“The best food in town. We were there with our team and we ordered almost everything from the menu and loved everything we ate. Their speciality is more about beef, pork and fish and they are perfect at it . Their menu keeps changing and chicken options are not available . Servers were gentle, kind and helped in choosing. I highly recommend this place.“

“Absolutely stunning experience at J Carver this week. Was greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne while waiting for our table to be ready. The drinks and wine were served well and the wine was correct temp. Had the bone marrow with toast app, very rich but well seasoned and cooked. Dinner we shared the bone in filet, which was one of best steaks I've had in the country. Recommend greatly.“

“Getting on the online waitlist saved our party of five tons of time. Food and service were excellent. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of fruit. The "biscuit" was more like toast, but that didn't hinder the flavor!“

“Food & atmosphere were so great - I love the dog polaroid wall, even before trying the food I could tell right away that this was my kind of establishment.Madi served us and she was AMAZING, she was such a sweet person and made our whole experience so fun. Whoever is in charge over there, make sure to give your girl Madi some praise because that is a 5 Star team member right there.“

“The line out door at 10 was a good sign. We were lucky we got seated right away at the bar. But recommend getting there early so you don't wait too long. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. The food was unique and tasted delicious. Highly recommend this location !!“

“Mind blown. Dining at Hestia is an experience. A well orchestrated dance in fine dining. The service is unmatched. It's flawless in my book. No detail is overlooked. You are treated to a service team. A team that knows how to make you feel like you are the only people in the restaurant. It's genius and very commendable. The food. Oh the food! Every bite that we had was savored, was thought about. The crab tarts are a one bite wonder, the charred broccoli had your palate dancing about, the scallops...oh the scallops! I have no words to do that dish justice. If you go, it's a MUST. The pork chop changed my life once and it did it again. It's phenomenal. I had the bunelo for dessert. A delicate, intricately crafted masterpiece. A treasure trove of flavors. A new discovery with every bite. I described it to or server as ‘ confusing in the best way possible'. Cheers to the staff at Hestia! You know how to do it right“

“Saw this place walking by while day drinking on SoCo. We spotted the bar and went in. Our bartender Sydney was incredible. She made us very good drinks and was amazing company. She was working harder than anyone I’ve seen making all drinks in the bar. Without Sydney our experience would have been diminished.“

“Salty Sow sets a warm, lively scene with its classic soundtrack, featuring artists like Michael Jackson and Journey. The place perfectly combines comfort with a bit of nostalgia. The meal started strong with the dirty fries, a standout dish. The combination of crispy fries, rich gravy, and creamy cheese sauce made for a fantastic appetizer (as showcased in the photo I took). While the beef shoulder and chicken thighs were delicious, the dirty fries were the true highlight, leaving a lasting impression. The service was excellent -- attentive without being intrusive. However, there was a minor issue with gnats and flies buzzing around, which was a slight distraction from the otherwise cozy atmosphere. Overall, Salty Sow delivers a delightful dining experience with great food and a friendly vibe, making it well worth a visit, especially for those fries.“

“4/1/24We dined at around 7:30 P.M., and we enjoyed some very interesting food! Our waiter was very nice and informative. We got a bit intrigued by the salmon egg mayonnaise appetizer, so we ordered it. Although it was 'interesting' to see and try...we had no idea that it was prepared with salmon eggs on top of the devil egged concoction. The burst of salmon egg with the somewhat boiled egg...was not a favorable appetizer. We would NEVER suggest it. 1/10 (the one rating comes from the good mayo)The fish meal on the menu was REALLY GOOD! The buttery sauce that is generously given on the plate the pan-seared fish was placed on top of really made this meal exceptional. The preparation of it was great. I wish there were more food on the plate, though (or that a good bread accompanied it). 10/10 RATING!My dinner friend ordered the pork chops with the cabbage slice. I would rate that pretty low, though. The cabbage slice was grilled, and some of it was grilled too much to enjoy. You MUST TRY THE BEET SALAD!!!! IT IS SOOOO DELICIOUS!!! 10/10 RATING!!The cheese board for a dessert was great, too... The cheese selected and the jelly was delectable. The tea that is used tastes really good. The ART WORK in the restaurant is pretty and joyful to see! Our waiter allowed us to look at the book that was prepared on each artist that has art exhibited in the restaurant. You would enjoy reading about them IF you have the time.“

