up(customer service) was exceptional. BTW, the sauces are super good! If your looking to host a party, don’t miss out on what the Local Grind has to offer.“
“This has honestly been a go-to spot for me and my family for a couple months now, and my entire family loves their food. My favorite plate from Aloha Grill would be the Big Elema. It comes with teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken, and with two scoops of rice and 1 scoop of Mac. Sauce recommendation would be their spicy mayo and katsu sauces! Hope you enjoy the food because it's amazing.“
“We absolutely love coming here!! The food is phenomenal and we honestly think it's better than Matt's, staff is friendly, very spacious dining area, and reasonably priced! We don't live super close to Beaverton, but we do go there frequently just for their food!!“
“Nice atmosphere and good food. The main thing for me and why I’m leaving a 5* review is the bartender sunny “not sure if that’s the spelling” was very personable and made me feel very at home/welcome. Great service, nice food and drink. What more can you ask for?“
“Came here as group of us were doing a art walk on Alberta street, was craving for some meaty food, stopped by this spot where there were few other food trucks, mind you Portland is known for food trucks as I discovered, we ordered bbq ribs that came with the potato salad And greens and , chicken wings. Mind you, I have never seen my fiancé finishing potato salad when we've ordered in the past from other place, which he did so there must be something good about this place , he liked the collard greens, meat was cooked well, I just thought it was little too much bbq sauce, meat kinda somewhat seemed like they were swimming in the sauce as I don't really like having that much sauce on the meat but however I liked the meat itself. We were definitely full and satisfied after. I would go back again.“
“I always go to this location bc most of the other Roxy's have been serving the exact same order in containers literally half the size. This location serves me up enough food for 3 or 4 meals for about $12. The bang for your buck is 10/10. Food is great. The Macaroni salad is like crack, I always get an extra serving of it.“
“My husband and I stopped at this food truck pod for a bite to eat after a long day. It was cold out and let me tell you, the warm food hit the spot. The ribs were huge and I got five with my order. They don’t skimp on portions! The plates also come with a sizeable cornbread muffin (or roll if you prefer). All this for only ~$15/person. What I really want to comment on is the customer service, which was top notch—the man running the truck was SO nice! He offered to buy a hot link and drinks for my husband and I. We had to insist on tipping. Please stop buy and grab some delicious food. Support local businesses!“
“awesome food, atmosphere is fun, and the lemonade is pretty great! the tenders are juicy and the sauce is delicious. service is fast for how busy it gets.Parking: you gotta find a spot on the street somewhere near the building which can be pretty hard at mealtimes. if you're taking public transit then you'll have no problem getting there! parking is a challenge, but the food is completely worth it even if you have to walk a block back.“
“Hands down the best bbq in Oregon. Very Southern and traditional bbq. All the meats were smoked perfectly and had a great smoke ring. Sausage was juicy and delicious. Definitely recommend this place. Only suggestion would be for a more mild sweet bbq sauce for kids.“
“It's a pretty chill local bar in the area. The interior is pretty spacious with pool tables, video lottery, and karaoke stage. They have daily specials as well as happy hour specials. We stopped by for a quick drink and a snack while waiting for our other friends.“
“I grew up eating Texas BBQ and I can confirm this place is authentic. It’s one of the only local BBQ places I will eat at, and it’s my top choice. The only thing they could improve on is if they offered fried okra as a side! I recommend the fries as a substitute, but it’s just not the same.“
