“I'm going to tell y'all about my favorite bbq joint, Back Forty Smokehouse, on Main, off Davis, in North Richland Hills. I've been going there a long time and most often, I call in an order to go, but I have also dined in. It's a very nice place and the staff is excellent. I almost always buy the manager's bbq special, their smallest family pack. For $45, you get your choice of meat (1 lb. of sliced, chopped, pork, or many more choices), 3 sides (1 pint each, beans, coleslaw, potato salad, okra, mac n cheese, fries, etc.), 5 Texas toast, pickles, onions, and choice of sauces. The sliced can be moist, lean, or mixed, they have some spicy bbq sauce available, the potato salad isn't sweet, the beans can be sweet baked beans or pintos with bacon, the coleslaw is rough cut and not sweet. These are all good attributes in my eyes. Maybe y'all will think I just don't know better but I'd put their stuff against anyone else's. The sliced is excellent, tender, smoked well, lean if you want it, more fatty if that's your deal. Went there today and got the $45 deal and once again, got enough for my wife and I to easily eat twice. You can fix 5 plates like the one in the photo. That's a regular sized dinner plate, with pintos, coleslaw, potato salad, onions, pickles and sliced brisket. I like a little sauce on mine“

“I have eaten and shared my love of BBQ for years traveling the United States in my job, and living for a time in South Texas enjoying the outstanding Tex Mex cuisine of mesquite wood burning smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, etc. JR's is a wonderful experience if you are looking for outstanding BBQ, family outing, very professional, friendly staff, with a wide selection of menu options that are simply delicious! I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, ribs, mac and cheese, other side dishes, and soups. I have never been disappointed. JR is one of the friendliest, generous, and community- oriented individuals you would ever meet. I have had the opportunity to see his operation from the fire pits in the back, kitchen, and have always been highly impressed with the cleanliness of his facility. That speaks volumes to the importance of not just quality taste, flavor blending of smoke wood meats, but to the importance of food safety. I would highly recommend stopping by and trying the food for yourself as the flavor of mesquite smoked meat is tantalizing to the taste buds, the atmosphere is very friendly/inviting, and the service the best! “Long term RV park and it is right on beautiful Eagle Mountain Lake, that is a lot of reason to like this place. There are new laundry machines and they are fair price. The tenants are true neighbors, sharing this place and relaxing on the patio. Only trouble has been people who drop off dogs here and think that someone will take care of it. Usually ends up in the road.“

“We hosted my mom’s retirement party at Shady Oaks BBQ with about 40 people, and they made the whole experience so easy—from planning to the party itself. The food was outstanding! The brisket was my favorite, and their suggested “trash can lid” party platters worked perfectly for our group.

Our server, Jenny, was awesome—personable, funny, and great at keeping everything running smoothly. Manager Tom Money was so kind and checked on us several times throughout the event. He even helped me hang our party banner! Those little touches made us feel truly welcome and taken care of.

Everyone had a great time, and I’m so grateful to the team for helping make my mom’s celebration special. Great food, great people, and a wonderful place to host a party!“

“Had a really good experience at LongHorn Steakhouse. We were looking for a good steak and this definitely hit the spot. The food came out hot, the steak was cooked just right, and the sides were really good too.

The atmosphere is nice without being too fancy or stuffy. It’s a good place for a date night, family dinner, or just when you’re in the mood for a steak. Our server was friendly and checked on us throughout the meal without constantly hovering, which I always appreciate.

I also like that you get a pretty good amount of food for what you’re paying. We left full and didn’t feel like we were still hungry 30 minutes later, which isn’t always the case at steak places.

Overall, just a solid experience. Good steak, good sides, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Nothing overly complicated about it. When I’m in the mood for a steak and don’t want to overthink where to go, LongHorn is definitely a place I’d consider again.“

“Stopped in for a bag of chopped beef sandwiches. The kind lady asked if I wanted pickles. I said yes. Waited maybe 2-3 minutes for my food which is pretty good. Get home and no pickles. They weren't expensive at all, but it's the principle of getting the order right. Maybe an oversight this time. I'll be back in the future. Hopefully the order is right then. By the way, the sandwiches are bbq sauce are great.“

“Went to the opening today, absolutely great to see it was packed and busy, waited 50min to get my order, which under the circumstances I felt was expected, food was fantastic, mushrooms were exactly how I remembered them, except when I got home was missing my daughters nuggets and my chicken roll, I was devastated, waiting yrs to eat this roll again lol. Staff were fantastic and apologetic for wait.
