“I have ordered them on Uber Eats twice in the last week. I am newer to Indian cuisine and both dishes I’ve had been delicious. The butter chicken just melts in your mouth and the chicken vindaloo lets out an explosion. Both times I paired the two curries with buttered naan. The portions are ample, can get 3 servings out of them. I look forward to trying more dishes and dining in soon!“
“Really cute date night spot. This place has a nice elegant flare to it. Getting a reservation is highly recommended. Bar seating and outdoor seating are also available. The outdoor area is right by a small park and really nice to eat on a warm day. Lots of options available. Some Portuguese influence with their selection of port wines which is unique within this Indian style restaurant. If you have dietary restrictions such as gluten free, they have a separate menu but you need to ask for it. The main menu does clearly label vegan and vegetarian options. I’d recommend getting a few items to share as it is encouraged to eat family style. I tried the chili tofu and chana masala. Both were delicious.Vegetarian options: All vegetarian and vegan items are marked on the menu.Dietary restrictions: Separate gluten free menu“
“Crave their Chicken or Paneer Tikka Masala continuously. LOVE IT.They are always fast, efficient, and delicious. Whether it be the Tikka Masala or any other of their dishes.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.Vegetarian options: Choose Paneer for many of the sauces: i.e.Paneer Tikka Masala“
“It's an interesting fusion of Indian food along with Bar. Music is loud, so don't take your family for dinner, however, it's a great place to get yourself some Indian food. A place for youngsters to chill.Wheelchair accessibility: Not really wheelchair accessible, but staff was very kind to help out.“
“I have been coming to this tempura for many years since they opened. Brother Hasnat who is the manager here is like a family now, he works tirelessly and diligently to keep the place running and food quality up to date. Chicken biryani is a must try even-though a bit spicy but the best. Chicken rashmi kabobs and malai booti are also very good. Overall fresh food every time and very decent portions of Pakistani food.“
“I came in for a quick lunch and chose the buffet. I was able to try things I wouldn’t normally know to order! Everything was fresh and delicious. The area was clean and well kept. The staff were so sweet and helpful with all of my “what is this” questions. Overall amazing experience and I hope to be back soon!“
“This place has become my go-to for satisfying Indian street food craving . If you are fan of egg delicacies, this is the place for you. Their peri-peri sandwich is amazing , and the curries are great too. The restaurant’s decor is also pleasing , and the service staff are very friendly.“
“Write a quick review about savoy restaurant. Monica was amazing, and she made sure our Eid brunch was exceptional. We ordered our usual brunch items which are halwa puri, omelette and keema. When Monica noticed our table was smaller she fixed that.“
“Tandoori Hut is definitely 5/5 stars all around. I come from the Sacramento area in California and spent the past week in Houston. There are a lot of Indian restaurants where I live but none compare to this. We had Tandoori Hut catered for multiple events and everything was top notch. The quality of food, the variety of dishes, the flavor and freshness were all amazing. I typically prefer meat entrees, but I would have to say every item on the menu is recommended. This is a unique Indian restaurant and definitely worth trying. The best part was the customer service. They made us feel like family. The definition of high quality customer service. I only wish I was in Houston to have this more often.“
“Friendly service from the young lady. The pani puri was on the stale side, but the flavor was good. The veg biryani was spicy (we ordered medium), but good flavors, though a bit salty for my taste. We were given free dessert to offset the spiciness of the biryani. Overall a good place for Indian food, but the service won me over.“
“Food is so good here! This was our second visit and we got to try more of their dishes and each item was fresh and delicious. Starting from appetizers, momo’s, grills, to their curries. Everything is really good! We highly recommend this place for family gatherings.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options like saag, daal, mix veg, paneer dishes and very all good“
“Super! First time in and best Indian food I’ve ever tasted and I am well-travelled. I’ve tried Indian food all over Houston, in Oregon, Canada (Vancouver) Seattle… NY. Had the lamb tikka masala, mango lassi to drink, garlic naan, rice and paratha. Love love the bread the most! I want these people to make me pizza! Great! I’m super stoked this is local!“
