“If this place did not exist, one would need to invent it. The staff is very friendly with the owners being hands on. The atmosphere is bright and airy (even though there are no windows). The bar is very well equipped and the prices will not break anybody's bank. The food served whether or not free or sold is excellent. No bar food here - just good down home stuff.“

“Crawfish was amazing! Tailored to your spice tolerance and for the size of the crawfish, can't find a better deal. Not to mention the add ons take it to the next level. Will definitely be going back a few more times before the season is over.“

“Gonzo does karaoke on Wednesday night and he's one of the best karaoke hosts in Houston. Like, for real. I trust very few people to do my sound and he nails it every time. There's a pretty good selection of beer at this little dive bar as well and a pool table AND cool people AND just a good vibe all the way around. 5 stars. I highly recommend Wednesday nights. --Kat“
“The "North Side" is one of the last oh the true Northside of Houston dive bars.The place where a fellow, or a gal can drop in after work where the room and the beer are both ice cold you can talk to another fella or gal who may or may not be your equal at a competitive company.Not to trade company secrets just to talk about what's what.A place where you might dance to the jukebox or shoot a little pool.Where good friends meet.Now that we've got Holly behind the bar it will be coming even better place.Holly is a good girl and a very professional Bar Tender. Many of her customers have followed her from her last place of employment.Although I'm not a drinker there are times when I want to get out and just socialize with people from the neighborhood. When times happen, I head over to the North Side Saloon.“

“Bow and bear is every bit an authentic Irish pub. The food tastes great and is reasonably priced. They have wide diversity of beers and spirits. Most importantly is how they treat you. They treat you like you’re a guest in their house instead of a customer at a bar. Each time I’ve been there, the bartenders have introduced themselves by name. They’re friendly and attentive, but not overly chatty. They’ve got a small outdoor seating area, which is great on nights that are cool enough to enjoy it. Bull and Bear has now become one of my spots. Anyone who tries it will probably make it theirs as well.“

“Best little hole in the wall I've been to in a long time. The bartender chose a beer for me (I was having a day where I only k ew what I didn't want lol) and the atmosphere was great. The regulars were friendly and the noise wasn't so bad that my companion and I were unable to comfortably yap. Would recommend and definitely come back!“

“This is a very chill spot for drinks with a small outdoor patio. Inside is cozy, with a cheers like vibe. Drinks are cheap. No food served inside but it is next to a columbian food truck. TouchTunes. Usually can find 1-2 chess games being played (boards are stored with the bar tenders and are behind the bar). Parking can be hard to find on weekends“

“This was a pit stop after we did a run with one of Houston's running clubs, Freaks. The drinks were good, and pricing was decent. We had 4 bears for $13. Bonus, they have a barber shop right outside as well that came in clutch for a quick beard shape and trim. Our barber was Cheto and was great.“