“Definitely get the double patty. The burgers aren’t huge but the price is fair. The fries are just okay and remind me of Jack in the box curly fries. The burger was cohesive with tender buns and true premium beef quality. They definitely create burgers for repeat customers. The Mexican vanilla shake tasted like horchata. This is a good thing.“

“I had dinner here 2 days ago, and the food was great! I especially want to commend the hostess that was working Tuesday evening. I did not get her name, but she is an African-American young lady. This hostess is very professional, hospitable, and accommodating. She is truly an asset to your establishment, and I hope that she gets the recognition she deserves for the outstanding hospitality that she provides to your patrons. Thank you!“

“Perfectly prepared Seafood, comfortable but elegant ambiance, and a great location. A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense. The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. No street parking $15 for first 3 hours of valet.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible throughout“

“We were blown away by this place! Service was outstanding, but the food was next level. We ordered the salad, shishito peppers and nuts for an appetizer and then came the smash burgers. Everything was so good! We finished our meal with the best carrot cake any of us have ever had. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!“

“We were debating leaving the hotel for dinner. I'm so glad we didn't because the food here is amazing. I'm so thankful they were gracious enough to accommodate us arriving near closing time. As a whiskey gal, the Summertime Old Fashioned was made very well. I loved the Blue Crab & Artichoke Dip. Very flavorful. The Chile-Glazed Organic Chicken was delicious. I'd love to know how they perfected the crisp. ? And the Gulf Shrimp and Grits was very tasty. I loved their spin on it with the charred corn and it was very rich. I'll definitely be back!“

“I am still having dreams about our incredible dinner at Olamaie! We enjoyed our meal at the bar and received the most exceptional service from their team. We followed all their recommendations for their favorite dishes and each one was such a well-crafted and gorgeous presentation of Southern farm to table. It almost feels like you're having a dinner party in someone's beautiful home because the ambiance is so warm, welcoming, and cozy. “Some of the best Pulled pork I’ve had in the city. Brisket was juicy! The Beef Rib was insane. I also really enjoyed the Shells and Cheese along with the chipotle slaw. My Cuba libre while waiting in line was excellent, and it was very appreciated since it’s not a common drink at most places here. Traditional bbq sauce is not my favorite but I feel in love with that red liquid sauce.“

“We went to this restaurant as a recommendation. We are so happy we did! The food was Spectacular in the atmosphere divine! We ordered great drinks from the cocktail menu, and started with the pork belly hour devours with the violet mustard. They were phenomenal! My husbands entree, the Peking duck with a celery root puree was so rich and succulent, but my entree was MY favorite; the Halibut! It was seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious! Jeffrey’s had exceptional staff and a really cool atmosphere. We cannot wait to go back for date night!“

“Came here to say with colleagues to celebrate a birthday while on a work trip. Incredible service from all the staff but in particular our waiter. Great recommendations on menu items and wine pairings. Be prepared that they ask you order all food at once and then they close it out for you. The wood fired flavor on the food from their special oven was extra noticeable and added to the ambiance. 10/10 recommend if in downtown Austin.“

“We absolutely enjoyed our brunch at June's! We were lucky enough to have been able to get a table outside because the inside tables were all reserved. We were immediately seated when we got there and we were attended to right away. We started our meal with the croquets that sat on aioli sauce. They were delicious! Our main entrees consisted of the appetizing board which had a bagel with caramelized onions, smoked salmon, wasabi cream cheese, watercress and capers. The other was the Croque Madam which was an omelette filled with ham, Gruyère and a side of mixed greens with lemon vinaigrette dressing. We pretty much polished our meal. This is a place I'd highly recommend based on our experience.“