“Update: Although I was completely disappointed by their service on the day I ordered but I am updating my review here as the restaurant owner called and apologized for the inconvenience and also refunded the amount. I really appreciate the effort they have taken here. Thank you.Original review: I won't even give 1 star to this restaurant. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We ordered food for pickup from their website. Paid the whole amount online and it said order would be ready in next 20 mins. We reached the restaurant 30 mins later to pickup the order but the order was still not ready and we had to wait for additional 45 mins waiting there. Also they refused to refund the money and in fact nobody there gave a proper estimate of how long it will take and just kept saying 2 more mins the entire time. Total waste of time and money.Felt like absolutely no value for customers or their time.“
“One of the best Indian Restaurants that I ve ever been to. Everything is positive about this restaurant, it's attached to the ISCKON temple @ Houston. The ambience, the service and food options are superb! Haven for vegetarians. Special mention to Saag Paneer and Mango Pudding. Those were out of the world. Will visit whenever I come to Houston. ? ❣️Dietary restrictions: They have a variety of salad options right from Green veggies to sprouted lentils.“
“Loved this place our visit to Houston! I’m surprised more people haven’t visited this! The flavors were on point. We enjoyed the cilantro egg chicken roll, lamb roll and the paneer rolls. The taste was perfect and even the single rolls were filling. The mango lassi is one of the best I’ve ever tasted with the perfect consistency.Keep up the great quality, folks!Parking tip (We struggled with this): You can park at the Lyric garage and get your parking validated if you leave within 2 hours. You will need to make sure you get a receipt from the restaurant with a QR code that you will need to scan at the parking meter. (Perhaps this is only required for weekends as we went on a weekend, not sure about weekdays).“
“My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday dinner at Ashiana. From the warm ambiance to the attentive staff, the restaurant creates a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is a journey through the diverse flavors of India, with expertly crafted dishes that showcase the chefs' skill in blending spices. Highlights include the crispy samosas, flavorful Butter Chicken, and aromatic biryanis. The staff is great and very attentive. Highly recommend.“
“Visited here for Goan vibes and Food…Anderson went an extra mile for his exceptional customer service !!!Food was flavorful … quality and quantity is worth the price and the hype !Overall it was a beautiful experience and great ambience !Beef cutlet stole the show !!! (Ordered it twice)“
“This was our first Indian food truck experience and it was spectacular. Firstly, the uncle and aunty were very welcoming and kind. We ordered Paneer paratha, malai kofta, chole batura and samosa chaat. The food was very flavorful and heartwarming. We also tasted their creamy mango lassi and delicious halwa. We were visiting Houston and will plan to come back here soon.“
“"Dear Shan & Team Saffron- The Indian Kitchen,We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional catering service you provided for our 2nd anniversary celebration at our home. The food was truly sumptuous and delightful, and your team's attention to detail was impressive.Special thanks to Shan, the owner's son, for his personal touch and dedication to ensuring everything ran smoothly. His presence made a significant difference, and we appreciated his efforts to keep the counters well-stocked and the naans hot and fresh.Your professionalism, combined with the delicious food, made our special day even more memorable. We highly recommend your services to anyone seeking exceptional Indian cuisine and top-notch catering.Thank you again for your outstanding service and culinary excellence!Best regards,"DhawaallDee’s Liquor8925 fallbrook drHouston tx“
“Hidden gem of the tunnels. Sometimes I come here just for their chai but their Indian dishes really hit the spot. They have fair portion sizes and if it's your first time visiting, they may treat you to a free chai or a free sample of other dishes.“
“I order here regularly and enjoy the authentic cuisine. I especially enjoy the Tikka Masala, Gulab Jamun, and the Chicken 65. My favorite appetizers are the vegetable Somas. The spices are perfect and they always deliver quality. Sometimes I only order appetizers and that is enough for two meals. Definite dine in or takeout spot for me.“
“Baigan bharta, jackfruit biryani, pani puri, mango lassi were absolutely excellent. Rajma kofta, dal makhni were good. Chena dahi vada chaat was good but don't let them mash it for you. They make a khichdi out of it, destroying all the flavor. Mishti doi and mango dolly were good. Nibu naan, lychee ceviche were different and there were two camps - some loved them and some hated them. But Nibu naan needs to be enjoyed with something mild like Dal makhni. The interior was gorgeous! I would have loved the restaurant just for the interior. Good service, but expensive. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.“
