“Since its opening, The Local Goat has been the go-to overnight stop on our I-75 North/South trek. Initially this was because the restaurant was next to our hotel, but now we stop because of the great food. Today, I want to give a loud SHOUT OUT to our waitress, Skylar. “Stopped for lunch. Our waiter was Curtis. He was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. He’s an asset to your location. Food was good but not excellent. Both of us got tacos - grilled fish, and steak. The steak tacos were full of flavor but way over-garnished to the point that that sauce was overpowering. They were drenched - ended up eating them with a fork and removing lots of the sauce, etc. Fries and tots were good.“

“First time back to J Alexander's in a long time for no reason. A good experience with attentive service. The seared tuna was excellent and the prime rib was tasty. “We love this restuarant and it’s our go-to place for every milestone moments but this review is about a bad experience we had today with our lunch order. We ordered a take out for my husband’s birthday and when we came back home we found one entree is missing. On calling back the restaurant , we explained in details what’s missing and requested them to keep the item ready as we wanted to eat together as a family before everything becomes cold. However when my husband reached the restaurant he was told that they didn’t believe us and then the server went to talk to the chef. After that she was convinced that the issue was on their side and took another 20 mins to give the food. This is outrageous and honestly feels borderline racist. She could’ve checked with the chef before we went back. We love this restaurant but this has left a very bad impression on us“

The waitress’ kept on top of our drinks and still stayed on top of the other tables! That place has come along way and seems to be thriving! “I ordered out meals to eat her and some to go . The meal was cooked and bagged and put under a heated area , then our food arrived at our table . Very good food for there . Then we ordered some dessert to go which seemed to irritate the waitress . When I ordered my meal , I asked for half and half tea . I got unsweetened tea , so I asked for a empty glass and a glass of sweet tea and made my own , that also seemed to irritate her . Not sure what's going on over there , but I will not be back . I go there 2 or 3 times a year when in town . This time no way . The to go order was dropped off 20 minutes later , Dried out . Common sense cook the to go order a little later NOT AT THE SAME TIME ! 😡“

“I stopped by at the Chattanooga Market today and had the Philly cheesesteak fries based on Chef Chasity’s recommendation. I am always nervous to order cheesesteak, French dips, etc. because I really do not like fatty meat and so many places do not take the time to scrap that part. I know some people like it that way, but not me. The Philly Cheesesteak fries were delicious! I almost chose the chicken & bacon fries. So glad I didn’t!! Will definitely be visiting Eastgate Mall to try more of the menu. Hoping she can change my mind about seafood in Chattanooga, as I am quite picky about that as well!“

“I’m a very picky eater and when a friend suggested my husband and I eat at Haven’s with him we agreed. My husband had meatloaf, okra, cabbage with a corn muffin and I had the fried chicken wings, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas with a corn muffin. Every single thing we ate was the best we have ever tasted!! I couldn’t believe it. Our friend ordered the pork chops and could only eat one so my husband got to eat the other one. Seriously, it was hard to leave there with out ordering two or three meals to go. Since we live in Cleveland Haven's will see us at LEAST once a week. “No wait for seating. Wasnt busy at all. Server was very nice. Server had to return and verify sides. When meal arrived hamburger steak was over cooked, dry, crunchy outer edges. Pintos were cool and was missing cornbread. The biscuits, I did not order were gooey and white on top. The cornbread the server went back for , “there will be await for corn bread” , were so crumbly when picked up to butter , it fell into pieces. All my server could do was apologize. This was not on the server, THE KITCHEN was the fail.“

“My family has been coming here for decades and I went to school and church with several Ankars at OLPH and NDHS. I went to the Brainerd location today (my favorite). Unfortunately today’s experience was not great (but there’s no way I’m giving an “I do not recommend”). We ordered 3 hoagies. The bread usually comes out warm and soft (and we usually buy a bag to take back to Oklahoma with us). Today’s bread was not warm, chewy, and a bit tough. The onion rings were cooked unevenly with one basket being very light in color and the other 2 being much darker. Idk how many Ankars work at this location, but I did not see anyone. I hope the legacy is not coming to a close. I still wanted to get a t-shirt before leaving. The girl at the counter was confused by my request and got someone else who had to get a 3rd person to locate the shirts. The size he brought out was M and I wanted L. Had to wait while he checked and there were no Ls. This took about 7 minutes from start to finish. No apologies or offers to order one. I’ll be back to Ankar’s next time I’m in town. Just not this location. I hope that things improve there. Ankar’s was a gem not too long ago and it would be a shame to lose this Chattanooga landmark.“

“We’ve eaten at Drakes, Chattanooga, since it’s opening and never been disappointed until today when a customer brought a dog inside to the inside “patio” seated at the table next to us. The dog was hyper and the man kept scratching it. Next a female joined him and began scratching the dog. The waiter reached down and also scratched the dog. Next time the waiter came by, the dog jumped up on her and again she scratched the dog. We asked to move inside to an empty booth. After we moved the man brought in another dog. Why were dogs allowed in the restaurant? They were NOT service dogs.“

Aubrey’s restaurants is a popular East Tennessee chain that was founded in 1992 by a University of Tennessee graduate in West Knoxville. It started as a single neighborhood restaurant and has grown steadily. According to its website, and certainly from what I saw, it seems to focus on fresh, comforting American food and friendly service. Today there are about 14 locations across East Tennessee. We visited the Hixson location for a large family gathering. There is plenty of parking available, which made it easy for our group. It is a stand-alone brick building. The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. There are a lot of seating options for different size parties and both inside and out. The staff was pleasant and our waitress was awesome. She handled our large party very well and was very attentive. They also did a wonderful job accommodating our mobility-impaired family members. I got a burger and fries along with an iced tea. The food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. Everything about the meal was good. Overall it was a great experience for our family gathering. I definitely recommend Aubrey’s in Hixson to other travelers or families in the Chattanooga area looking for good food and friendly service.“
