In any case the Flying Avocado wrap I had contained roast turkey, Gouda, romaine, tomato, avocado and hummus. It was delicious. My daughter had a delightful vegetarian salad and my wife ate a delicious Mediterranean chicken kabob bowl. They both drank water and then finished with chocolate chip cookies. I drank a draft IPA.
We sat outside on their covered patio and enjoyed the spring weather and though the restaurant is a little far from our house in Pflugerville, I’m sure we will be back.

“This restaurant is such a gem. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Tried griilled cabbage salad with added gilled chicken. It was the perfect salad with sophisticated ingredients but the simple lemon and olive oil sauce, loved it. We also tried shirmp and grits which was a huge dish but so tasty nothing left behind. We also tried chili glazed chicken which was both healthy and a delicious dish. Finally we tried the baked alaska it is served with alcohol burning ceremony on the merengue. Inside icer cream and cake was delicious, merengue was too sweet for me but worth for the ceremony.“

I stayed at Kasa Haus on 6th Street a couple of weeks ago while traveling for work, and I want to give a huge shout out to Calvin.

To be completely honest, I was exhausted. I had been traveling, working, and Austin was my final stop. I ran into a hiccup during my stay and was frustrated more by the principle of the situation than the situation itself. Looking back, I know I was carrying a lot of that exhaustion with me.

What stood out was Calvin.

He genuinely listened. He genuinely cared. He never made me feel dismissed, rushed, or like I was just another guest. Even when I was probably not the easiest person to deal with, he remained professional, patient, and committed to making things right.

The reality is that the issue itself eventually became secondary. What mattered was knowing that someone actually cared enough to listen and wanted to help. That level of hospitality is rare, and Calvin delivered it effortlessly.

I really want to thank him personally. Calvin, if you happen to read this, thank you. You are one of a kind. You have the qualities that great leaders are made of, and I truly hope your career takes you far. You have what it takes.

Because of your professionalism, your patience, and your willingness to step up, you turned me into a believer. I would gladly stay here again and look forward to booking with Kasa in the future.

“My wife and I travel frequently to Austin and have for a number of years. With two of our children here, we have dined out at many of Austin's finest restaurants. I am a partner in a number of businesses in Sonoma County, California, including golf courses, theaters and a restaurant. I am rarely motivated to write a restaurant review, particularly a glowing review. My wife found Oz. Tap House online and it was very close to our hotel. My personal experience with tap houses is that they have great beer, but mediocre food and generally less than mediocre service. I went online and looked at the menu, still not particularly enthusiastic. But I decided to place a dinner order for my wife and I and was immediately blown away by the online ordering system. Virtually every menu item can be custom ordered in a dizzying variety of ways. I even remarked to my wife that it was the finest online ordering software that I had ever seen. But ordering is one thing and execution is another. My wife ordered the Oz. House Burger (Beef), cooked medium, substituting lettuce wrap for the bun and adding avocado with a small avocado jalapeno side salad. Again, the customization options were many. I ordered the Charcuterie Pretzel and a Side Caesar Salad, with no croutons. I knew the restaurant was only a couple of minute drive, but even then the speed of the announcement of the projected pickup time and the time itself was amazing; less than 15 minutes. When I picked up the meals at curbside, I told the waitress how impressed I had been with the online ordering system and she thanked me and told me she would have to tell her husband. Turns out Krista and her husband, Sean, own and operate the restaurant. I had assumed with the level of sophistication that it must be a franchise or chain, but no, Oz. is a true mom and pop restaurant. When leaving I told Krista that the proof would be in (i) whether the delivered food matched the order and (ii) the quality of the food. I had barely started eating when my wife announced that her salad was spectacular and the burger one of the best she had ever had. My meal was every bit as impressive. Again, uncharacteristically for me, I called Krista (even though the restaurant was hopping and I knew she was busy), just to tell her that the food was as good or better than the service. This is as advertised: true farm-to-market fare, exceedingly fresh, expertly prepared as ordered and quickly delivered. Yes, Oz. may not have McDonald's prices, but it has infinitely superior food, expertly prepared and efficiently delivered. We admittedly didn't even try what was probably the standout feature of the restaurant: the beer. I assume if the restaurant part of the tap house was spectacular, the beer side of it must be even more so. Next time. Do yourself a favor and try the Oz. Tap House. My very best wishes to Krista and Sean on a very successful business in a tough industry.“

Our server was helpful but there was some confusion over the prix fixe menu and options. There were several options they could do gf and df with many marked on the menu as gf. There is cross contamination in the fryer but minimal. The attention to detail was nice and presentation had a farm to table foodie appeal. There is seating at tables with umbrellas in the front. Seems perfect for dates, groups, and even families. A google search made it easy to find free parking in front, in the back, or the parking lot to the right.“