“Definitely reccomend, it's great food that doesn't take stupidly long to come out.Food:We ordered the Vada Pav, Chole Bhature, Mysore Masala Dosa, Special Combo Dosa (Masala dosa with one vada and one idli), and had falooda, rasmalai, and Kaju Anjir shake for dessertThe vada pav was ESPECIALLY good. Possibly in the top 3 vada pav I've ever had. The amount of chutney they gave was perfection. The pav was slightly crispy, so you could get a subtle crunch in each bite. Ultra satisfying. I was too busy eating it to get aesthetic pictures...The chole bhature was authentic too. Great flavor! Spicy too. Too spicy for me, but I have a weak spice tolerance. Anyone used to typical Indian cuisine won't have a problem. Very nice chole. The special combo dosa was great, but the vada wasn't completely cooked. Slightly doughey, It wasn't fun to eat. The idli was better, and was amazing the the tomato chutney (which I loved btw). The coconut chutney wasn't all that special, but it wasn't unpleasant in the slightest. The sambar was good, as expected. Not the best I've ever tried, but I wouldn't turn it down.Mysore dosa was the same, spicier (obviously) and really really tasty. I loved the texture of the dosa.THE RASMALAI IS CRAZY. Highly recommend!!!! Really really really good. I love rasmalai and it was perfect, not too sweet and not soggy. I actually typically hate nuts on Indian sweets, but thankfully they turned it into little slivers. I don't even like sliced almonds, but the little slivers were small enough for me to appreciate the flavor without having texture problems. Perfect taste!I didn't like the Kaju Anjir shake but that's most likely because I hate figs and dates. The falooda was perfect though.Food was all in all a solid 4.6/5. It didn't take overly long to come out, and I'm saying that after being super hungry and impatient when I walked in.Service was also nice. I appreciate that they leave extra cutlery and small plates, because me and my family share food a lot and need extra plates. It's nice we didn't have to ask.The place was clean and so was the cutlery. No complaints there.“
“The best Indian/Nepali food around! My husband and I LOVE the food. And the servers and owners are amazing! They always accommodate my allergy to dairy as well. They are the kindest! We love this place and recommend it to anyone and everyone.“
“This is by far the best Indian food I’ve had in Houston. Each dish was JUST as good as the last. I truly can’t remember the last time I loved every single thing ordered. The staff was so nice and attentive, and the food was AMAZING. My only regret is not coming here sooner! Can’t wait for my next visit.“
“I've been wanting to visit here for years. I finally did for my birthday and everything was amazing.Charga chicken was the top hit. So flavorful and juicy. Perfection. Then the butter chicken was very flavorful and not spicy. The naan bread is some of the best in Texas and it was paired well.Channa was very good. The chicken chapli was awesome, one big cutlet kind of patty buffet than any chapli I've ever seen. Packed with seasoning and flavor. So unique and authentic.Lassi was delicious and so was the kheer.“
“Honest revkew: if you're craving sodium, then come here. The salt is off the chain! How do I know? Na+ and H2O work like besties in your body. Na+ increase = H2O increase. H20 increase = volume of blood the blood vessels. Blood increase = pressure increase. Thus, once the salt is consumed by me in perhaps a delicious Tikka Masala, I start to soon notice my heartbeat getting faster and faster and my body feeling hot all of a sudden, and then I get out the blood pressure machine and woop there it is, that mmHg increase! The WHO recommends less than 5 grams of salt per day. Consider this before indulging. Stay hydrated, stay active, and stay positive, my fellow earthlings!“
“First of all the restroom was spotless. That's a big plus these days. The service was amazing and I can't even rate the food. It was so fantastic. We left super happy. Also the owner saw that we were leaving with a few takeout boxes and stopped us to make sure we were happy with the food. We definitely were so much we ordered extra to take home. We live an japan .Thank you for amazing service and food. It was a delight to eat here.Love the place must try“
“This is in response to an ignorant man who wrote the following:abu....something.1. Why have escalators that don't escalate? Just put stairs if yall don't want to fix them.- Then use the stairs lazy bone.2. There was a horrible odor that was unbearable walking up the metal spike stairs.- take your mask with you next time.3. It was 11:30 am on a Wednesday half of the shops where closed.- who goes shopping at 11:30 am? get a job!!4. The places that were open had a terrible attitude when you walked in.- you get what you give. Karma!!5. From the street, this place looks amazing, but it's all makeup when you get close enough. You see the real image.- You need glasses, get an eye exam.I don't know what is wrong with people. You have a goldmine in one of Houstons prime locations. Give it its due right.-Let me tell you what is wrong with people like YOU is you have no job, a lot of time, to troll someone's bread and butter like this. Shame on you!!.I am a customer here too but I see this often that Indian people defaming Indian businesses. What kind of people do that?If you have bought something or spent $$ there and then they did not give you something that you hoped for, you can write that, but because you did not like the esthetics, or the odor, or escalator not working. Shame!.“
