“I have eaten and shared my love of BBQ for years traveling the United States in my job, and living for a time in South Texas enjoying the outstanding Tex Mex cuisine of mesquite wood burning smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, etc. JR's is a wonderful experience if you are looking for outstanding BBQ, family outing, very professional, friendly staff, with a wide selection of menu options that are simply delicious! I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, other side dishes, and soups. I have never been disappointed. JR is one of the friendliest, generous, and community- oriented individuals you would ever meet. I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. That speaks volumes to the importance of not just quality taste, flavor blending of smoke wood meats, but to the importance of food safety. I would highly recommend stopping by and trying the food for yourself as the flavor of mesquite smoked meat is tantalizing to the taste buds, the atmosphere is very friendly/inviting, and the service the best! Suffice it to say that JR and his staff go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is memorable, and enjoyable! P.S. ask JR to let you see the fire pits in the back so you can see where the outstanding BBQ is made. JR is very approachable.“

“Went to the opening today, absolutely great to see it was packed and busy, waited 50min to get my order, which under the circumstances I felt was expected, food was fantastic, mushrooms were exactly how I remembered them, except when I got home was missing my daughters nuggets and my chicken roll, I was devastated, waiting yrs to eat this roll again lol. Staff were fantastic and apologetic for wait. Rang and left msgs but no reply...rrcieved a wrap instead of roll, ill be taking it back tomorrow with receipt as proof, definitely will be back, and definitely recommend, shame order was wrong.ill be back for that chicken roll, can't wait, other than mix up food was fantastic“

“The Brisket was lean and good like the Turkey. The frys and Okra were cold. Disappointed about that. The frys dont taste like the other Hutchins. The Okra was way over fried. The Cobbler was good and hot. I will go back to this one one more time.“

We got to have a private tasting before hand and all of the food was delicious. The staff was so friendly at our wedding and greeted every guest with a smile. If you are looking for BBQ for your wedding or special event look no further than Patriotic Pig! They also did full bussing service, cut our cake for us, and cleaned up at the end of the night! “While passing through, I stopped in today for the first time and I'm very pleased with my rib sandwich. The meat came right off the bone. My sandwich had 3 full ribs with the rib tips. The meat was well seasoned and tender. Their ribs is on point! Highly recommend.“

I've never tried this BBQ, so placed an order with Kyle through the drive thru! The ribs were tender and tasted very fresh although near closing time!

Let's touch on the banana pudding; wow! Not overly sweet, and have me craving more!(add more cookies, and you've got a real winner)

To top it off, the absolutely admirable service received from Kyle was one to remember!
Sometimes you have these jewels in the restaurant business that need to be recognized for the true people skills they offer, as it is a SKILL!!

“I 100% recommend this restaurant, mainly because of the friendly people who work there. I especially want to recognize Mike Quinney who helped us with a gift card issue. I hope the owner Chris Carol sees this so he can understand what an asset he has in Mike Quinney. He helped me and my mother above and beyond and I want everyone to know what a great store partner he is. The food is delicious also and it’s been a go too since I was very young.“

“When the smell hit me as I opened the door I knew I had made a good decision to try this place. I had ribs, sliced brisket and jerk chicken. They also let me sample a bite of sausage. The ribs were excellent; they pulled clean from the bone without being overcooked. The brisket was juicy with a really nice texture. The chicken was excellent and I was happy to see chicken on the bone on the menu, not every bbq does that. The sausage was clearly made from scratch and very delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly and had great smoke. Sides were on point too. I will definitely be back soon.“

“We had Riscky's cater our company Thanksgiving lunch today for 160 employees in two separate deliveries. From service to food, it was an exceptionally great experience from start to finish. I did a lot of research prior to booking, and you can't beat the caliber and variety of food you receive for the affordability. “This Rudy's location is consistently good. I like their smoked potatoes loaded with turkey or pork loin. Pulled pork sandwiches are good as well. Rudy's does not have a fryer, so no fries or fried okra, but lots of other sides to choose from. I bought a bottle of their Sissy Sause to take home.“

“I don’t even leave reviews like this but I had to. True Texas BBQ is hands down the BEST barbecue I’ve ever had and I’m beyond picky. My food has to be seasoned and flavorful or I’m not impressed.

That chicken?? Baby. So juicy. Seasoned to perfection. The perfect balance of spice and a little sweetness. I literally shocked myself at how fast I ate it 😭 I was tearing that chicken UP.

I called my best friend while I was still eating and told her I’m taking her next time my treat. That’s how good it was.

“Came here on a company lunch.
Very country interior, homey feel. The food was good, the brisket slices were tender, the mac and cheese was decent, super cheesy and perfect consistency. Jalapeño poppers were good in flavor and probably my favorite item ordered. The fried corn was good and sweet!!
The sweet and spicy bbq sauce isn’t as spicy as I thought it was gonna be, I find theres not much spice at all. But the flavor is still bbq and good!
Banana pudding was delicious i wish there were more cookies in it like lining the bottom and the top!
I’ll probably come back! The service was amazing and the boys behind the counter were very nice, helpful, and respectful.“

“I'll try to be as honest as possible.
The food is really good, the drinks are great, the service is also really good. The atmosphere is my only problem.
Between the music and the crowd, it's a bit much. They have a little side room that can do two or three families only. That was where they seated us..and the speakers were so loud we just stared at each other during the meal. No conversation unless you leaned in and spoke directly into their ear. I would still highly recommend just for the food.“
