“I genuinely could not have had a better experience at Citizens. The service was amazing. The staff were all so attentive and nice. My server Kent was very helpful and kind. I ordered the espresso martini, brussel sprouts, the chicken parm, and the tiramisu. Everything was amazing. I don't usually love brussel sprouts, but these were a perfect balance with the slight sweetness and crunch that came from the pistachios and bacon. The vodka parm was 10/10. Even the arugla salad was good, but the chicken fries really stole the show. The tiramisu was very light and creamy, with a slight taste of the lemon in the cream. All-in-all it was an amazing experience one of the best meals I've had in a while. I will definitely be dining here again and recommending it to people.“

“This place is hands down one of the best halal spots I’ve been to. The food was fresh, flavorful, and you can tell everything is made with care. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, and the portions were really generous for the price.

The atmosphere was welcoming and clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They made the whole experience even better and made sure everything came out quickly and exactly how we ordered it.

“We came to pick up Gluten Free bread for my daughter who needs to now be GF. We also prefer eating GF when possible. We had the rotisserie chicken sandwich with house made pickles and a cup of bone broth. BOTH were excellent! They also said they were seed oil free which is a game changer for us. We do NOT eat seed oils as much as possible. The bread has been fantastic also. Its a little pricey but i feel worth it for the quality you get.“

“Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. She handled our mid-sized group well after a long day at the Zoo, answered our questions, and offered solid suggestions.

The Chicken Fried Steak, Blue Cheese Bacon Burger, and Cobb Salad were all generously portioned and looked great. I had minor personal gripes. The hotdog came without condiments and the pesto in the Pesto Chicken Salad was a bit heavy-handed, but that is more personal preference than a knock on the kitchen.

All in all it was an enjoyable break between the Zoo and the Museum of Natural Science.“

“Great coffee. I got their seasonal “Kiss me from a Rose” latte w/ oatmilk. It has house made cardamom rose syrup it it, and was not overly sweet and pretty balanced floral to spice flavor. Wasn’t spicy, and tasted milky sweet and savory.

Very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Fast WiFi so great spot to WFH and/or do some school work. Can get a bit chilly sometimes so bring a jacket.

They had light jazz & piano music playing in the background, which add to the ambiance of the place making it comfortable and inviting.

Super friendly staff and great customer service. It was my first time and the staff member was very knowledgeable in helping me choose a drink based of the flavor profile I usually enjoy.

They have a small free parking lot in front of the cafe. Come early if planning on going during rush hour. Parking looks like it can get a bit tricky if you come on weekend, but for a weekday afternoon it wasn’t bad.

“Just adopted our Lauren from here. The concept is really cool. You get to hang out with the cats while giving them treats and drinking coffee. You then get to take the cat you’re interested in home to see if they are a good fit. Cats are very well socialized with people due to the nature of this business and the establishment is very clean. A tip for anyone new who is visiting for the first time. There are 2 sections. One for the more active and playful cats and the other for the more introverted cats. Don’t be afraid to ask to see the other cats. Love this place and I highly recommend them if you are looking to adopt.“

With the late-Feb Houston weather being chefs-kiss lately - knock on wood - I’d love to come back on a Saturday to enjoy their countryard area.

And the best part… inside they have 10 glorious BOOTHS! I’ll never shut up about booths. They’re so cozy and comfortable.“