“We absolutely adore this place! Our monthly visits are a highlight, thanks to Maria's incredible hospitality and service and her delightful daughter's warm welcome as hostess. While all the staff members are fantastic, Maria holds a special place in our hearts from previous dining experiences. The cuisine here is truly unparalleled, surpassing even our experiences in India. For me, the JAHANGIR Lassi (spiked Lassi) steals the show – a delightful blend of rum, passion fruit, mango, topped with shaved pistachios. Each samosa is a culinary masterpiece, showcasing unique flavors and my faves are the mushroom and feta, and potato and nuts. My folks swear by the lamb shank but I still always get the Chicken Tikka Masala it's so great. Lastly, their sinfully delicious desserts are all incredible.“
“I was sorry to hear about the fire but happy to hear from their owner that no one was injured. Their new location (former La Toxica) is a good temporary place for the next six months. My family and l love Indian food. Nirvana knows good food, value, atmosphere, and service. Your dining experience is worthwhile.Vegetarian options: YummyParking: Easily accessibleKid-friendliness: Definitely family friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Very delicious food. This little hole in the wall restaurant has become a favorite of ours. The food is always flavorful, soo delicious! The best Spicy Saag Paneer, Spicy Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan! Reasonably priced. Love it! The lady that waits on you is also very sweet and makes sure to ask if everything is too your liking! They also allow you to take a bottle of wine to enjoy and provide the wine bottle opener and wine glasses. There's also a liquor store next door where you can purchase wine from their cooler.Kid-friendliness: Our little one hasn't developed the taste buds for Indian food, but they don't mind us taking her Happy Meal to enjoy while mom and dad enjoy the good stuff.“
“I am torn about Pondicheri. Firstly, I should say that I bought Anita Jaisinghani's book Masala, and it has been a revelation. I have been making a new dish from the book every week since buying it in December, and it has become an obsession. Given how much I absolutely love her recipes, I was so excited to go to her restaurant, expecting it to be extraordinary. Having visited 3 times, I have found it somewhat disappointing. The food is hit-and-miss - some exceptional, some so-so. The naan bread is really quite special. The service is a bit confusing, half self-service, half table service. And the price, in my opinion, is a bit higher than expected for the quality of service and food. I can't say that I won't be back, but I've definitely enjoyed making her recipes more than eating at her restaurant.“
“Aa jugya bō saras mitthai bunavé ché. Meh Rameshbhai né bi kidhu. Aaj puchhi biji koi munchings ni dookan maa NI javanu. Badhhaa Google na public né kaidem: ek vukhut chaikhu pacchi biji dookan nu khavanu saau buckwas jevu svad laagé.“
“I ordered White rice and Butter chicken the taste of butter chicken was really good the only problem is it's hard to find the restaurant I was looking for the restaurant for 9 minutes which end up being under the tunnel which they have stores and restaurant under the tunnel.“
“Start your meal with bespoke cocktails, mashing up South Asian and Tex-Mex flavors and sporting tongue in cheek names - "Sari, Not Sari", "Dot, Not the Feather", "If You Know, You Know". The deviled eggs with shrimp are great starters. Try the stuffed avocado, and the curry and naan flights contain great options for trying lots of dishes for a group. Vegan and vegetarian options are all winners, and ordering "spicy" is intense ?! Don't forget to try dessert, especially the banana pudding (with mango).“
“Tandoori Chicken Momos were the Bomb! Burnt garlic fried rice was yum too. Green Chili noodles and Veg Manchurian were a bit disappointing, lacking flavor. Fast service, decent ambience, overall a good experience. I'm definitely going back for the Tandoori Momos ?“
“We had not been there in a while - and they have certainly upped their game. Restaurant was very clean. We were welcomed as we entered. The naan was cooked crisp and tasty. Food was delicious. And dinner for two for less than $30 was a steal.Parking: Lots of free parking make this also an easy place to visit.“
“Classic. Consistent. Been dining here 5 years. My go-to Indian joint. Always classy service. Eaten Indian all over USA. Last night on my pick-up - 1/2 guested seated were Indian and the pick up after me was for Raj. If it’s OK for the Indian crowd - ok for me. Thank you IP! Keep it going!“
“We buy food from imperial farmers market. It’s the best Indian food we’ve had here in Houston. It’s pretty spicy for us but honestly so delicious. We will definately buy more from here. They are in sugarland every Saturday 10-1 I believe. Lots of parking and pet friendly market.“
