“Came here to study, bartender’s name was Jack and they were super sweet!! The vibe here is good, plenty of outlets and space to sit. They run specials (outside of a happy hour) on certain drinks of the day which is neat. The coffee bar on the bottom closes at 5pm and then the cocktail bar up top opens at 5:30. The sours were on point, will be back!“

“I love this cocktail bar! It has such a great vibe, and the drinks are consistently excellent. Even when it’s busy, the bartenders have it completely under control — they make sure you get a menu right away and never leave you hanging.

The cocktail menu (I believe) has a mix of permanent drinks and seasonal drinks that get swapped out, and honestly, nothing disappoints. My favorites are the sherbet-style cocktail and the Gin Fizz with nutmeg — both are fantastic.

The atmosphere is brilliant, and I love that you see all age groups enjoying the space. If you can get a table with service, even better. Highly recommend — love, love this place!“

“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. “I walked in and asked someone nearby for a menu .He said menus are online rudely and walked off . I stood up there for a few minutes no one came back up to greet me or take my order . As soon as some Caucasian people walk in a man came out back greeted them & seated them all while I was just standing there . I just left respectfully . I was shocked that this place of business only caters to certain races not the African Americans and I normally dine in at the Mexican Restaraunt but I seen that a new spot opened up and I wanted to support . My family has been̈ treated very nice at the Mexican restataunt in the same shopping center everytime we go Customer Service is superb . This Educated African American will happily spend her black dollars where it is appreciated .You all need to take notes on welcoming everyone to your place of business regardless of color .“

“Houston Location: We arrived at our reservation and waited 10 minutes for the hostess. Once seated, we were uninstructed on how to order. Sushi chefs explained the process. Our waiter arrived 10 minutes after, taking our drink order. The app arrived before the waters, followed by the drinks after we ordered and received the sushi. The manager noticed us looking for our waiter but was often in the corner on his phone or socializing with the hostess. The sushi chefs were also on their phones while making the sushi, which was unhealthy. Despite the germy seasoning, the food was amazing.“

The best I have ever had (better than Delia’s IYKYK). The churros…OMG they are perfection. The melted high cocoa chocolate was on point! And THANK YOU for making them soft! So tired of overly fried. Empanadas are a must and the edamame was splendid (I had to order 2 because my son ate my entire plate of them). Lovely energy, sweet and attentive staff. Priced right! It is a MUST stop!
