“Welcome home. If I could title my review, that would be it. From the moment I stepped through the door, the (cute!) young man behind the counter made me feel like he had been waiting for me all day. I have anxiety, but it melted away with his charm. The mac and cheese wasn’t ready when I got there, so I was given two choices: they’d replace it with any side, or I could wait and they would make it fresh. Who doesn’t like fresh food? I was entertained while I waited, and the time flew by. Food was hot and fresh. Service was above and beyond. It was my first time in Grand Prairie, but I hope to be back ASAP — only partially for the eye candy!“

“On Tuesday my sister and I made our way through the greater Dallas area and planned to stop and eat at Hurtado’s Arlington location. My brother in law and husband came here earlier in the year and have raved about it ever since. My plan was to bring anything leftover back home for the husband. We get in line, which moved rapidly, and I immediately ask about honey and pineapple usage on any of the food. I was told only the gold sauce had honey and they could just leave it off. Perfect! Without me asking the server immediately told the kitchen switch gloves, switch knives and anything else you can. I greatly appreciated the extra care and concern. We head to check out. The cashier hadn’t even handed me my receipt yet when the server walks up and says “so…there’s a honey glaze on everything except the brisket and burnt ends. And everything is cooked on the same grates.” Bummer! I’m not willing to put my life on the line to eat bbq. Toby and Wendy tried so hard to figure out alternatives or anything else they could possibly do, but in the end they just refunded the order. But I didn’t leave empty handed and the hubby was ecstatic to get some Hurtado’s brought home. I just want to give a huge thanks to everyone at Hurtado’s Arlington location, especially Toby and Wendy, for not only caring but going out of their way to try to fix it. It was very much appreciated, especially when so many other restaurants just shrug their shoulders and say “I don’t think so.” When I ask about my allergens. It meant a lot that you guys cared enough about your customer to not put them in danger. I can’t personally attest to the bbq but I can say that cabbage slaw is AMAZING and the corn is fabulous! My family said the bbq was excellent even reheated the next day. In the words of my 16 yr old, “It’s so good it almost brings a tear to your eye.” And that’s coming from a family of bbq snobs who compete in competitions and do bbq pop ups of their own. Great job Hurtado’s in every aspect! Keep up the great customer service and apparently great bbq!“

The bbq beans could use a little more time in the cooker and some sugar to help soften them and mashed potatoes do need some garlic powder to help balance the flavor. Otherwise the food was great will be visiting again in near future.“

“Hard to not give them a perfect rating. This location does everything right in my book. They always have impeccable service and the staff is very friendly. They quickly became a Sunday favorite of ours. You can tell that whoever manages/owns this place runs a tight ship and takes pride in the type of service they provide. The meat to highlight is the chicken. Their dessert could be improved by placing it on a bigger bowl as the ice cream melts it creates a mess that spills over the edge of the bowl.“

“I recommend don't go. I got a 3 meat plate ribs slice beef and sausage. the beef was very fatty un eatable. the ribs was supposed to be fall off the bone. No they were not. the greens was too spicy 🔥. the only thing on my plate that was worth eating was the beans and bread. spent $23.82 to feed my dog I will never go back. & as many as you want, which is something you can't find at other Bar B Que places. the one I am reviewing has been in business at that same spot for a Very Long Time. At least 15 or so years. So it's nice to see them still in business and going strong. I don't get to dine there very often, but when I do. I know I will have a good experience. The Food is freshly served and Always delicious. The staff there is always friendly and helpful. More than enough Parking spaces. Well lit and a warm atmosphere. Lots of families and some people that are dating tend to dine there. So it's a real pleasure to experience. OKAY so I'm going to add one last thought to this review. I Really miss the excitement and enthusiasm that the staff at Spring Creek used to exhibit. Now days it feels more like a lubys cafeteria or a funeral home. I'm not sure which one. Believe me. I've dined at Spring Creek off and on since at least 2000 and it's just not the same. Not to mention that I spent almost 70.00s for just myself and my girlfriend for two meals. I am seriously thinking about going back to and staying with Hard Eights BBQ, at least there they doesn't feel so.....Dead.“

“This Dickey's has not only great food but also an amazing management team and staff. I placed a catering order for a Celebration of Life luncheon. The food was fresh and delicious, the delivery was on time and not a thing was missing from my large order. My calls with Sal, Ray and other staff members all gave me a feeling of confidence that my order was in good hands and that was exactly the way it turned out.“

“I live nearby and order from this Dickey’s all the time. The food is always consistent brisket is tender, pulled pork is flavorful, and the sides too. The staff knows how to take care of their customers and they’re always friendly, whether I’m picking up or dining in. “Turning Point is one of our favorite breweries in the DFW area and we make it a point to to stop in anytime we are in the area visiting family. Having visited breweries across the US, one thing that is usually lacking in quality 99% of the time is food. I am not sure how long Godspeed has been serving up their delicious BBQ at Turning Point but the brewery should do everything they can to retain them. Godspeed has some of THE BEST brisket I have ever had in my life. It was melt in your mouth good and the bark was perfection. They have bbq sauce available but this is one of those times you should let the meat speak for itself and savor the flavor of it on its own before you douse it in sauce. I promise you will thank me later for this. Also, the beans were FANTASTIC!!! I can understand if y’all don’t want to share the recipe but they were some of the best beans I have ever had! We were hoping to find some fantastic BBQ on our visit and decided to end our at at Turning Point. Who knew we would find some of the best BBQ we have ever had in our entire lives??? The family that runs it is super friendly too. Shout out to the owner’s Dad who was so kind and generous with his time chatting us up! “I spent a good chunk of time walking the outfield concourse, hoping to find something sweet or savory with a shorter line. Nothing really stood out, until I turned the corner and spotted the Sweet Baby Ray’s sign.

I went with the BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese, and it was absolutely amazing, even on a hot day. Rich, flavorful, and totally satisfying. Couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon meal during the game. Worth the wait and the walk.“

Having to update from my 5 star this food has went down hill fast the good looking picture is from when they first remodeled it. Food has been very inconsistent. Food was great when it first open. Went from great looking food to always dried out and under seasoned food. Mac and cheese is sticky and dry. Meat is completely dried out most of the time also. The good picture is how it looked before now it's just crap food again like it was before. Some day the cornbread is great other days it's hard. Same thing with the potatoes some day they are nice crispy on outside and seasoned well but it just seems like they just mash a potato and serve it to you“

If heaven had a smokehouse, it would be the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Irving. I walked in expecting a decent meal, but what I got was a life-altering encounter with the most glorious ribs to ever grace a grill.

From the moment they hit the table, the aroma alone was enough to silence every thought in my head. These weren’t just ribs—they were slow-smoked symphonies, each bite an explosion of smoky, tender perfection. The meat? So juicy it practically leapt off the bone in surrender. The bark? A masterclass in caramelized, smoky bliss with just the right whisper of heat. And that sauce—oh, that sauce—it was like sweet Southern poetry with a smoky kick that made my taste buds weep tears of joy.

I don’t know what kind of barbecue sorcery is going on in that kitchen, but whoever’s manning the pit deserves a trophy, a medal, and probably a national holiday. Honestly, after these ribs, I’m questioning every other barbecue experience I’ve ever had. Were those even ribs? Or just sad pretenders to the smoky throne?“
