“Last weekend we ended our day of distilleries here in hopes of catching the astros game and ended up having the MOST FUN throwing axes and having drinks! So glad we found this place. Highly recommend!“

“We loved our entire experience at Desert Door Distillery! We were welcomed immediately by friendly staff, chose a seat on their outside patio and a server immediately can over right away! We started with the flight to try three sotols. I fully enjoyed the sotol even though tequila is not my liquor of choice. Sotol is much better! Our server Katie was so friendly and gave us great recommendations on their mixed drinks as well explained what sotol is all about. Fun bonus, there was an oyster food truck. So delicious! There was also a taco food truck but didn’t try that. Per Katie’s recommendation, we tried their rotating desert door frozen. It was coconut pineapple flavored and so perfect on this hot day. I wish I lived in Texas so I could come back more! But if we come back to Austin this will not be missed!“

Americana ephemera - old farming stuff, 50s auto relics, vintage glass, flags - and other familiar features of a well loved bar. Varied and interesting beer selection. “We hosted our son’s wedding welcome party at Willow Lake Watering Hole and Mercantile in May 2025, and it was absolutely perfect. Owners Greg and Chloe went above and beyond to bring our vision to life for a 230-person celebration. The Jesse Stratton Band (with a fiddler added at the bride’s request!) played amazing music, the twinkle-lit outdoor pavilion was magical, and the bar service was top-notch all night. As out-of-towners, we needed local help, and Greg truly delivered. He connected us with a rideshare driver (Chris) and even arranged late-night pizza delivery from Marco’s when nothing else was open. His response? “I’d want someone to do this for my daughter.” This wasn't just a venue, it felt like being welcomed by good neighbors who genuinely cared. “Had dinner at Homespun last night. Our first time there. It was WONDERFUL! The CF Steak & CF Chicken were absoultely delicious. Prices were reasonable. My only disappointment was that the veggie side dish servings were quite small. Otherwise, a wonderful meal. Servers were very courteous and knowledgeable. Can't wait to visit Homespun again.“
