“This is one of those local gems that you rarely encounter. The people here are some of the coolest, most interesting, and welcoming people you'll meet. The beer and wine selection is fantastic and obviously curated in a specific way with thought and personality behind it… so good taste. You can play darts (it's definitely a thing here!), order food in, bring the kids, or even work with your laptop middle of the day. My husband and I live nearby and have been coming here for over a year, usually more than once a week... probably more often than we should. It’s a proper cool ass local.

The space was clean, well-organized, and provided a great setting for guests to mingle and enjoy the experience.

My friend hosted her book signing there, and everything flowed smoothly. The staff was accommodating, and the overall ambiance added a professional yet intimate touch to the event. “Houston Location: We arrived at our reservation and waited 10 minutes for the hostess. Once seated, we were uninstructed on how to order. Sushi chefs explained the process. Our waiter arrived 10 minutes after, taking our drink order. The app arrived before the waters, followed by the drinks after we ordered and received the sushi. The manager noticed us looking for our waiter but was often in the corner on his phone or socializing with the hostess. The sushi chefs were also on their phones while making the sushi, which was unhealthy. Despite the germy seasoning, the food was amazing.“

“We had a beautiful wedding at AvantGarden. My partner and I were looking for aesthetically pleasing and queer friendly wedding venues. When we emailed AvantGarden to see if they are comfortable with LGBT weddings, Mariana swiftly replied, “At AvantGarden, love is love.” We went to tour the venue because it was beautiful online and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the fact that they do all inclusive weddings! The florals, cake, food, and DJ were all excellent. Pizza, cocktail hour charcuterie and the taco truck were all big hits with our guests. We’re very thankful to Mariana and her team!“

“Great chill vibes, was able to have a conversation with my date and the craft cocktails were both reasonably priced and actually quite unique and intriguing. I tried the Trinidad James since I love black sesame despite not normally being someone who can stand Angostura Bitters but it was beautifully balanced and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. This bar is definitely now on my shortlist for when I'm downtown.“

“$9.99 burger special on Fridays is a great deal! You get a double smashburger, fries, and a draft beer or frozen. Burger was good, fries were well seasoned, and they have a nice selection of drafts. We sat inside because of the heat but the outdoor space is lovely. They have a decent sized parking lot next to the building and there was plenty of parking available around 5-6pm.“

“Today, 5-16-24, I had an excellent experience at Premier Daiquiris. I didn’t get the lady’s name that was working the drive thru, but she helped me out today more than she knows. Right before I arrived at this establishment, I received back to back phone calls that were not good. I went to Premier Daiquiris to get a daiquiri. The African American lady at the drive thru began talking to me about cars and family and she also recommended a drink that was good. She doesn’t know how much the conversation I had with her really calmed my mind at the time. Hopefully she is able to see this comment!“

“Wow, Adulis is definitely a hidden gem! I am not very familiar with Eritrean food but have eaten a lot of Ethiopian food which has some similarities. Ms Bohana (apologies if spelling incorrect) was lovely and took care of me and my friends. Her recipes are fantastic and I felt as if we were eating a home cooked meal. The vegetarian platter had all my favorites including the chick pea and lentil sides and the beef awaze tibs were so flavorful. I really really liked the spicy red sauce she gave us on the side, which she also makes from scratch. She was very careful to pack up all the leftovers and gave us samples of honey wine which was very nice. We will definitely be back, her food is top notch.“
