“If you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️“

“Steph and the team at scratch were SUPERB! Our catering order was perfect (tho we were sad the croissant machine was down) every thing was piping hot (or nice an cool). Everything was SOOO good. Ordering was easy, Steph ensured we had a great variety and enough to feed the post-wedding crowd. We did have breakfast here and it was stellar! “We had a great birthday experience aboard the train & plan on returning many times. We chose The Spruce Car, (as opposed to the murder mystery) which is aptly named, as it's filled with rich, warm woods. The cozy lighting & up-scale, but not pretentious, decor created the perfect ambiance for a romantic birthday. Dinner service was nothing short of wonderful. Our server, Maddie, was friendly, beautiful, and attentive. Both of our dinners were delicious and the cocktails were perfect. More locals should enjoy the Bellevue Grand. It's worth every penny.“

“My go-to order in most places would be a Reuben. The quality of the meat, bread and the balance with the sauerkraut, sauce & cheese say a lot about how the restaurant approaches their food. The 02878 is the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I will have to find another go-to for other restaurants because they will pale in comparison to Localz 02878.“

“I decided to treat myself and come on a little solo vacation. This is such an accommodating warm spot. Evan and the whole staff treated me with such kindness as I was dining by myself in the busy summer season the mussels were amazing ! The lobster bisque is not to be missed and the local Winery three thieves was delicious. I recommend this place highly !“

“We’ve had a couple meals at the Helmway and they were delicious! The calamari is crispy and done just right, the harvest salad is excellent! The scallops were done to perfection…sweet and tender. The lobster risotto is excellent too! We had the cinnamon toast bread pudding…just wow!! The wine selection is just right! We’ll definitely go back and highly recommend the Helmway!! Gas Lamp Grille truly stands out in this regard, making it easy to enjoy a great meal even later in the evening. We’ve visited multiple times and consistently have a great experience. Seating is always quick, and the service is prompt, friendly, and attentive. The lobster rolls—both chilled and hot—are excellent every time. We also appreciate the option to choose between traditional fries, sweet potato fries, or a salad, allowing for a bit of flexibility while still enjoying a favorite dish. Whether the restaurant is busy during a UConn game or more relaxed on a quieter evening, the staff remains efficient and welcoming. It has become one of our go-to spots whenever we’re in Newport.“

Her attention to detail was impressive, from promptly changing out silverware between courses to keeping our drinks filled without us ever needing to ask. The food was outstanding! The carpaccio was the best we’ve had, and the gluten-free s’mores dessert was absolutely delicious—a perfect ending to the meal. The food, the scratch made fettuccine was perfectly cooked and coated with the hearty bolognese full of flavor, the eggplant app was mouthwatering and the Gorgonzola dip w/ garlic bread was incredible- they should bottle the stuff! “Absolutely great food and service. Dined last Saturday evening with two of our teen and preteen grandchildren. All of us enjoyed our meals and the service was on point. This next point deserves mentioning as it speaks to the culture of the establishment: When my granddaughter became ill (NOT food related), the manager came over immediately to help comfort her… she brought hot tea and took her to more private quarters to relax until her discomfort passed. We were impressed and remain grateful for the compassion and level of care exhibited. We will continue to visit again and again in the future. Many thanks!!!“

“We had reservations in the back room (the old formal dining room). Sat next to window - but cold air coming thru the window made things terribly uncomfortable - had to put on our Canada goose coats to stay warm. We requested a move to the front tavern room - which we were graciously accommodated. Service and food in the tavern was excellent. We've been going to the BP for more than forty years - one of our favors in Newport. We especially like the ambience of the tavern room. Mussels and chowder are the best. But please forego the back room in winter - unless you like attic weather.“

She was incredible from start to finish. She was detail-oriented, and so easy to work with. Abby made sure everything ran smoothly the entire day and handled all the little things before we even had a chance to notice them.
