“We walked in to pick up a to go order and were warmly greeted. The server was kind to share some of the restaurant history and asked for a review, which as business owners, we like to oblige and want to help other businesses. He threw in a mango lassi with our order, which was not expected and SO delicious. All of our food was AMAZING and enough to have for lunch the next day. We ordered garlic naan, Gobi 65, Malabar with beef and veggies, chicken and lamb biryani.“

“Love sportsbook! Come here often to watch the World Cup games, the fights and even to just have a couple of drinks and chill. Love that they play the music during breaks/ halftimes for the games. And they also host different events like love Island, WWE, and drag shows. Food is really good also. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like and never have to wait forever for my order to come out. Highly recommend the wings, nachos and loaded fries. Ask for Esme to be your waiter. She’s quick and always makes sure you’re good the whole time. Love that they also have a big outside patio and plenty of places to sit and accommodate big groups. Definitely a place to check out!!“

With that being said...LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The location is fabulous. Perfectly centered before the hype and traffic of downtown.

Massive FRONT patio which has a great street view.

Food: wings are humongous and fries are homemade and seasoned amazingly. Fish and chips are battered a whole different way that Will give you life.

Our bartender, Courtney, was a gem. She poured us up some amazing drinks that I wouldn't expect to have at a tavern.

“One of the BEST Karaoke experiences I have ever had as the Karaoke Cowboy. The DJ / KJ is AWESOME. Didn't catch his name. The KJ sings better than Steve Perry AND is an extremely accommodating and gracious host, humble guy (no ego like other KJs I have run into with colossal egos, especially if they can sing). His board mixing is PERFECT. I sang Send Her My Love for the first time and it sounded great, and I turned in my best performance ever of Still Loving You (Scorpions). He recognizes and honors the talent and ability of other singers despite his own amazing voice is jaw dropping. Like I said: no ego problems. Do you know how rare that is? I wish I could go there every Karaoke night but I live 4 to 5 hours away near San Antonio. Put your tips in this guys tip jar - he deserves it!“

“Simple sports bar with good food and the price is unmatched for Downtown Dallas average cost. A hidden gem. Staff are entertaining & not uptight. Only issue would be the occasional homeless person walking in with an attitude or moody behaviors.“

“We just had the most wonderful experience at Hillside Tavern. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was chill enough that we were able to bring our 11-year-old niece to eat with us. The service was top notch. Chad and his team are doing an incredible job and we’ll be back very soon to try out the rest of that awesome menu!“

“My husband and I along with our daughter and son in law went to dinner here last night. The service was excellent. The one thing I would have to say that is a negative for this place it's that they ask you if you have allergies but they were not equipped for the allergy that was given. My husband is allergic to shellfish so they had to come out twice to tell him the shrimp is cooked in the same fryer as the chips and chicken and the batter used for the chicken is also the same used on the shrimp as well so if you have shellfish allergies be careful coming here. I think this is a first restaurant we have been too that does not use separate fryers. With that being said my husband was limited to what he could eat and we did not see something of a warning on menu or online. This was also our first time here. I ordered the Chimichurri Steak Frites which was good but the steak did have a fishy taste at first which they might also cook the fish and steak on same place. Other than that the atmosphere was good service was good and food was good that's why I rated it a 4 star. If we go back it might be just for drinks“

“The lady that made my drink let me try the Liquid Marijuana and it was amazing. I don't even drink alcohol like that and I could barely taste the vodka in it and my wife had a Margarita/hypnotic mix that was pretty nice and I told the server that I was going home to blow my wife's back out too and that's exactly what I did too ???. Bring your own liquor bottle as they only serve beer and set ups. Need about 1 or 2 more restrooms. Front patio. Clientele is more of the blue collar type of people. Not to bad of a place. Hardly ever any drama there since the crowd is mostly 35 and up.“

“This place has a great environment. Always drama free. The owners Mrs Kathy & Mr Carl always treat everyone with so much love & respect. Great music, Pool Tables, dominos etc. If you're looking for a great old school vibe this is the spot for you.“

“Elle has become one of my favorite casual spots in Dallas. My go to order is the caviar nuggets which are surprisingly affordable compared to other places around the city that serve caviar. It feels a little indulgent without being ridiculous on price.

The lemon drop martini is also excellent. Bright, balanced, and very easy to drink.

I usually end up there on Tuesdays for industry night which always has a great crowd. The vibe is relaxed and social and it feels like a place where people in the hospitality world actually hang out after work.

They also have a private room with karaoke that is available any night of the week which makes it a fun option for groups.

Overall it is just a great neighborhood spot and a place that really feels connected to the local community.“

“I had the privilege of living 2 blocks from the Loon over the last 3 years. It is a special place in the neighborhood that has great food, strong drinks, and top tier service - especially if you are blessed with having Asha as your server!!
Linda & Tim (the owners) truly care about the bar and making it a welcoming establishment in the community. I had the chance to work with them on planning my wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the bar - the Loon hosted one of the best nights of my life!

“This is the former Gomonae restaurant - it's a small family run Korean restaurant with delicious soups and banchans. Gomonae moved out of their smaller location in the same strip mall to this spot which is larger and has a liquor license. Same delicious food. Yukgejang is very nice. No more fried chicken though. Service is so friendly too. Loved the purple rice. They are open in the morning until maybe 7 or 8pm I believe - not quite sure about dinner hours so double check.“
