There’s an ATM, cash only cigarette machine, and several lottery machines at your disposal.”

The chicken parm itself was decent, but the spaghetti was just okay. It tasted more like boxed noodles and was overcooked, which took away from the overall dish. Overall, a mixed experience: great appetizer, decent main, but the pasta could use improvement.”

We called in an order for a large pepperoni pizza (with onions and mushrooms), an order of mozzarella sticks, an order of onion rings, and the combo steak hoagie (large with no green/bell peppers, add, mayo and lettuce). We were very pleased with our order and the helpful staff. My mother walks with a cane and when she went in to get the order, they walked it out for her. Thank you staff! The food was delicious. The steak hoagie is the best I've had since moving to the area 12 years ago. I've tried a lot of steak hoagies at other places and they were not nearly as good. The meat-to-bun ratio was perfect and it was very filling. The bun wasn't soggy with grease and had great flavor and a nice chew. The onion rings were great. They were not soggy and had great beer batter crunch, the same for the mozzarella sticks. We got a large pizza and it was HUGE. The crust had such good flavor. My only complaint would be that they did not put enough pepperoni on it to sufficiently cover the real estate. They could be a bit more generous with the toppings. Pricing at Dino's is on par with other places in the area. I found I spent the same amount there as I did placing an order to Dominos, the difference being I got a lot more food from Dino's. For what I paid to get a large pepperoni pizza (bigger than anything Dominos serves and better tasting), mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and a really good large steak hoagie, I paid Dominos for a large pepperoni pizza, 2 salads and a brownie. The steak and cheese at Dominos can't even compare to Dino's. I'll be going back to Dino's in the future.”

The Sheetz “clan” is a wonderful family. I had the pleasure of shopping in the first 2 Sheetz “Kwik Shoppers” in Altoona. I know several high school class mates who have retired from Sheetz and enjoyed their time working there. Now, we just got the first Sheetz relatively close by in Michigan. Been there twice so far. “Just had a fantastic little pizza from OIP and wanted to share! I ordered a small pie with extra cheese and extra pepperoni, and it was exactly what I was craving.

The pizza was perfectly cooked – the crust was nice and crisp on the bottom, but still soft and chewy on top. The extra cheese was melted to perfection and gave that wonderful, gooey pull with every bite. And the extra pepperoni? Delicious! There was just the right amount of spice and it was clearly good quality pepperoni, not the cheap stuff.

Honestly, it was the perfect comfort food. It hit the spot after a long day. The service was friendly and the pizza was ready quickly. I'll definitely be ordering from OIP again soon. “THE 2-2-7!

…….Thats what I call the excellent deal they have on 2 dozen wings at Nardo’s Cafe!

So I was in the area at a close by stationary and copy service center when Nardo’s was recommended. So I walked on over. And as I approached the door I saw a sign that said, “Try our lemon pepper wings”.

Right then and there I knew that there was something special about the cooks taste and abilities! And, in hindsight, one would think that lemon pepper wings would be a common offering. But, despite being familiar with traditional lemon pepper chicken, this was actually the first time I ever saw it offered as American Cafe style wings.

So I waked in and placed a lunch order. Though not for the wings that day. And I did strike up a conversation with the chef about the wings.

Instantly it became clear that this cook was passionate about, knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. And, during the course of the discussion, he mentioned a 2 dozen wings for $27 deal.

So I promised to return in the future to place an order. And it was only a few days till I returned to buy the wings.

I decided on the 2 dozen for $27 deal. And this price is on par and somewhat better than most establishments. Especially considering today’s economy. And an economy which, despite the valiant efforts of late, still may take a little more time to recover once the dust settles from the much needed regime change.

Anyhow, I arrived on time so as to get my wings as hot as possible. And one must consider that, if you are not dining in, you really should be punctual about arriving at the exact time scheduled to pick up your food.

And, to those that are thoroughly ignorant of food sciences, know this: Gravity and condensation are factors that affect hot foods placed in modern take out containers.

This means that, if you take your good old time to pick up an order, sauces can travel to the bottom of the foil and pool. And, in addition, water condensation can also accumulate on the upper surface of modern styrofoam take out containers. Thus, after sufficient time, one could conceivably knock loose that condensation to unwittingly dilute sauces that, again, gravitated toward the foil.

….. thats my personal opinion anyway.

But, as I spoke to the cook for the second time, I perceived that he understood well the genre of the American Cafe, the ins & outs of the business and that, at times, you simply cannot please all of the people all of the time.

But, as for me, I was very pleased with the wings. I got the lemon pepper wings and their hottest offering…..the “Pray for rain”.

Both of these are excellent in flavor and texture. But don’t take my word for it. Go to Nardo’s Cafe and, no pun intended, Judge for Yourself!”

“The young men working today were super nice to me and others. The one guy helped some ladies that were having trouble navigating (one had a walker and the other had a cane). So thoughtful of him to make it easier on them. I always enjoy eating there when I'm in Altoona. God bless these young men!!!”

“I messed my own order up lol I accidentally clicked Ceaser salad instead of Blackened shrimp salad. I didn't realize I messed up my own order until I got the food and was like omg I got the wrong thing. It wasn't until AFTER I submitted the feedback to the restaurant. I went and checked my confirmation order and I totally did accidentally order the chicken Ceasar. However, the chicken Ceasar was AWESOME and I was totally not disappointed.”

“Sometimes when I need a break from the home office I come here. I’m a fan of the Starbucks ambiance, and with it being quiet it’s a great place to work for a bit. The little food items aren’t bad, and neither are the drinks. I’ve rarely had a bad encounter with the staff. All in all a good experience.”
