“Mind blown. Dining at Hestia is an experience. A well orchestrated dance in fine dining. The service is unmatched. It's flawless in my book. No detail is overlooked. You are treated to a service team. A team that knows how to make you feel like you are the only people in the restaurant. It's genius and very commendable. The food. Oh the food! Every bite that we had was savored, was thought about. The crab tarts are a one bite wonder, the charred broccoli had your palate dancing about, the scallops...oh the scallops! I have no words to do that dish justice. If you go, it's a MUST. The pork chop changed my life once and it did it again. It's phenomenal. I had the bunelo for dessert. A delicate, intricately crafted masterpiece. A treasure trove of flavors. A new discovery with every bite. I described it to or server as ‘ confusing in the best way possible'. Cheers to the staff at Hestia! You know how to do it right“

“Salty Sow sets a warm, lively scene with its classic soundtrack, featuring artists like Michael Jackson and Journey. The place perfectly combines comfort with a bit of nostalgia. The meal started strong with the dirty fries, a standout dish. The combination of crispy fries, rich gravy, and creamy cheese sauce made for a fantastic appetizer (as showcased in the photo I took). While the beef shoulder and chicken thighs were delicious, the dirty fries were the true highlight, leaving a lasting impression. The service was excellent -- attentive without being intrusive. However, there was a minor issue with gnats and flies buzzing around, which was a slight distraction from the otherwise cozy atmosphere. Overall, Salty Sow delivers a delightful dining experience with great food and a friendly vibe, making it well worth a visit, especially for those fries.“

“4/1/24We dined at around 7:30 P.M., and we enjoyed some very interesting food! Our waiter was very nice and informative. We got a bit intrigued by the salmon egg mayonnaise appetizer, so we ordered it. Although it was 'interesting' to see and try...we had no idea that it was prepared with salmon eggs on top of the devil egged concoction. The burst of salmon egg with the somewhat boiled egg...was not a favorable appetizer. We would NEVER suggest it. 1/10 (the one rating comes from the good mayo)The fish meal on the menu was REALLY GOOD! The buttery sauce that is generously given on the plate the pan-seared fish was placed on top of really made this meal exceptional. The preparation of it was great. I wish there were more food on the plate, though (or that a good bread accompanied it). 10/10 RATING!My dinner friend ordered the pork chops with the cabbage slice. I would rate that pretty low, though. The cabbage slice was grilled, and some of it was grilled too much to enjoy. You MUST TRY THE BEET SALAD!!!! IT IS SOOOO DELICIOUS!!! 10/10 RATING!!The cheese board for a dessert was great, too... The cheese selected and the jelly was delectable. The tea that is used tastes really good. The ART WORK in the restaurant is pretty and joyful to see! Our waiter allowed us to look at the book that was prepared on each artist that has art exhibited in the restaurant. You would enjoy reading about them IF you have the time.“

“Perfectly prepared Seafood, comfortable but elegant ambiance, and a great location. A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense. The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. No street parking $15 for first 3 hours of valet.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible throughout“

We were immediately seated when we got there and we were attended to right away. We started our meal with the croquets that sat on aioli sauce. They were delicious! Our main entrees consisted of the appetizing board which had a bagel with caramelized onions, smoked salmon, wasabi cream cheese, watercress and capers. The other was the Croque Madam which was an omelette filled with ham, Gruyère and a side of mixed greens with lemon vinaigrette dressing. We pretty much polished our meal. “The property is just beautiful and the atmosphere inside the house is lovely. We visited recently for lunch at 11am. We were seated promptly and service was very good.As far as the menu goes, there are some stand outs and definite "never agains." The Milk Punch French Toast was very tasty. So were the biscuits with strawberry butter and the pimento cheese appetizer. The pimento cheese was made with sharp cheddar and it was delish! The smoked salmon board was good. It's hot-smoked salmon and it was tasty. The salads were very expensive if you want protein, so I opted for the breakfast plate. That was a big mistake. The HUGE let down was the breakfast plate. The wild boar sausage was very dry. The potatoes were so over-seasoned that they really ruined the palate for the rest of the food. For the cost of the plate, it should come with a biscuit. We won't have the breakfast plate again.“

“Stopped in at 11 am and only waited about 5 minutes for a table. Friendly service from the host and server Sharon. I ordered the special omelette stuffed with carne guisada and it came topped with queso. The carne guisada tasted more like shredded beef, but it was still very tasty and the breakfast potatoes were very good too. I asked for a side of salsa and that added more flavor on top.I also ordered the banana pecan pancakes, but they weren't moist or fluffy at all. They tasted kind of like boxed pancake mix and they were thin, dry, and a bit overcooked. Definitely not the worst, but I wouldn't order it again. The patio is nice, but sit outside at your own risk lol. There's a few bird thieves that will snatch the eggs and potatoes right off your plate while you're eating.I enjoyed it overall and will go back again in the future.“