“Mum's is up there with my favorite pastrami sandwiches that I have had. This spot isn't Katz Deli, but it'll satisfy your craving for a good sandwich. I actually enjoyed that you take a little trek to get to this spot because the longer drive is worth it. The service here is excellent, and the spot offers that deli-like ambiance. I have a feeling other BBQ items would also be great here, especially given the wonderful smell of meat you get while at the spot. I don't know what it was, but on the day I was there, I saw a lot of people on dates... who knows, maybe it's also a good date spot“

“I was on my way out of Austin when I had just the right amount of time to indulge on a breakfast. Boy was my belly happy to leave Texas with this as my last meal. I ordered the fried chicken with the biscuit and the biscuit was so perfectly done. The chicken crispy (and felt like more skin than meat but as a whole it was still good) and although it didn't come with it, I dipped mine in the hot sauce that the empeñada came with and it was delicious. The empeñada was yummy and the deep fried hash brown muffin concoction is pretty epic. Our server was 10/10 loved her energy and recommendations. She was all the things we need in the service industry and grateful we had her! All in all, if I'm back in Austin, I'd definitely make a pit stop here again!“

“The property is just beautiful and the atmosphere inside the house is lovely. We visited recently for lunch at 11am. We were seated promptly and service was very good.As far as the menu goes, there are some stand outs and definite "never agains." The Milk Punch French Toast was very tasty. So were the biscuits with strawberry butter and the pimento cheese appetizer. The pimento cheese was made with sharp cheddar and it was delish! The smoked salmon board was good. It's hot-smoked salmon and it was tasty. The salads were very expensive if you want protein, so I opted for the breakfast plate. That was a big mistake. The HUGE let down was the breakfast plate. The wild boar sausage was very dry. The potatoes were so over-seasoned that they really ruined the palate for the rest of the food. For the cost of the plate, it should come with a biscuit. We won't have the breakfast plate again.“

“I had a great lunch over at Stella. I really enjoyed how friendly the hostess was and the server, Yndira. Yndira was great because she took the perfect amount of time to get to know why I was in the Austin area which made me feel great as a guest at the restaurant. The staff seems to really share in the responsibility of providing each guest quality service.“

“I love to bring my son before his schoolday starts once every other week or so. They open at 6:30 and staff is always smiling and kind. Apparently pancakes ? and eggs ? are our go-to orders for breakfast but there is a rich menu that will please almost everyone. The only drawback I can think of is their music choice, and I don’t think you can do much about it ?“

“As an avid fan of delicious food, it's hard not try these extravaganza of flavor options. Also they're open late and quality is always high. The visits I made were during SXSW at the busiest peaks and they still brought fantastic service. I don't think there's much anyone could do in that atmosphere of waves of customers... It's just very very busy. Get in, get on it, get out full.“

“If you're looking for a Bloody Mary to knock your socks off, this is the place. We ordered a 6-7 on the scale and slightly regretted it as we only were able to take a sip. Talk about heat!!! WTF! The burger chef is a rockstar and we heard sometimes he does autographs. He said next time if you order a bloody, only ask for the spice at a 1 or a 2; well...you know what they say, 'You live and you learn.'“

“We decided to stop here to do some sort of activity on our vacation and it quickly became the highlight or our trip. We booked ahead of time and got a nice room that we shared with one other group, it was the perfect mix between going out but not being overwhelmed by the crowds. “Stopped in at 11 am and only waited about 5 minutes for a table. Friendly service from the host and server Sharon. I ordered the special omelette stuffed with carne guisada and it came topped with queso. The carne guisada tasted more like shredded beef, but it was still very tasty and the breakfast potatoes were very good too. I asked for a side of salsa and that added more flavor on top.I also ordered the banana pecan pancakes, but they weren't moist or fluffy at all. They tasted kind of like boxed pancake mix and they were thin, dry, and a bit overcooked. Definitely not the worst, but I wouldn't order it again. The patio is nice, but sit outside at your own risk lol. There's a few bird thieves that will snatch the eggs and potatoes right off your plate while you're eating.I enjoyed it overall and will go back again in the future.“

