Brisket, tastes amazing. For sides we got mustard potato salad, VERY good and I’m picky with my potato salad. Mac and cheese, reminds me of the Velveeta cheese shells, good creamy cheese sauce. And the charro beans, good smoky flavor with a nice spicy kick at the end. Love this place! And their bbq sauce is really good with a little spice to it, not real spicy.“

“Me and a friend flew in from Chicago and went straight to Truth from the airport with our luggage. The entire staff was friendly and the food was great. Special shootout to our bartender Jah. We had several different cocktails and they all were amazing. Freddy courteous in making sure we had everything we need and Melissa made sure I left with banana pudding after the first batch sold out.“

“This is my 2nd time coming here and Tim was our server. His service is like you’re being treated by family. He gave us the newest updates to the menu since we last visited and it was all delicious 🤤 My favorites of the night were the mussels and the foie grois. Ask for extra bread because you’re going to slurp that mussel broth right up.“

My son, wife and myself went for lunch on Sunday, August 25, 2024 and we were more than pleased! Kudos to John and Veronica on this wonderful, off-the-beaten path, neighborhood BBQ / General store. “Amazing food, lots of options and good atmosphere. The service was great! Andrew Stuck out as he was so kind and checked up on us often. As we kept ordering he recommended the bulgogi and it was really good paired with pickled radish, Thank you Andrew!“

“It’s located inside a gas station. Would love to see this as a separate location at some point. The gentleman that assisted me was high energy and gave me samples. Food was awesome.

I got the three meat plate with the sausage, ribs and steak. Sausage tastes more like a German sausage not like your typical bbq sausage. It had very good flavor. The steak was well seasoned and the ribs were my favorite. They didn’t have brisket today so I’ll have to come back and try that. I had Mac and cheese and collared greens for the sides. They gave me samples of all of the side and they were very good!

The portions on the three meat plate was huge. They didn’t not skimp out. Easily could have shared with another person maybe even a small family.

“Hey! Prob the best bbq I’ve tasted in Houston. Brisket was seasoned well and moist and tender. Ribs were a little sweet for me but seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The restaurant was an adventure to get too and found out that it wasn’t the original place. It’s this good at the second store!?!?“

“I got one of their specials with two different kababs (Jujeh and Koobideh) with their salad (instead of rice). The meat was terrific and that's worth five stars. But the salad was very disappointing: most of was shredded iceberg (cheap & tasteless) lettuce with a couple of small slices of tomato and a couple of even smaller slices of carrots. That was it. I've had much better salads at other Persian restaurants, or really any other restaurant for that matter. So, I'll take off one star because the side item was so disappointing.“

Pretty much self-serve for drinks and to go containers. You place your order, find a place to sitnand talk, then come back to pick your order up. The rest is up to you! There is a waitress who comes up to check on you. She was very nice and courteous by asking if we needed her to remove items from the table. The atmosphere was relaxed at lunchtime, but I can see this as a date night destination.
Over all experience was great. Do recommend and it's on our list for repeats.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly. They may have to move some chairs out of the way, but no stairs to maneuver.“

“Ordered it via Uber Eats and this restaurant DELIVERED!! They wings were perfectly fried and well seasoned. The two-meat plate with ribs, fried-porkchop, potatoe salad and beans was good. Meat fell off bones. The homemade cheese burger was great! The patty was well seasoned, and burger taste just like grandmother used to make. The star of the show was the SAUSAGE!!! 10 OUT OF 10, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!“

“I was gifted a 22” Old Smokey last year. I am very impressed with it. All of my other grills and smokers get very little use now. It is super easy to use and has yet to disappoint me. I’ve even used it in competition and won 1st place and people’s choice awards. I highly recommend Old Smokey. Do not underestimate this grill.“

From the host to second waiter (because the first waiter kinda lacked hospitality) to the people in the back refilling food did a great job. The different meat options were delicious for the bbq and hot pot had many different options to add to your pot. Buffet style where you grab your food. Yummy coffee cake, sweet fruits and ice cream. Cute little vending machine with plushies. The host even made my daughter’s time there very pleasant. I appreciate her for that! Thanks to everyone for the great experience and service.“