“Great place! Authentic south indian food and the best in Houston!!! We went to some big south indian brands before visiting Kumars and Kumars taste is much much better!!! They also have a lot of great vegetarian options with great taste. Go there if you are looking for authentic south indian food. Also generally restaurant have one or two out of the three chutney they serve to be good, but all three chutneys in kumar was very good, lets you wonder which taste you want to finish off.Vegetarian options: Dosa, podi dosa, parotta and veg salna, veg kothu parotta“
“Masala chai and filter coffee were nice drinks. Beef patty was pretty satisfying. Malai sandesh was definitely a hit, gur sandesh yummy as well. The inside walls of the cafe have interesting historical facts about coffee that you can read while you sip n snack.“
“The owner Harjit was particularly attentive and modified a grilled fish dish to ensure compliance with my wife's diabetic requirement. Food was very tasty and served piping hot. Excellent experience.Dietary restrictions: Accommodation of diabetic restrictions.“
“We stopped in on Sunday April 31st to grab a bite. We found it on Google while searching for something "different" to eat. This was our first visit.Upon entering, the first thing we noticed was that the place was very clean! A great sign. We reviewed the menu and decided what we'd be having and then stepped to the counter. A nice young lady took our order without issue. I had the chicken tikka masala (spicy), my daughter had the same (mild) and my wife got the make your own Southern Curry with chicken (extra spicy). We also ordered 3 garlic naan and samosas. Wife also had a craft beer (Edelweiss) from a local brewery. Daughter and I had a few different drinks from the self-serve machines (they were all good!).Upon delivering food we had a minor issue. While eating mine I didn't get much spice, but the flavor was good, so I carried on enjoying my meal and didn't really think about it. A few moments later, my daughter stopped eating her meal and complained that it was too spicy for her to continue. We pretty quickly realized at that point that they had switched the non-spicy and spicy orders when delivering them to the table. She had actually already finished about 75% of the order but we just switched plates. I enjoyed finishing the spicy and my daughter appreciated the less spicy version much more as well. The naan was great, samosas were also tasty. We'll probably try it again if we're in the area and feeling like something other than Tex-Mex or burgers. We'll just be more careful on making sure who gets what. It was a little bit pricier than expected but the food was good, so we didn't mind.“
“I personally feel this place has the best indo-Chinese food in houston My american husband is obssessed with their chicken schezwan lollipop , you can’t miss those ! The best biryani I ever had ! The staff is really sweet and welcoming ! Quick service, awesome food , overall a 11/10 restaurant ❤️“
“Good place if you enjoy buffets. But in Ramadan, it’s fully packed, so please book your table in advance. Also, you need to wait in a long line to eat and get food because it’s a buffet restaurant and it’s a very small, not so open place. But on a regular day, it’s a nice place to go for a buffet, especially during Ramadan.“
“I liked the guy taking order, he may have been the owner. He was very respectful and took us through the menu very paitently then we ordered shekh kabob swarma and beef shekh kabob platter. Very good bread and spicy sauce for swarma. Excellent. And rice was very good and beef and salad was very well done and fresh. Mango lassi was perfect as well.“
“Exceptional experience! The dishes were delicious. The service was impeccable from start to finish.Specially by Mr. Abubakr and team. This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the he made sure it was really friendly. They knows what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is the main priority.Very Warm and friendly atmosphere created by him. I enjoyed every bite of my meal. Even though I had a takeaway, I didn't feel like it. The way he greeted and made sure I felt comfortable was very comforting.Wide range of options in the menu. It was refreshing to see a menu that catered to all dietary preferences. The flavors were authentic, and the recommended food was perfectly matched.Generous portions and excellent value. I felt full and satisfied. Will definitely be back.“
“We tried the paav Bhaji and the RajKachowri. Those were great. The RajKachowri didn’t have yoghurt so we had to ask for more. Taste and speed was good. The ambiance can be improved. Honestly the lights are too night like it’s an airport and the walls have masala splattered over it. We look forward to coming here for the speedy and clean food. We took some other dishes and overall the spice level was manageable also.Dietary restrictions: They can make everything without onion garlic except thalis“
“We had been wanting to come here for months and we finally got the time to. We arrived and were quickly seated, greeted, and provided with our food. Jawed was especially friendly and accommodating to our entire party. He checked on us several times (to make sure we were liking the food and our drinks were filled) and then helped pack all of our food up.10/10 service! We loved it.“