“What an amazing dinner! We went with a group and were so impressed. The staff was so professional and the service was great, and getting to watch the open kitchen was a bonus! Now for the food: everyone throughly enjoyed their meals! We started with wines from their extensive wine list. Appetizers were the Gruyère popovers (so light and eggy) served with onion butter, and their steak tartare (so well balanced!). I got the pork shoulder with collards that was so savory, with so much brightness added with a beurre blanc and grapefruit slices. If I'm ever back in Austin, I'd want to visit again!“

“Everything about this place is incredible. Starting with the food. And their extensive collection of interesting and homemade sauces. What a great place to meet some friends, especially if you're new to the area. Did I mention they also have dedicated motorcycle parking? If you're an idiot and try to park in the parking lot with an RV, I would suggest not going down the steep ramp if you don't want to scrape up the bottom. 10 out of 10. Great music. Cool vibes.“

“This iconic modest place is 98 years old. Multiple generations of the same univetsity dorms and groups and families have eaten here. I have now been waited on by the grandson and great-nephew of the brothers that made my burgers 50 years ago. The fried burgers and the onion rings are particularly good. The decor is centered around UT and nostalgia.“

“Alex was our server and absolutely phenomenal! We had this restaurant recommended by our Airbnb host and she was totally spot on. We sat outside and while it was windy it was still very comfortable. The restaurant itself has a clean, modern feel and while it was busy, it didn't feel rushed. I love that they are so conscious about their sourcing and getting local products - we loved every dish we got! We started with a beet salad, poplar mushrooms, and the roasted cabbage, all of which were great - but the roasted cabbage was an especially unique and delicious dish! We then moved on to the housemade sourdough bread which came with 3 different types of butter. For 4 people, we ended up requesting an additional serving of bread which was an upcharge but very needed! We then moved on to the pappardelle and rigatoni for our pasta course - the pappardelle had a delicious ragu and the rigatoni was a more classic tomato sauce. Both done beautifully and with great flavor and sauce to pasta ratio. For the main courses, we had the chicken with soccoro sauce and the wagyu - our only complaint was that we had the chicken after the wagyu, which was truly unfair to the chicken! The wagyu was probably one of the best things I've ever had - so tender and beautifully cooked with a delicious chimmichurri! After all of that, of course we had to have dessert and ended up accidentally getting the sorbet in addition to the other 3 desserts - though it ended up being our favorite dessert of the night. It has a lovely cream/foam on top that made it beyond delicious. Overall, this is a can't miss!“
“I always enjoying eating at Ranch Hand! Their menu is fairly condensed, but they have great options. Their organic bowls are made with locally sourced ingredients and everything tastes so fresh. I always add a fried egg on top and it never disappoints. Very cozy and cool atmosphere with a coffee/pastry shop located right next to it.“

“Hubby read about this place having great burgers on Reddit so we went with our gran-pups riding along for an adventure. Weather was nice, great outdoor patio to enjoy. But when we got there and checked out the menu our go-to favs screamed out- so instead of getting burgers he had a BLT and I got a Reuben sandwich. The guy inside that took my order was so nice and friendly. Both sandwiches were SO good! Fried okra was perfectly fried, not overdone or greasy. Did not disappoint and everyone enjoyed! I guess our burger adventure will need to continue and we'll be back for those soon-:)“

“We came in for the brunch for the first time today. Have been here for dinner but never the brunch. It was our anniversary and we had two awesome servers--Jacob who started us off and Exel who was working the bar and served us as well. They were both friendly, personable and attentive. The food was fantastic--I had the fried chicken biscuit and my husband and I shared the Gem Salad, both really delicious. They were kind enough to bring us the deviled eggs on the house and they are definitely a must. We finished off by splitting a Cinnamon roll-- perfect tender dough and not overly sweet. All in all a really nice experience, and we'll definitely be back again.“