“What an amazing dinner! We went with a group and were so impressed. The staff was so professional and the service was great, and getting to watch the open kitchen was a bonus! Now for the food: everyone throughly enjoyed their meals! We started with wines from their extensive wine list. Appetizers were the Gruyère popovers (so light and eggy) served with onion butter, and their steak tartare (so well balanced!). I got the pork shoulder with collards that was so savory, with so much brightness added with a beurre blanc and grapefruit slices. If I'm ever back in Austin, I'd want to visit again!“

“Everything about this place is incredible. Starting with the food. And their extensive collection of interesting and homemade sauces. What a great place to meet some friends, especially if you're new to the area. Did I mention they also have dedicated motorcycle parking? If you're an idiot and try to park in the parking lot with an RV, I would suggest not going down the steep ramp if you don't want to scrape up the bottom. 10 out of 10. Great music. Cool vibes.“

“This iconic modest place is 98 years old. Multiple generations of the same univetsity dorms and groups and families have eaten here. I have now been waited on by the grandson and great-nephew of the brothers that made my burgers 50 years ago. The fried burgers and the onion rings are particularly good. The decor is centered around UT and nostalgia.“

“Alex was our server and absolutely phenomenal! We had this restaurant recommended by our Airbnb host and she was totally spot on. We sat outside and while it was windy it was still very comfortable. The restaurant itself has a clean, modern feel and while it was busy, it didn't feel rushed. I love that they are so conscious about their sourcing and getting local products - we loved every dish we got! We started with a beet salad, poplar mushrooms, and the roasted cabbage, all of which were great - but the roasted cabbage was an especially unique and delicious dish! We then moved on to the housemade sourdough bread which came with 3 different types of butter. For 4 people, we ended up requesting an additional serving of bread which was an upcharge but very needed! We then moved on to the pappardelle and rigatoni for our pasta course - the pappardelle had a delicious ragu and the rigatoni was a more classic tomato sauce. Both done beautifully and with great flavor and sauce to pasta ratio. For the main courses, we had the chicken with soccoro sauce and the wagyu - our only complaint was that we had the chicken after the wagyu, which was truly unfair to the chicken! The wagyu was probably one of the best things I've ever had - so tender and beautifully cooked with a delicious chimmichurri! After all of that, of course we had to have dessert and ended up accidentally getting the sorbet in addition to the other 3 desserts - though it ended up being our favorite dessert of the night. It has a lovely cream/foam on top that made it beyond delicious. Overall, this is a can't miss!“

“I always enjoying eating at Ranch Hand! Their menu is fairly condensed, but they have great options. Their organic bowls are made with locally sourced ingredients and everything tastes so fresh. I always add a fried egg on top and it never disappoints. Very cozy and cool atmosphere with a coffee/pastry shop located right next to it.“

“I dropped by for lunch with the wife. Line was long but moved pretty quickly. Staff is helpful and friendly. Food was amazing. Brisket and turkey was juicy and full of flavor. Ribs are tender and seasoned well. Street corn has a little kick and mac n cheese is super cheesy. Potato salad was good as well. We will definitely be dropping by again.“

“Absolutely the best new place to eat in Austin. The food is absolutely delicious, unique and ever changing. I've been for dinner three times and brunch once. Never had anything bad. Also the price point is pretty great for such high quality food. Parking situation is terrible but that's everywhere in Austin. This is my go-to place to bring friends!I've had Dre as my server twice, he is hilarious, incredibly great at anticipating needs and his recs were fantastic. Ask for his section if you can!“

“Hubby read about this place having great burgers on Reddit so we went with our gran-pups riding along for an adventure. Weather was nice, great outdoor patio to enjoy. But when we got there and checked out the menu our go-to favs screamed out- so instead of getting burgers he had a BLT and I got a Reuben sandwich. The guy inside that took my order was so nice and friendly. Both sandwiches were SO good! Fried okra was perfectly fried, not overdone or greasy. Did not disappoint and everyone enjoyed! I guess our burger adventure will need to continue and we'll be back for those soon-:)“

“We came in for the brunch for the first time today. Have been here for dinner but never the brunch. It was our anniversary and we had two awesome servers--Jacob who started us off and Exel who was working the bar and served us as well. They were both friendly, personable and attentive. The food was fantastic--I had the fried chicken biscuit and my husband and I shared the Gem Salad, both really delicious. They were kind enough to bring us the deviled eggs on the house and they are definitely a must. We finished off by splitting a Cinnamon roll-- perfect tender dough and not overly sweet. All in all a really nice experience, and we'll definitely be back again.“
