The bands are great. The events (granted, we bring the Naughty Santa every December) are fun.

It took a while (maybe a few months) to make this our home hangout, but after trying out other venues, nothing within 20 miles has the character (or characterS) that The Pour Shack does.”

“I brought my mom here for lunch yesterday. The waiter that served us had kind of a crappy attitude honestly. In some moments he was nice but my mom asked what comes on a bento box because she's unfamiliar and he told her "it's on the menu". She just wanted someone to explain it to her because she was confused by the sushi and the meat options. Obviously not an item she orders often. She asked what the meat is for (i think she thought you get sushi or meat she wasn't understanding it was a part of the box) and he looked at her like she was stupid and pretty flatly answered the question. It embarrassed her. My mom is a really kind hearted person so it was frustrating watching someone make her feel dumb for asking a question in an unfamiliar environment. Sad. The food itself was good. The waiter likely was having a bad day. I've been a server and understand. But wish he'd been kinder to my mom.”

We ate there very frequently but all the sudden one of the waiters decided to start making a big deal over my 76 year old mother ordering off the kids menu since they don't have a senior menu, and for my 2 kids ordering off the kids menu. They're 12 & 13. The age was no where on their menus or website. After they started to make a problem out of it we pointed out that nowhere was an age listed on anything so they wrote it on marker on their menus. Strange hill to choose to battle on, that you'd rather give up customers that ate there 1-2 times a week over the ages on kids meals. It's kind of ridiculous. Ive never seen a restaurant care. Either way, that was it for us. The kids were really upset. They loved going there.”

“I have eaten and shared my love of BBQ for years traveling the United States in my job, and living for a time in South Texas enjoying the outstanding Tex Mex cuisine of mesquite wood burning smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, etc. JR's is a wonderful experience if you are looking for outstanding BBQ, family outing, very professional, friendly staff, with a wide selection of menu options that are simply delicious! I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, other side dishes, and soups. I have never been disappointed. JR is one of the friendliest, generous, and community- oriented individuals you would ever meet. I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. That speaks volumes to the importance of not just quality taste, flavor blending of smoke wood meats, but to the importance of food safety. I would highly recommend stopping by and trying the food for yourself as the flavor of mesquite smoked meat is tantalizing to the taste buds, the atmosphere is very friendly/inviting, and the service the best! “Perfect "Ice House". Great food and prices. Cold schooners of beer and awesome margaritas. Lots of TVs and a few games for the kids after they get tired of playing catch or tag out back. Just a great local hangout for everyone.”

“Excellent little family run hole in the wall joint.

I will say that the only downsides is the parking and space available inside. I would definitely consider this a take out only joint during peak hours, and even then waiting for your order is a little cramped as the tables are all taken and there’s limited standing room.

While the space available inside can’t be helped due to their location, there is additional parking up the street running next to the establishment that’s considerably easier/safer to access and easier to come by. (Vine St. I think?)

The food is great, while I prefer other similar joints for lunch, this one is excels and possibly outperforms the others in terms of breakfast dishes.

Pictured is the migas plate to go, which I highly recommend for breakfast, put the salsa on it!

Any of the tortas are an incredible pick for lunch, you can’t go wrong with any of them!

“This coffee shop inside our local bookstore is one of the most special places in town. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care and intention behind everything the owner does. She is incredibly kind, and that heart shows up in every detail.

So much here is handcrafted in house, from the oat milk to the syrups, and you can truly taste the difference. The drinks are always beautifully balanced and never overly sweet. The seasonal flavors are creative, comforting, and always thoughtfully done.

I also love how many allergy friendly options there are. Everything is nut free, gluten free, and dye free, with great dairy free choices too, which makes it such a safe and welcoming place for so many people.

Sitting with a coffee surrounded by books just feels a little magical. I am so grateful this gem is part of our community.”

“This place feels like a little piece of home. It’s family-owned and you can feel that right away. The owners kids are in the mix and the older ones helping out when needed. Refreshing to witness team work & togetherness in families today.

The shop is filled with natural light from big windows, which makes it feel calm, cozy, and so welcoming. I ordered a chai & it came out with a beautiful cinna-cream top, it was honestly perfect. A comforting and not overly sweet cup of pure goodness. My kids both split, The Mega Melt.. they both loved it! I’ve never seen a more uniquely toasted sandwich. There was melting toasty cheese on the top slice of bread.

You can tell there’s real heart behind this place. It’s not just a coffee cafe, it’s a space where people genuinely belong

“I had a great experience at Kung Fu Tea! I ordered the taro milk tea, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavor was rich and creamy, with the perfect level of sweetness. You can really taste the taro, and it was blended so smoothly.

The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The place was clean and had a nice vibe to relax and enjoy your drink. If you love milk tea, I definitely recommend trying their taro milk tea. I’ll definitely be coming back again! 🧋”

“Great pizza! The crust is amazing! Portions here are very generous. We love the Antipasto Salad - which is a meal all in itself! We also love the meat lovers pizza. Not on the menu online but it exists and it rocks! Very cool atmosphere. They have a small bar with several TVs so you can catch your game. They usually have some music playing which I like while I have a cold draft beer and enjoy the food with my wife and elementary aged kids. When my wife sends me to pickup a pizza I order when I get there, sit at the bar, enjoy a cold one or two, then get my pie and head home. We are lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood!”

this is an amazing hidden gem!
We were just in the neighborhood and looking for somewhere to eat and im surprised there were so little reviews.

The atmosphere is so cute, they had someone singing and playing guitar live.

The place is clean and open.
They have a big display of cakes you can also buy. I didn't try any this time.

We had the stuffed mushrooms, chicken Alfredo, and supreme pizza.

The pizza was perfect and light and delicious.
The stuffed mushrooms stole the show, if you love mushrooms! They were soooo yummy. I wish they gave us double the mushrooms.
The chicken fettuccine was fresh and house made noodles, the chicken was perfect and clean.

We also got a kid's Mac and cheese that was made fresh (no box noodles)
My 18 month old was licking his fingers 🤣🤣😋

I highly recommend this place for a date night, a night out with your family, literally any occasion.

I would recommend Susan's cakes and catering services for any event, especially weddings. She warms my heart because she is so genuine and accommodating for all of our menu requests. “My wife and I first discovered DoubleDaves 20 years ago in San Angelo. Our family have loved eating the buffet there ever since. Glad to see there are still a few locations open.

My wife visited there on a Thursday night. It was pretty dead. The buffet had the basics: pepperoni, meat lovers, chicken alfredo, buffalo chicken (her favorite -says it's the best buffalo chicken pizza ever). Since there wasn't a crowd not much was rotating through. One of my favorite things is the blue cheese dressing on the salad bar. The blue cheese goes great with a jalapeno/pepperoni pizza.

There wasn't much of a vibe with it being empty and the 2 employees were sitting with a buddy in a booth since no one else was there. I'm just guessing but I think it's the fact that 2 buffets cost us $37. The price is worth it for the quality, but DDaves needs to consider adjusting their price points.”

We got there and realized we hadn’t brought our wallet. To make things worse, my tap-to-pay wouldn’t go through. The lady at the counter was incredibly patient and kind she waited while I called my bank and got everything authorized instead of rushing us or turning us away.
