“Had an amazing experience. The Whipped Ricotta app was light and delicious, and the Shaved Steak Sandwich was exactly what I was looking for. “This is my second time at Cork & Rye, and they did not disappoint! The strawberry sangria was tasty and refreshing, and the jerk chicken was seasoned well and cooked just right. The portions were satisfying and I was able to bring home leftovers. I also appreciated how accommodating they were, especially since they were able to accommodate our party of 8 outside with little notice. “This was my first time eating here. Let me start off by saying I had the best scrod I have ever ordered in a restaurant. When the waitress came to take our order I decided on a grilled chicken sandwich. I did not want the fries so I asked to sub a side salad (which I normally do at any place where I order a sandwich, usually a up charge) she said we don't do that but you can have a potato and vegetable. Who would want that with a sandwich! I declined and ordered the scrod. She then asked what kind of soup I wanted (apparently comes with the meal) or you can have a salad. I can sub a salad instead of soup but not for the fries. ODD! The bill comes and I was charged for a side salad. This waitress never said there was a upcharge, which i found odd. I would have paid it anyway. To bad they don't offer something healthier than fries with their sandwiches. This would not be a place I would rush back to.“

“Delicious food and genuinely great service! I ordered two Walt Jrs., and both were incredibly tender—melt-in-your-mouth good. I also got fries that looked fresh and delicious, but honestly, the sandwiches were so good that I completely forgot I had fries and never even touched them.

The service was just as impressive. The cashier greeted me as soon as I walked in and was quick and friendly taking my order. I could see the kitchen staff start making it almost immediately. There were two or three people working in the kitchen and, since there weren’t other orders at the time, they all jumped in together to get mine completed. That may seem like a small thing, but as someone who works in food service, I notice it. It shows good training and a team that is paying attention to the guest in front of them.

I do want to mention one issue, mainly because I hope it reaches whoever is responsible for the building itself. There was a very strong and unpleasant smell inside the restaurant. I normally use the drive-thru, so this was my first time actually going inside, and the odor was strong enough that I noticed it immediately.

I saw another review mention a sewer-like smell, but that wasn’t what it smelled like to me. I honestly couldn’t identify it—it reminded me more of damp or deteriorating wood/building materials than anything coming from the restaurant itself. I even looked around before ordering because the smell initially made me concerned about cleanliness, but the restaurant, kitchen area, and equipment that I could see all appeared clean and well maintained.

That’s why I don’t think it’s fair to hold the Walt’s staff responsible for it. I’ve worked in businesses where the tenant had building or property issues that were ultimately the landlord/property owner’s responsibility, and this struck me as something along those lines. I’m mentioning it because the odor is strong enough that I think it deserves attention and could definitely affect a customer’s first impression of the restaurant.

Most importantly, I’m glad I stayed and ordered. The food was excellent, the staff was great, and I had absolutely no issues with my meal afterward. In fact, I’m planning to go back today—I’ll just be using the drive-thru this time!

Five stars for the food and the team. I just hope someone can figure out what’s causing the smell inside, because the staff and the food deserve an environment that matches the quality of the experience they’re providing.“
