I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, other side dishes, and soups. I have never been disappointed. JR is one of the friendliest, generous, and community- oriented individuals you would ever meet. I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. That speaks volumes to the importance of not just quality taste, flavor blending of smoke wood meats, but to the importance of food safety. “I stopped by Smokey Beards today and was seriously blown away. I had the sliced brisket with coleslaw and salad on the side, and everything was fresh, tender, and full of flavor
I also tried the pulled brisket over fries with mushroom sauce and some great sides, and it was just as good. Every bite stood out.

What really sets this place apart is the quality of the meat. They use prime beef, which is the highest grade, and you can taste the difference right away. Rich, juicy, and done right. Even with that quality, the prices are still very reasonable.

The service made the experience even better. The owner, Artan, and Sharif were both friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful. They took the time to explain everything and made it feel welcoming.

The place has a beautiful setup with that classic Fort Worth, old West vibe, while still offering some creative dishes.

“We love Soulman's so much. Until the location in N. Richland Hills opened, we would drive east to Van Texas to get their BBQ and especially the Ranch House Beans. The staff is very accommodating with a special shout to Holly (NRH location). She was working the drive-thru window when I went there a couple of days ago. I had a fairly large order with a few special requests. Holly took care of it with a smile and when we got home with the food, everything was correct. I have not gone inside the N Richland Hills location yet, but the one in Van is very nice and clean. I feel certain this location will be also. I very highly recommend Soulman's.“

“Dare I say that this spot rivals LSA Burger in terms of taste, and LSA has some of the best burgers I've ever had.

I ordered 2 sliders for $14, the Main Street and the Rail Sliders. Maria, the chef, cooked the beef to absolute perfection, medium rare, amazingly juicy patties, perfectly complimented with each ingredient. The Main Street used a slight bit of mustard with fried onion strings (basically small strings of onion rings), with cheddar, to create an almost sweet, rich slider. The Rail used cooked onion strings instead, with barbecue sauce and gouda cheese. This made for a much richer, deeply savory slider, one you'll definitely want to eat slowly.

I can't stress enough how well every component was cooked as well as how the all go together to create flavors that are so elegant. I'll definitely be returning. I will say that they are so decadent that you'll probably wish that the slider was a full sized burger instead. Hopefully one day!

“Some of the best BBQ in Ft. Worth. Not a really big place but they've been around for years. There aren't many people you can talk to in Ft. Worth who don't know about Lloyd's cafe. It's almost a historical movie to the local residents. Laid back atmosphere and they boast "the coldest beer in Ft. Worth." The ribs(meat falling off the bone and so flavorful) and bolo are my personal favorites! And the weekend is probably the best time to visit.“
